I'm 19 and my older brother killed himself back a year ago and since then everything has been going down hill in my life. Ive lost my car, haven't been able to find any type of work and recently had to leave the college I was attending due to financial problems. Besides the fact that my mom has been a violent alcoholic my entire life and my father doesn't exist,Ive always managed to be a person who sees things from a positive point of view, but over the past few months I've been feeling alone and like my life isn't worth living anymore and like things will never get better I just don't see the point in living at all. Each day is more stressful and painful and im not sure if I can take another day. I don't want to kill myself because I know it isn't right but I'd rather not feel this pain any longer. What can I do?
I completely understand. First off, I'm really sorry about your brother. Most people don't have good reasons, but you do. Just know that killing yourself won't be any better, and it won't help at all. Things will get better at some point, if you're strong enough to wait it out. Think back to the last time you were depressed, aren't you glad you didn't kill yourself then? I hate that I'm not experienced in this area, and that I can barely help you. If you'd like to just have someone to talk to though, I'm here.
I started talking to this guy (jake) that I go to school with a few weeks ago. We really hit it off and now we've been going out for a week. I really like him a lot and I can tell he really likes me too. My friends and people that know him at school tell me to be careful around him and telling me that he's a pervert and he wants sex and stuff like that. He does not seem like the kind f guy that these people are telling me he is. He is really sweet and hasn't even tried to pressure me into anything. Basically, yes, I think he's putting on an act. I've met tons of guys that seemed amazing and like 'the one' but I knew the truth. Just take a look at his past and some of the girls he's dated. It is possible to change him and make him commit, but stand your ground. Don't give in because that's what pretty much all he wants. He's already figured out what to do and how to win girls over to get what he wants. There's no point in talking about it to him, that will just make him mad. He knows what he's doing, but he thinks you don't know. I guess I'm just jumping to conclusions but my best friend went through this and I don't want it to happen to you too. Later on you'll see how there are two different types of guys. I don't know what else to say. Just make the decision for yourself but keep your eyes open.

Yeah, I wear it with chapstick to make it smoother. Some people put lipgloss over it but I can't stand lipgloss. I wouldn't suggest wearing lipliner though. It looks fake.
I have a question, on the from of my gum on the bottom right hand side my gum is swollen and i dont know why because it wasent swollen earlier at all and now it is i have a little black spot on in the tip of my gum to and i went to get my teeth cleaned like a month ago or a couple weeks ago and i had braces on and got them off like before i got my teeth cleaned and the dentist that cleaned them said that i am at risk of getting some kind of gum disease because i hadnt gotten them cleaned sense 2006 and i didnt know it had been that long and iam scared that im going to get that gum disease it starts with a P but i cant even spell it so what do i do? I really dont want to loose my teeth and i dont have enought money for implants and i dont even know if my insurance covers implants so please help?
They get swollen and red when you don't brush them enough, or when they're irritated. Try using a softer brush, and brushing them regularly. The gum diseases that your dentist is talking about is Gingivitis and Periodontal Disease. Those rarely happen, but they're from lack of proper dental hygiene. There are lots of mouthwashes that help your gums that you could try out, but the main problem is your hygiene. Start thoroughly brushing your teeth 2-3 times a day.

You probably have a bad reputation because you changed from emo/scene to preppy. What's that called? Poser, I believe. You're labeling yourself, which you really shouldn't do. Just be yourself. When you start labeling yourself, people are going to label you. Get used to it.

I'm a guy (obviously) and I've had long hair since I was about 17 or so (I'm 23 now). From a personal standpoint I like having long hair but I'm beginning to wonder if people see something different than what I really am when they look at me. This is especially true of the women I've dated. I seem to attract the type of women who are the complete opposite of me. Myself I'm fairly deep into the conservative side of things, I'm religious, etc... But my exes, who were attracted to guys with long hair, were almost my complete opposites on many views which eventually resulted in break-ups. I've been called a "hippie" and a few other things when I'm actually a very conservative soul.
So I guess my questions are... Do some women (possibly the ones that I would like to be with) take guys with long hair seriously? What is your first impression about the personality of a long haired guy? Do we all seem like flippant elf-boys on first glance?

When I see a guy with long hair, I automatically assume that he's open-minded. People that have their hair long have obviously thought about it. I like thinkers. I also would guess they're a hippie (or indie, or just into older music like classic rock) but that's probably only because I'm like really attracted to hippies for some reason. Usually, opposites do attract, but I don't really understand what you're talking about with the hair thing. Are you saying you attract wild girls that aren't relgious and are more liberal? That could make sense but that isn't always the case. Maybe those are just the women that you're attracted to, and that you're going for. If you don't like the girls that you're dating, change that, not your hairstyle. Know what I'm sayin'? =]
ok so my hair goes down to my waist, sometimes a little longer but i cut it 1 inch about every 5 weeks. my skin is really white and my hair is darkbrown/maroon ish but some say it's black too. (it's not haha) like most people say it suites me and most guys and my friends seem to like it , other girls always try to get me to cut it but probably cause theyre jealous. it's naturally straight but i like curling it to give it more volume. so my question is, do guys like long hair like that?

If you like it, keep it. If you change yourself, you're going to find someone who likes who you're pretending to be, and not YOU. Anyway, yeah, from what I understand, guys love long hair. As long as it's taken care of. Like if it's one length and stringy and roots are showing then that's kinda gross, but if you take care of it and it has layers and you dye it, then yeah, awesome!

Im a 15 year old girl, turning 16 next week and I have been dating my boyfriend (hes a grade older than I am) for a bit over a month, but I have liked him for about 3-4 months and was seeing him for about a month and a half before we actually started dating.
Yesterday, I was over at his house and his parents had left for a few hours, we ended up watching a series of movies and made out for the duration of almost all the movies. Things started getting more heated, but I'm currently on my period so I stopped him from actually putting his hands down my pants. Now, my boyfriend has alot more experience than I, and I havent done anything more than make out. He said he understood, so we just kept to alot of touching and feeling above clothing.
The thing is, if I wasn't on my period I really think I would have let him. All my life I have been saying I wouldnt do anything more than make out unless I was dating the guy for a very long time and felt I was in love with him.
I dont love him but I like him alot, and hes the sweetest most caring guy ever, and me and my friends all agree I couldnt have got a better guy.
So, pretty much Im wondering if Im changing by benig more open to the idea. I always have been considered this innocent, perfect little girl, so its kinda weird knowing that in that situation I wanted to do more so bad, so now Im kind of wondering if by doing this Im going against my morals. Don't hold back because you think you are expected to, or because soceity says it's wrong. If he's truly not a player, and you really see a future with him, and you can see yourself loving him, then do it when YOU'RE ready. But so many girls make the mistake of giving in when they are learning. Just make sure it's the right choice.

But then a part of me starts questioning what's going to happen after wards. Because he's become such a close, sincere friend.. and we have a wonderful connection, I feel as if sex may make it almost too sexually intimate.. and we'd lose the best part of the relationship that I've known.
So really.. does sex help bring two closer?.. or dismantle it? And what happens if I'm not good at it, ya know? He's not a virgin. Does sex change feelings for the worse, then it does the better??
