Hi there,

I have a 2004 Ford Mondeo and the glow plug light will come on... then the power is gone and I can barely limp it where it is going.

Can anyone help me out with this?

Thank you! (link)
Amazingly this has been asked quite a few times here. Here is the answer I was able to come up with:

The car you have is equipped with an engine that is absolutely famous for fuel delivery problems.

The flashing glow-plug light on the Ford is primarily used to signal fuel contamination... but with this engine that is a hit or miss diagnosis.

It can be any of the following, at LEAST:

Defective injector on any or all cylinders.

Bad programming of the fuel delivery computer.

Defective fuel delivery computer.

Cam failure on the low pressure lift pump that brings the fuel from the tank to the high pressure injector pump.

Leaking injector seal(s.)

Injector in need of adjustment.

Injector in need of cleaning.

Electrical system going over-voltage and confusing the the fuel delivery computer.

Contaminated fuel, fouled tank.

Fuel filter getting almost completely clogged from bad fuel.

Failed turbocharger. (Though usually you would know if this happened.)

... among a host of others.

Those listed are some common problems to give you an idea that this is something that needs to be looked at by a factory mechanic withe access to the full array of Ford Diagnostic tools designed specifically for your car.

I am not somebody that usually says you MUST go to a factory service center... but in this case, you must if you have any chance of getting this taken care of.

The usual reported problem goes like this:

First there is a "flat spot" (poor performance) between 1800-2000 RPM.

Then the flashing glow-plug light. Then it becomes nearly impossible to start, and only wants to do about 20 mph like it was running on two cylinders.

This is a known problem experienced be MANY people who own this engine.

The most frequent complaint I have seen is that it drives like someone turned the turbo charger completely off.

Please look here to see if the problems you are having match up with the problems others are having:

[Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

... if so, I would get in touch with Ford right away.

I hope that you are the lucky one, and it is a simple fix. If not, and you have to go through all that the people on that site have you may have a "lemon."

If it is an official lemon you may get a new car out of it, or at least a new engine.

Keep all receipts, record all times you have taken it in, how long it was there each time, etc. That way you will have that info to give to Ford, or an attorney, whichever comes first. ;-)

Good luck,

DN.

Alright so I have a youtube,
But I really want to know a good site that I can edit my videos on. If anyone ever heard of shane dawson, his video's are amazingly editted. Can someone tell me how or where I can get this?
Thaaanks :) (link)
There is no way he is using some website to edit with. Most of the editing is fairly basic but the shots with fake backgrounds require green screen work and higher end cameras.

Nava is correct. I would write him and ask specifically which editing program he uses, which cameras and how he arranges his lighting. There is an awful lot to producing a decnet looking video. Might also find out if me suggests any learning materials to get you started.

Happy editing.

so i have a samsung star s5320 (its from the Netherlands) and i cant figure out how to put a signature on the message thing. my best friend had a phone from here that did exactly the same as what mine did and she got it to put a signature on it but she dont remember what she did. ive been trying to get it for a few months now but i cant find it. please help me. i rate 5 for everything.(:

example,

Hey whats up?

*LovingHim:) (link)
Hi there,

I researched this and have found nothing available on-line. In fact the folks at Samsung don't even admit to making the Star s5320 based on it not coming up in the search at their very own site. :(

Best bet is to go through the manual with your friend and see if perhaps it triggers her memory of what she did. Perhpas the carrier through whom you have service could walk you through it.

Wish we could be more help.

what color wrapper represents what condoms out of the box? l got rid of the box to make it easier to hide from my parents. but i dont know which one is which. also what do each of them do or what are they called? i bought the box of twelve and the wrappers are either gray, orange or yellow. please help me as best as you can. l want to know which ones are which before l use them (link)
Consider heading back to the store where you bought them and having another look at the packaging.

I currently can not acess firefox, microtrend housecall, google chrome, skype, messenger, I can not download any software. I have reset my TCP/IP settings. I rean a scan and retrieved the CBS.log file...after fighting with Vista and realizing that inherancies need to me added at the C: level to own the systems rights. I have tried all kinds of things. Everything I can think of. So far my emails work in IE and I can acess web pages. I can even chat on facebook and everything. I am soooo frustrated. It was suggested my host file was corrupt but the report looked fine and then it was suggested I have the conflickr worm. I ran bitdefender....or at least think that I did, but there always seams to be errors with anything I am trying to connect to that is app related and requires an internet connection. I have googled and googled and googled to try to find anything that reads similar to my problem and have not had much luck. Any ideas other than smashing the system or a total reformat????=) (link)
Hi there,

Welcome to happy happy vista land. ;-)

It would be helpful to knwo what error messages you are getting when you try to launch the apps that will not run. Without that, let me speculate a bit.

If you want to rule out rootkits, virii and hardcore system hijacking spyware then you should pull the drive from the system and and install it on a second system. Scan it with a full battery of tools and see how you come out.

