I'm a raw and living foodest. For those of you who are unfamiliar with what that is I only eat foods that have not been cooked. I do this because it maintains all of the nutrients and enzymes intact and is much healthier. I'm not here to try to convert anyone. I think you can reach maximum health by eating all kinds of foods fixed all kinds of ways. This is simply my life choice. What I'm here to do is help educate people as to what is happening to thier food. Did you know that the pharmaceutical companies have lobbied to have a law voted on called "Codex Aimentarius" that will take away our freedom to take suppliments? It has already been implemented in Europe. Of course it is still ok for them to put steroids, antiboitics and harmones in our foods. Have you wondered why there is a great influx of people acting aggressively and out of character? I'm here to help guide you through this mess. Okay so I am really athletic and I play soccer on a higher type of team and I always have practice and we have to do things like run 5 laps, and sprints.. things like that. So anyways, my hips are so large! my hipbones like stick out so much. I would think that exercise like that would make them thinner but no they are just the same. Please help on how to make them smaller, I RATE 5'S TO ALL!!

It sounds to me like you have lordosis or swayback. When you are involved in a high empact sport like your are this can cause a type of curvature of the spine such as lordosis. This means you would have an antierior tilt of your pelvis. When this happens no matter how hard you work out you will not be able to slim down in your lower extremities because your psoas muscles are contracting. You need to stretch them out and get your posture back in line. I have included two websites below. The first one is some exercises. The ones I want you to work on are the pelvis exercises and the psoas exercise. The psoas exercise is at the bottom of the page. Do at least 10 repetisions of each at least once a day or more if you have time. It's ashame that coaches don't incororate stretching exercises in with their workouts so that perminant damage to the young growing bones does not occur, but they don't. There are hundreds of thousands of adults out there who have lower back pain that can be traced back to the high impact sport they participated in when they were young. Gymnasts are real succeptable to this too all that bending and contorting. If you get yourself into the habit of stretching yourself out after each workout you can keep this from happening to you and correct the damage that may have already occured. Good luck!

I wasn't sure where to put this, because it's kind of a weird question. Bear it with me.

I'm a thirteen year-old girl and I'm bringing one of my friends with me on a three week long trip to Europe. She's very nice, low-key, and low-maintinence (sp?), so I'm not really worried about getting sick of her. My problem is, I'm afraid SHE'LL get sick of ME. I guess I tend to complain a lot, and stuff like that, but I really want to get better about that. Does anyone have any tips for becoming more self-aware and complaining less?

Relax and don't worry so much about it. I find the more I worry about something the more it will happen. So don't even think of it as a possibility. Just picture your vacation as being everything you want it to be and don't even let the negative thoughts come into your mind because if you do you can manifest these thoughts and then they will be true. Keep the picture of the vacation you want in your mind at all times and it will be as you want it to be. Your friend already loves you and loves being with you or she wouldn't be going with you. Because you two are different makes it that you two are compatable. Have fun and know you will have the best vacation ever.

how would i start modeling?.. i know i need a portfolio but how do i come about that.. do i pay?.. how much is it? do i just go to a place where they do professional photography like glamour shots?..
and for acting.. how do i start that.. is it wise to get an agent? how much would that be.. im thinkin of taking acting classes.. i take drama in highschool

**how do i know what is and is not a scam**

To get started in acting/modeling you do have to have a portfolio and you do have to pay for that which usually runs somewhere around $1000 or so depending upon the experience of the photographer in the feilds you want to enter. You simply have to hunt around for someone who has credentials in the areas that you want to work in and they will know the standard shots that you will need. Models do need to be at least 5'9" tall and that is a must. I knew this girl in New York who was absolutely stunningly beautiful, but she was 5'8" and no one would take her. What you should never have to pay for is the talent agency, modeling agency or agent. Anyone who tells you that for X amount of dollars they will get you started in the business is taking you for a ride. A true Agency/Agent will be taking a percentage of what you are being paid. I don't think you need an agent until you are signed by a modeling agency if that is the direction you are going and you can get away w/not having an agent in the acting feild if you know how to find out where the casting calls are being held. There are certain trade magazines and books you can get that give you the information you need. In California there are actors trade books that give you info on all of the movie companies and how to contact them. I have signed up w/a talent agency before and there was no money out of my pocket and they did take their own shots of me for thier books. But, these shots are only head shots and don't show a wide spectrum of looks you need to show sometimes and if someone wants you for a movie or play they may request your portfolio shots which the agency does not have. Once you are casted in moderate or big part in a movie you will be directed by the movie/theater company or agency to some highly recommended agents with good reputations, but if you are casted as an extra then you won't need one. I have a fever..its 102.4 and my tonsils are swollen. I have a sore throat and my ears hurt. I have a head ache. I'm achy everywhere, My eyes are sensitive to light, and my neck is really stiff. Yeahh I REALLY don't feel good..AT ALL. Any idea on what I might have or whats wrong?

