I am a 20 year old guy in college. I have fun helping people with any of their problems. I fell in love with this site when everybody was so nice to me and helped me fix a problem with a girl awhile back, so I'm back to repay the favor. Many times when we have problems we dont think of the most sensible answer. So if you are looking for a little insight and some help, I'm your guy!

i have a really immature and pathetic problem thats made up of a few little problems. but it's REALLY bothering me and stressing me out.
this part isnt really a problem; two days ago the most amazing, sweetest thing happened to me. "matt" is my best friend. he means everything to me. i am so comfortable with him, can be myself around him, can tell him anything, and our relationship is so important to me. it's so hard to do that with anyone else because i'm kind of shy and insecure. but matt gives me butterflies (link)

It sounds like your two friends will hurt you no matter what happens with Matt. If you go out with Matt, they will probably continue doing what they are doing for awhile. If you dont go out with Matt, it might be hard to forgive them for this fight you guys are having. Ironically, I think you need someone to listen to your feelings and help protect you at school....Someone like Matt would be perfect for you. Plus, if you want to go out with Matt and he wants to go out with you, you should go for it. Just ask yourself this question, "would I rather go out with Matt and both of us be happy, or would I rather say no to him and have Matt's heart broken and have the slim chance of remaining friends with two people who are hurting me right now?" If you are truly best friends with Matt, that will last a lifetime. You lucked out because your best friend is of the opposite gender. Whatever you choose though, if you still care about your friends I would get them some help about them cutting themselves. It could get bad if it gets out of control.

Ok so there is this guy....I like him and I think he likes me but I am not sure. Two weeks ago we were out at the club and he tried finding me but never didn't, so he got my phone number instead and we have hung out 2 times already. He hasnt kissed me only hugged me. Does it sound like he likes me or what? (link)

I'm sure you know how awkward it is at the end of the first date, you dont know whether to hug the person, shake their hand, or kiss them. Sometimes second dates have the same outcome, it can be tough to make the first move. Maybe you can do some subtle stuff like get close to him, grab his hand, whatever. Just look into his eyes when you are close and see what he does, or you can make the first move and lean in to kiss him. Or you can take the more blunt approach and just confront him if you aren't really sure if he likes you or not. Odds are if he's hanging out with you though, that he likes you. Good luck!

Alright, well, my Dog is a Golden Doodle, hes about 10 months old, and has black, longish curly hair. well, we broke the faucet outside, but hes an inside dog. but when we put him outside, and then let him back in, and its like he comes in and drinks too much, and throws up. well, thats what we assumed at first, it was a good theory at first, but we've been keeping him inside, and he just keeps throwing up. well, we live at the border of a park, and theres these big trees, and they drop these pods, I think its a popular tree, the seed pods, teh insides are sticky, and tehy stick ot his fur. my mom thinks hes chewing them out of his fur and eatting them, and getting him sick.
can somebody tell me whats wrong with him??
i'm really worried!! thanks! (link)

The water idea still could be it. My dog drinks his water too fast and he drinks too much of it, and soon after he throws up everywhere, even though he's an inside dog. Try monitoring how much water he gets instead of just putting a huge bowl of water out. Humans do it too. You know after you exercise and you drink a ton of water, sometimes you get a bad stomach ache after that and you wish you wouldn't have drank so much. I would also talk to your vet, I bet they know or have a solution for it.

ok well here it goes
its like this well I like this 1 guy for like ever and he likes me back well lets call him Gerald. Then all of a sudden I like this one guys and he likes me back too lets call hiim Kevin. They're both really nice and cool. But I dont know which one I should go with. I feel that which ever choice i make someone at the end ends up getting hurt. Sometimes I like one more than another sometimes I like them equally but either way im still way way confused. i donn knoe wat to do??? I really really really really like each of them and that makes it soooooooo much harder. (link)

I would just remain friends with both of them, and kind of feel the situation out. As friends, you can just let the love happen. Try to be patient with it and I'm sure you will make the right decision.