If you would like to try, you can download AVG or Avast anti-virus on another machine and either place it on a flash drive or burn it to a CD and then attempt to install on the system.

Good luck with that, and if you can provide more detail I would be interested.

Hello Vishal,

Please consider going to the major on-line job listing sights such as:

Monster:

http://www.monster.com/

Careerbuilder:

http://www.careerbuilder.com/

Hotjobs:

http://hotjobs.yahoo.com/

Of course there is also Job.com:

http://www.job.com/

Indeed:

http://www.indeed.com/

Perhaps you would wish to work for the US Government:

http://www.usajobs.gov/

All Job Search is a good place to cath things the other sites didn't:

http://www.alljobsearch.com/

Here is another one I just found that is extremely simple and powerful: "Simply Hired"

http://www.simplyhired.com/

Those all deal with all kinds of jobs which does include IT jobs for you, but here are a couple that are just for tech jobs:

You need to start with Dice.com:

http://www.dice.com/

Also Just Tech Jobs:

http://www.justtechjobs.com/

Oh, and Careerbuilder.com does have a dedicated section for tech jobs:

http://information-technology.careerbuilder.com/

Tech Careers:

http://www.techcareers.com/

And here is a piece of free advice for you: Never complain about your job on-line. Your company WILL find out about it.

I have removed your company name from your question in order to protect you while you search for a new job.

I wish you the best.

does anyone know any good websites were i can enter compotitions for free ?
thanks (: (link)
Hi there,

You are going to have to be a little more specific for this to be answered well.

Please ask a new question and tell what kinds of competitions you are looking for. Singing, art, what?

I will delete this question and wait for you to re-ask it so I can re-approve it.

Thank you,

DN.

Alright well this has happened twice to me i try to get onto this website but it doesn't allow me

Your IP was blocked by the security script. There is a possibility that google is running an ad that when it shows up it triggers the script.

We are looking into it. In the mean time we clear the block list several times a day.

Thank you for your patience.

Hey DangerNerd:

I accidentally paid 3 times for a premium account. While I know you love donations, I would appreciate it if you could cancel the first two ones.

The first time, I paid for "the unexpected" because I wanted to change my name to that. The second time I paid for " drsexy13" (I didnt realize that it had 3 spaces in front of it). The third time, I correctly paid for "drsexy13".

If you could cancel the first two, that would be great.

Thanks (link)
Hi there,

This is all taken care of. Your account has been refunded for two of the three payments, and your advicenators account has been upgraded to paid status.

Thank you very much for the help keeping the site open.

Please find your way into the supporter forum which you now have access to:

... thanks again,

DN.

Ok so for a class, i'm supposed to collect 100 males and 100 females who have died in a specific century. All I need is the year of birth and the year of death. The thing is i'm scared of cemeteries and really dont want to go to one so i was wondering if there is any way i could do this online? I live in new jersey so if anyone knows anywhere i could find some sort of records for people who died in the 1900's then please share! or actually any record of births and deaths would be fine because im desperate right now. The best would be a lists of cemeteries in new jersey and the graves that are there, but i doubt anyone is going to know that.. Oh and its due tomorrow so i really hope this question gets posted tonight (link)
Hi there,

Well believe it or not there is a great deal of research out there that will help you. Problem is there is a LOT of info... might not have wanted to wait to the last minute on this one. :-)

Okay, so what you are really after are genealogy records. If you had more time there are probably 2,000 sites covering what you are looking for in your area alone. Here are some very specific New Jersey genealogy websites:

Link to Camden county records:

http://usgwarchives.net/nj/camden/camden.htm

... And here is a list of the other counties:

http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~njgenweb/counties.html

... which should give you everything you need. You will just have to dig through the records to find the ones that apply to your criteria.

Happy researching.

Unable to connect to ISP from my Xp Windows computer from a rotary phone location (after in "phone and modem options," clicking "edit" and in "Dial using" selecting "pulse)"; computer dials at the rapid "tone" rate just like after pressing redial on a touch tone phone'

My alternate computer with Windows 98 dials digits singly at the pulse rate and always makes a successful connection.

At another location the Xp computer was able to connect using pulse dialing. Wondering if the modem driver needs to be reloaded or some further "editing" is required to get the Xp system out of the "tone" dialing mode? Paul, Canada (link)
Howdy Paul,

There are so many things that could be causing your complications here that a little testing is in order. I have had certain iffy lines cause the dial to fail in the past and so I wonder about that with you since it connects in one location and not another.

Humor me for a sec and try putting a comma between each on the digits in the number.

what would be:

555-1212

... becomes:

5,5,5,1,2,1,2

... and see what happens. This will cause a short pause between digits dialed. If it connects, and you can live with it then there you go. If not, let me know and we will go from there.

On GameFAQS.com how do we get the saved file to our game system?

http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/wii/save/933022.html

I have the wii. (link)
Hi there,

You have to save them to your SD memory card. They have to be saved into a certain folder and everything which is a little confusing at first.