Tonsilitis comes to mind. You need to get to a doctor to get an acurate diagnosis. One thing that will help you w/this is taking the essential oil-clove oil-it is an analgesic and will help to deaden the pain(also great for a tooth ache). Clove oil is also an anesthetic which will help to kill the bug that is perpetuating this illness. Just put a couple of drops on your tung and swollow. You'll notice it right away. Some natural antibiotics are St. Johns Wort, Holy Basil and Colostrum. You should be able to get these items at any local health food store. You also want to take anywhere from 500 to 1000 milligrams of Vitamin C every two hours or so. The dosage depends on your age and weight. Drink lots of liquids, fruit juices, and water etc. Don't drink sodas. The reason is that the sugar in them deplete your body of vitamin C and other helpful vitamians. It acutally breaks down your immune system. This will make your healing process take longer. Do these things and you should be up w/in a day or so. You are correct the first time. It means if you are German, Italian, Etheopian, Egyptian, Russian, etc. So, if your mother is German and your father is English, you'd be of German/English ancestory. If your mother is German/French and your father English/Irish, you'd be of German/French/English/Irish ancestory. You can even take this further and add where your grandparents are from, your great-grandparents and so on. But for praticle purposes for a survey I'd just keep it to your your parents lineage. Hey I need serious help.
I know there's too many questions on this
but is there any way to loose 10 lbs in the shortest amount of time, if not how long does it take?

Anyways I been on a diet,about two months ago && well I started out loosing ALOT of weight in only two months, now that i have ten more lbs to go I thought it'd be a breeze to loose them but i was wrong. I do everything I can to loose those ten lbs but I cant

for example I do exersize , eat right & loose weight but then in a few days I gain the lbs i lost & its fustrating me.why is that happening?

PLease help me just give me ANYTHINg that would make me loose those 10 lbs easier & before I start school. [I have 3 months]

It sounds to me like you are not eating enough or you are going for long periods of time w/out eating. I know, sounds wrong, but let me explain. If you don't take in enough calories/fuel for your expendatures then your body starts to believe you are experiencing a famine. This triggers your bodies defense mechanisims and it goes into starvation mode. What happens here is that anything you put into your body at this point will be store as fat. Your body is trying to save you. What you need to do now is trick it. Start eating something every two hours. It could be anything, like a handful of sunflower seeds, a few carrots, cherry tomatoes, etc. This will lead your body into thinking there is lots of food out there after all and it will start to burn those fat calories for you. Keep that exercising going so that it will burn fat calories instead of muscle calories and you will be home free. You will have those 10 lbs off in no time. Good luck!

I was playing basketball yesterday and then I got fouled and got knocked down and hurt my knee but I got up and walked the pain off of it.. It didn't start hurting til this morning.. My left knee is swollen on the left side of it I can't squatt it hurts bad..My knee feels really tight to I think its were its swollen.. I can still run and stuff though.. I can't stretch my leg out while moving my foot to the right and it hurts.. Could it be A meniscus tear? If not what could it be?

