Q: Hi,

My name is Todd, I'm an only child, and I am 15 and in High School. I have a really good friendship with this girl who has some problems. We're not really dating, but she's a really nice person and she's very kind, however she's depressed quite a lot.

I found out that she cuts herself since I saw cuts on her arms, and when some people asked she said it was nothing. I knew something wasn't right since she's never usually been cut like that. I didn't want to tell her that I think she's cutting herself, since I don't want to make her feel worse, but I just wish I could do something to make her feel better.

I always listen to what she has to say (although it's not much [as she says]), and I always try to do great things for her like get her gifts and make her feel better.

I know, from what she told me, her family has issues since she isn't really given much attention. It's not that her parents are mean, it's just that they don't really care about her. She also has two older sisters (who have children also) and one younger sister, so things get hectic over there, from what I know. Her two older sisters occasionally come up once a week or so, and she is left to babysit her nephews and niece.

I always try to let her know that I care about her 24/7. I'm going to invite her over to my house this weekend since she's been to my place before and my parents are happy to see her. Plus, it's a lot quieter. :-)

I know I can't "give" her my family, but I want to do as much as I possibly can to make her feel better and less depressed.

I'm concerned because I don't want her to commit suicide, since that would kill me. ;-(

If you have any advice or solutions you can give me, PLEASE TELL ME.

One of my ideas was that if her family doesn't do anything for Thanksgiving, I was thinking of having her over for Thanksgiving, since my parents won't really be doing anything since my immediate family moved away.

it seems like you like her a lot and i think it would mean a lot to her if you started to date. I mean like it would make her feel like at least one person REALLY does care about her. Also i think the thanksgiving idea is great. I really think you should start dating and if she wants sex give it to her you sound nice and i am sure all she needs is to know someone cares about her a lot

Q: ok....im not a very social person, at least not anymore, see...i used to go to this awesome school where i had like tons of friends and stuff but then i had to move so now im at this new school and its sooooooo much different. now i dont have that many friends. i mean like its not like im a nerd or anything, like people like me but theres only like 4 or 5 people that i can really call my friends. all i want to do is just make more friends but i dont really no how. just be yourself. I no what you mean that happened to me but then i was my normal self all hyper and now i love my life. You will make friends as time goes by dont worry

Q: I'm going crazy. When you make a pie chart in Microsoft Excel, the legend is just labeled as 1, 2, 3, 4...etc. Can you change what the label says? Can you rename the columns and rows? So instead of A it could be, like, Row 1 or something? If so, how do you do it? Thanks in advance. This is for my social studies fair project so I'd really appreciate it. :)

i dont think you can but like you can try clicking on the row or column that you want to change and then see what happens. hope i can help

Q: I’m 13, in the 8th grade, and have a guilty pleasure. I’ve been raised in an intellectual household, with both parents having a Ph.D. Generally, I don’t watch T.V. So I was at my friend’s sleepover birthday party with 7 other girls, and she rented the First Season of the O.C. We watched 4 episodes---and I liked it! I feel kind of guilty, because I know that technically, the show is for advertising and eye-candy with a plot. But I can’t help it. That blonde what’s-his-face that stole a car and set a house on fire is really good looking. And it keeps me at the edge of my seat. Now I’m addicted! What should I do? Am I shallow for liking this?

tell him unless he wants to walk home with bloody hands and all that stop for a week. No really just tell him the truth its life and everyone goes through it he cant get affended because you have your period.

I know its normal and not exactly their fault and everything, but when a girl goes through monthly stuff, what are we, the guys, supposed to do. periods can be tough and the best thing to do is to comfort your girl friend. I think what your doing right now is so sweet and she must appreciate it. Also why dont you try to cheer her up, mabye bring her to a movie once in a while or a special dinner. Lie down with her when she is not feeling well and watch a movie and cuddle her. Tell her to take midol its the best. Hope I can help and you are doing a great job so far.

why dont you call him on the phone or sit down with him and really ask him whats going on. If he doesnt answer you break up with him and see how he acts. If he doesnt care then he likes your friends. Trust me you will be able to tell

Q: I'm not sure exactly what I should or even can do for my cousin. I'm 19/f and he's 17/m and we were really close growing up, almost like brother and sister. I knew a while ago that he smoked pot and I've been telling him to stop and everything, but I had no idea how bad it really was. Last night we had a really long conversation online (we live 4 hours away now) and I guess he smokes enough to get "the shakes" after 2 days of not having any. I had no idea he smoked that much, I thought he only did it every so often. He also told me that he cuts and that he's attempted suicide on and off since he was FIVE YEARS OLD! I don't think that he would really go through with it, but it's so scary to know that he's thinking that seriously about it. He started smoking really heavily when he broke up with his girlfriend. She cheated on him and then dumped him because he didn't trust her anymore. He says that pot is all that is keeping him alive since then. His parents divorced when he was really young and his father has been married two times since and is now going through his third divorce. My cousin lives with his mother and her second husband which have a very bad influence on him. They live a really horrible lifestyle and abuse him by giving their own children more priviledges, making him babysit, and not allowing him to have certain things around the house like soda or peanut butter. He's been through a lot of relationships, some since the girl I mentioned before and he's far from a virgin. Our family has treated him like crap since he was born and they have such high expectations for him especially because he's the fourth of his name. They all love him though, especially me and I hate to see this happening to him. I'm really glad that he was honest with me, but I'm so worried about him. What can I do to help him? I've talked to him and tried to encourage him and I don't know if it's working. I hate to see this happen to someone I care so much about. Any advice at all would be wonderful. Sorry it's so long.

Well first of all this might be so hard for you and you dont want to do it but you know you have to tell an adult or even get the police involved with this this is serious and devastating trust me he will thannk you. Also ask your parents if you could skip a couple days of school to go visit him and see how he is i am sure that if you tell you parents what is going on then they will approve. Also just talk to your cousin everyday on the phone and mabye send him things like candy or something to cheer him up. I hope he is ok and i hope everything works out.