Here is a guide that will explain the way the folders are named:

"Wii (WII) Save Backup Guide by Crazy AJ"

http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/wii/file/930752/53144

... If you still need answers after that please let me know or contact the folks in the gamefaq forums.

I have an exilm camera with a memory card that has a lot of pictures on it. Whenever I want to import pictures from it, it always brings in every single picture. I have multiple copies of pictures on my computer and it's really annoying. Is there any way just to import selected photos? I use windows vista.

thanks! (link)
Hi there,

Ok so the best way to do what you want would be to use windows explorer. You know when you go looking for a file on your computer?

When you insert your memory card a menu should pop-up and one of the choices is "open folder to view files" or some such thing. If that doesn't come up for you there are a couple other ways you can get there: Right-click the start button and select "explore" or open "My Computer" and click on the drive letter it gave your memory card when you inserted it.

You can then browse through and take just the photos you want.

May I make an alternate suggestion? It is a pretty bad idea to leave all your pix on a memory card. Number one they aren't terribly reliable so your shouldn't count on them to be the only place you save your photos.

Number 2: Your card can get full when you need it most. :-(

Ok, so here is the way the camera maker intended it to be done: You import your photos, then you delete them off the card.

Your camera will probably have a function in the menu to "format memory card" and you can do that. You can also right click on the drive letter of the card while it is hooked up to your computer and then select "format." Don't change any of the options and proceed to format the card.

Make sure you selected the right drive letter. :-)

You can select everything and hit "delete" also, but he cameras usually hide some of the files so you can't select them without changing your explorer settings to show hidden files.

So let us say that your camera makes a thumbnail image for each picture (most do) and hides it. Then you go and delete all the photos each time you import them... and you notice that your card can store fewer and fewer pictures each time! That is because the little hidden files are still there. This is why formatting can be a good idea. If not every time then once in a while if you usually just highlight everything and delete it.

I hope that covers everything. If you have any more questions please ask.

Okay, I was just wondering if there's any way at all to attach a Gamecube to a Mac and use the computer as the monitor. Also, what are your favorite Gamecube games? (link)
Hi there,

I was banning the person who answered this before me when I noticed your question. There is a way to do this. In fact there are several ways to use your computer monitor with the nintendo gamecube, playstation 1-2-3 or xbox/xbox360. The answers are the same for any system that normally connects to a TV.

The first option would be a TV tuner for the computer. In your case that would need to be Mac compatible and I know just the tv adapter for you:

The EyeTV 250 Plus:

http://www.elgato.com/elgato/na/mainmenu/products/250plus/product1.en.html

... and the second way to do this is with a little box called a video to VGA upscaling Converter... among other things.

Here is an eBay search for the Geniatech V2VPro:

http://desc.shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=Geniatech+V2VPro&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=1&_trksid=p3286.m270.l1313&_odkw=Geniatech+V2VPro&_osacat=0&_rdc=1

... which looks to have the most functionality for the money... AND doesn't care if it is hooked to a Mac or a PC.

Better late than never, right?

what the hell does this mean?

DUE TOMORROW HELP (link)
Hi there,

What they are talking about is an academic discipline. An academic discipline is basically the accepted grouping of knowledge on a certain subject as it is taught in a certain course or school or even worldwide in the case of maths and some sciences.

So what they are asking is how did what you read about the events in question change how you think about the history you are studying.

You might want to go over this with your teacher. If they didn't explain this, then they have done you a great disservice.

I hope you do very well.

i need help asap. I got my finals maths exam tomorrow.
The writing on my calculator was really faint, so i changed the batteries and the writing and things are still SO faint!
Helppp! Im panicking! I can barely see the graph or the numbers or anything on the calculator.. Is there something i should do or what? Im freaking out!

Any quick advice will be greatly appreciated!
(link)
Hi there,

I would buy or borrow another one since you don't have the time to mess with it right now.

If you can fix the other one later, then you will have a backup in case something like this happens again. A friend of mine once let a calculator I owned lay face up in the sun all day... the display was never the same. That is the only thing I can think of off hand... overheating or over-exposure to uv light can both be very hard on LCD type displays.

I hope you do/did well on your exam.

What does "nex superne" mean? My dad has a coin with wings and a parachute logo design on it and it says 101st Airborne around the top of the coin and "Nex Superne" around the bottom of the coin.

I know it is from my dad's time in the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division, but my dad didn't make it back ok so I can't really talk with him and ask him what it means. :( (link)
Hi there,

My dad was an Army Ranger attached the 101st. It is commonly used as "Death From Above" or DFA. just like the other user has stated... but the translation is iffy. That is what it is used to represent on that coin. I understand it can also be translated as: "violent death from above" or the almost poetic: "Murder from on-high."

We do have a resident Latin expert:

Ask Fern about it if you are curious:

http://www.advicenators.com/column.php?u=FernGully

I am sorry your dad didn't make it back. Hang onto that coin and never forget that he would have come back if he could.

If you have other questions about the 101st, please ask away. I will pass any you have on to my dad.
