In Drama, we have to write and perform a two minute monologue in front of the whole class next Tuesday. I'm not worried about performing it, but I have no ideas at all on the subject. It can be on anything, you have to "get into the head of a character" and perform the monologue in the first person. Thanks in advance

How about a fairy tale from another perspective? That might sound odd, but hear me out...
We did some really funny stuff with this in my Drama class. Basically, you were a character in a fairy tale but you made it modern and you performed a monologue as that character, showing a different point of view. I was the evil Step Mother from Snow White and I ranted about how I fed up of being portrayed as the bad guy, etc etc. Other characters in ours were dwarves ('we're VERTICALLY CHALLENGED, how many times do we have to TELL you?!'), Snow White herself, the Prince etc etc. This works with any fairy tale and can be VERY funny! It's also good for really getting inside the head of a character and showing another side to an originally 2D person.
It really depends on what you act best at. Can you do sadness well? Or are you best at acting hyper? Invent a person who fits how you act and then give them a background...and voila! you have a whole story with which to write a monologue from :)

(Rating: 4) Thanks, thats a really good idea. I might not do fairy tales but I like the idea of "someone elses point of view". Cheers