It sounds more like a pulled ligament or a strained muscle. What I'm going to suggest to you is something that is done for pro-atheletes. It helps to get them up and back into action w/in 3 days. You need to get a long storage type plastic container and fill it w/ice. Find some pillows for your other knee, becuase you will be putting all your weight there. Do this in front of a chair or something that you can hold onto it to stabelize yourself. Now you want to put your knee into the ice and leave it there for about 20 minutes. It will be excruciating pain at first but you have to leave it in there no matter what. Your knee will finally get to a point of numbness. Once it hits the numb stage, that's when you don't feel it anymore, you take it out. Start stretching it back out and working it. You will be surprised how much further it stretches after doing this. Massage it, walk on it, stretch it out for about 5 minutes. Then put it back into the ice again. It won't hurt so much this time and it never will again. Leave it in the ice this time for 5 minutes. repeat this proceedure 3 more times. Then over the next few days do this a couple of times a day. The swelling will go down and your active range of motion should return. If this doesn't work than you really need to get to a doctor because it is not soft tissue that is the problem. Good luck!

Okay. This might sound weird, but im freaked out.

I have a rash by my vaginal area. like on the sides. im not sexually active. nor have i ever been, im only 13. i told my mom about the rash and she has no idea what it could be and she doesnt have time to take me to the doctors. im scared to put something on it cause idk if it will like. hurt the vaginal tissue......

It's hot out now and if you aren't wearing 100% cotton underwear you could be getting a heat rash. What women aren't told enough is that they should never wear synthetic underwear and especially in the summer. Synthetic underwear is the biggest cause of heat rash AND yeast infections. You don't have to be sexually active to get either one of these. Don't wear tight clothing either because it will rub against you and cause irritation. Keep your clothing loose in the summer and keep it natural fiber like cotton or rami and you will be a lot more comfortable. But if you still feel you need to see a doctor you can always go to a free clinic like your local Health Department. They will take you and keep things confidential if need be. But I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.

Hello,
I was just wondering if anyone can give me some good vacation ideas? OK, we live in Latrobe, Pa. We only want to go for a weekend. It will be me, my husband & our 2 kids, (3 & 6). We would like it to be somewhat cheap & close by. Even in the Ohio, West Virginia range would be fine. As long as it is in driving distance. So, if anyone had any experiences with any place fun & inexpensive or has any ideas in general it would be greatly appriciated. We can also go to places offering military discounts. Thankyou.

Why not take the family camping in the Poconos? Y'all can go hiking and have cookouts tell, ghost stories around the camp fire, roast those marshmellows. It will be a fun adventure for the kids and definately cost effective, but if that just isn't your cup of tea I've included a website that has vacation spots near you. I'm 13, female, and I weigh about 113.
I'm happy with myself, except for the little "pooch" at the end of my tummy. The rest of my stomach is flat, except for that part. I already do 100 crunches a night, a work out from Seventeen Mag., and I don't drink soda, but I can't loose those extra few inches down there. What should I do?

Well, you could have an antierior tilt of your pelvis common in women though men can get it too. If this is the case it wouldn't matter how hard you worked out the pooch will not go away because instead of working your abbs you are working your psoas muscle which in turn is tightening more and in turn is creating more of a tilt and keeping your pooch intact. You need to find a health professional who is trained in these things and they can give you an assessment. There are some simple stretch exercises that can be done to stretch your psoas back out and reduce/correct the tilt. Once that is done your abbs will be the washboard you wish them to be. Is a tomato a fruit or a veggie???? There are a few of us wondering!

Tomatoes are fruits. Here's the rule of thumb when trying to tell the difference. Anything w/seeds on the inside or outside of it (like strawberries)are fruits and that also includes squash, cucumbers, pumpkins (which is a squash), eggplants, corn, etc. The reason that fruits like tomatoes and eggplants are lumped in w/vegetables is how they are used by cooks. So, grocery stores lump them in w/vegetables. I know, weird but true. Good luck!

I know what I'm about to say is not what you want to hear, but I feel in good conscious I have to caution you against your desire to lighten your skin and this is coming from someone who is very fair skinned of European ancestory. First of all I want to point out that I think dark skin is extremely beautiful and the darker the prettier. If you decide to lighten your beautiful skin you could do irreparable damage to your skin. The melanin in your skin is a natural sun screen and protects you from the harmful rays. As you age you will not show the signs as much as people who are fairer skinned and believe me the older you get the happier you will be with this. how come when people get menopause they are moody?

