about

Hi, my name is Angela. I'd like to think I'm a friendly person and I've had my share of experiences and knowledge.

My friends tell me I'm great at giving them advice (most of the time) and I like to have fun while I'm at it.

Not sure about something a decision? Need more insight? Have some questions about sex? You should feel free to ask me about anything at all. I check my email all the time and I'll try to respond as soon as possible!

I have never gone tanning and I'm kind of confused. I'm not really comftrable with people seeing my body and such, so how is it like?? Is each tanning bed in one room or all together? Do I use lotion? Any tips. Thanks a lot. I have gone mystic tanning but I can't go now.

I admit i'm a fake bake fanatic. It's a quick and easy way to get a tan since the course load i'm taking on this year leaves me little or no time. And i can tell you i'm not the only one stuck on this latest trend; it's normal to see girls walking around with a mid summer tan during winter! Even so i highly recommend you skip the beds and hit the beach. Tanning in general causes damage to skin cells and leads to problems later in life such as skin cancer and aging so rub on that sun lotion as often as you can.

Here's some facts about tanning beds:

Fake baking is a $2 billion-a-year industry in the United States.

It is NOT a healthy alternative to suntanning. (especially since the UV rays are hitting directly onto your skin 5 inches away)

Ask the experts at the tanning place how long you should tan for, since skin types and colors may vary the time.

Most people tan weekly at an average of $9 for a standard session. ($469 a year)

Tanning beds can cause the three main skin cancers: basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma.

tanning lotions wwill accellerate the your tan time and prevent burning. It also moisturizes and prevents cell breakdown.

salon tanners were up to two and a half times more likely to get skin cancer than people who had never tried indoor tanning techniques.

For each decade earlier that you do it, your skin-cancer risk climbs by 10 to 20 percent

Tanning salons usually offer discounts for regular bakers. Admittance comes in one time only (up to 30 minutes on the bed), all-you-can-tan (weekly, monthly, season passes), and some even offer yearly. The tanning salons on campus are a lot cheaper ($3-4 per session) than the ones off campus. The ones on campus don't change their bulbs and god knows whos been on there before you. Fortunately, there's one about 7 minutes off campus and i can pick up a chai latte on my way there :)

Tanning salons SHOULD be offering individual rooms for each person allowing you to go au natural (avoiding those skanky bikini tattoos) and they should offer you a one time use DISPOSABLE bikini and eye protective wear.

In the end it's your body, your choice.

(Rating: 5) Thanks, but if I lived by a beach trust me I wouldn't be wanting to go to a tanning bed. Thanks anyways.