It's another transition in life. Teenagers are moody because of new burgeoning hormones. It is very difficult for them to understand what is going on w/in their bodies and they react to the hormones. Well, menopause is the same thing. Hormones are shifting and it is difficult for a woman to distinguish the cause of their moodiness. When a feeling that feels like anger pops up for no apparent reason people are use to going with the feeling that they are experiencing rather than looking at where it may be coming from. Another adverse side effectthing of menopausal women is "hot flashes". This is an extremly uncomfortable condition of menopause. In the middle of a blizzard a woman is taking off her coat, scarf, and hat because she is hot. At night when sleeping they can get so hot that they will sweat to the point that they drench their sheets. It is a very uncomfortable condition and since they feel so bad they are moody. The best way for someone going through menopause to minimize these symptoms is not eat commercial meats. They are filled w/hormones that the commercial farmers use to make the animals grow or to keep the cows lactating (a condition these animals need to be in to produce milk). Women don't need anymore hormones. My suggestion for someone who likes meat and dairy is to transition into organically raised animals. These animals are hormone free and much healthier for everyone. Another thing that could help is for them to eat more fresh vegitables and fruits and not drink coffee or alcohol because these items exacerbate the condition. If someone close to you is going through this it is my suggestion that you have patience. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. It could take a few months to a few years, but it does end for most people. Everyone is different though. But what I have noticed is that if someone going through menopause eats a healthier diet their transition is much smoother. What I mean by healthier diet is no fast foods or packaged foods that have ingredients like MSG (MSG also goes by the names Natural Flavorings, Glutamic Acid, Aspartic Acid (aspartam=Nutrisweet), or soy)in them. This really drives women crazy and puts them into really moody behavior. Soy, by the way shuts down the thyroid and causes hypothyroidism a condition that most menopausal women experience(they can't seem to loose weight?) . It simply boils down to the less amount of additives she eats the better she will feel. This is easier said than done, because most people don't want to give up their junk. I have the stuff called "Sun In" that lightens your hair by the sun and my friend told me that was really REALLY bad for your hair..Is that true. Does it damamge my hair? Should I stop using it?

"Sun In" is no worse for your hair than any other hair lightening product on the market today. What you may want to do when using these products is make sure that you condition your hair really well. Believe it or not eggs are a great item for body building protein fortifying your hair along w/olive oil as a sofening and protecting agent. Your hair will be so soft after using these two items on it. But if this isn't your cup of tea than you want to be sure that you find some good conditioners and constantly condition your hair. Another way to lighten your hair, by the way, is to use lemon juice. Even though it is a natural item you still want to condition, condition, condition. These lightening products are very drying on your hair and could lead to a lot of breakage. Good luck, condition and have fun!

im having revival at my church all this week. i forgot to ask off from work, and im the type of person that hates to inconvenience people. i got someone to work for me monday. my only two days are today and friday. today, im supost to be training a new girl(about the 5th one theyve had me train),so, their definetely gonig to be inconvenienced. plus, tomorrow,i have a family graduation party to go to. i just feel bad asking for the whole week off, and inconveniencing them. any ideas on what i can say?

There are only two options I can think of. One, which would be my choice, is to be honest w/them to a degree and let them know that you have a personal emergancy and have to have today and tomorrow off. Your sorry, but it can't be helped and you will make it up to them in some other way later on. The other, which is my least favorite, yet people do it all the time, is to call in sick. If you never call in sick they won't think anything of it. I hope this helps and good luck.

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knew of any numbing stuff you could buy at any store. I need it for my mouth. Please Help!!! I'm in a lot of pain!

There is an essential oil that will work for this and it is clove oil. This is a derivative of the clove spice that cooks use when cooking ham. It completely numbs the gums and some dentists use it for tooth aches and gum diseases. It is an anesthetic and can be used in the treatment of food poisonig and even help keep strep throat and staff infections from taking hold. You can purchase it in most health food stores in the vitamin section. You simply take a couple of drops and put it on the offending area and before you know it you won't feel a thing. It will also aid in healing whatever is causing the pain. This essential oil can be helpful to you in many ways besides your painful mouth. I do feel for you. I hate it when my mouth hurts.