So okay. I'm 15/f and the guy is 18...and he talks to me every day...and when I come home and go on MSN...he starts flirting with me.
Some examples of things he says (exact) : baby, boo, baby-blue, love, darling, i love you, do you love me?, I'm gonna wait for you, call me when you're 18 ;)...and like a whole bunch of MSN emoticons...(love emoticons)
he's also very personal with me. Lately, i've been finding all of this flirting around strange. And I confronted him. Whether he likes me or not....he told me he was being JUST friendly...and that I mistook everything for love.
"I love you...more in a friendly kind of way. You mistook friendly for love".
But i know that's BS because when he said it...that he was just being friendly...he was in front of other people.
Is he denying that he has anything to do with me just because of what his friends will think? Cos it sure seems like it...and he was leading me on....and he keeps on doing it! It all seems to lovey to be JUST "friendly" Is this a common thing to happen?
=/ Thanks in advance. (link)

I agree with the advice below. Ask him the same question when he is alone, and make sure you do it in person, not on MSN. I dont think that it's too common for a "friend" to be flirting that much or to say that he loves you. He could be wanting more than friendship too, but may be afraid to come out and say it. Flirting could be his way of leaving hints. But I would confront him again for sure.

I would go ahead and make a move. Maybe he is a little shy and is feeling the same way you do. It seems like you guys get along and have a lot in common. Plus, when a guy teases a girl, it's kind of our way of flirting in a different way. And if he's smiling all the time, That pretty much means he's into you. SO with all that said, I would try to make the first move, or else just really flirt with him until he does. But it sounds to me like he likes you too!

How not to worry about things? (link)

I used to worry about the stupidest stuff back in high school, like the smallest thing would totally ruin my day. I'm not sure what to tell you about actually stopping worrying, but just know that it gets better...If you are really desperate, pick up the book "dont sweat the small stuff." Probably $10 at a bookstore, but it worked for me later in life.

im 13/f and i am in love with this boy i have bn for ages nd ages i cnt give up on him i like him soo soo much i want to tell him how i feel but im 2 shy and i think he wud say no :( (link)

Are you guys friends yet? If not (or even if you are) just start hanging around him a lot. Try to be patient, you said that you wouldn't give up on him. I bet after you guys become friends or better friends, it would be easier for you to ask him.
|
|
so tell me, theres this boy in my school, we don't ever talk, but when i see him he just looks at me. like yesterday we were both after school and he walked past me and was looking at me up and down and came really close to me. he's also in my lunch and when he's in the room he looks at me alot, and when i walk past him in this other room he just looks at me again. so what does this mean? i mean like i'm really confused? he doesn't talk to me so idkk. (link)

It probably means he's really shy but he probably likes you. If you like him or want to get to know him, go ahead and approach him. Just start some small talk. If he smiles a lot then, that definitely means he likes you. If you dont want to have anything to do with him I would just try to ignore it. Take it from me (a pretty shy guy) it can be tough to approach girls or even know what to do when you make eye contact. I'm pretty sure he's not a stalker or serial killer though, so you're probably good there :)

does anyone know what the difference is?is a transfer from a community college a good idea?
i htink i hav to go to a community b/c of some "d"s that i got in 10th grade. is there any other thing i can do to avoid college and go staight to a university without lossing any year?
-im pretty sure a uc won't a allow me in? i think i hav way to many d's (link)

Go ahead and try to apply to some universities. At my college, I am pretty surprised at some of the people who they let in, you never know, they might let you in too. Community college is a good starting spot if you are having trouble getting into a university. Usually community colleges are perceived as a step down from a university and that the graduates aren't as well rounded. But if you can go to a CC for a couple years and get your grades good, I just bet a university would see your improvement and accept you...BTW, I got 2 D's in high school, but managed a good ACT score and had no problem going to the university I wanted. Usually like a 17 or higher gets you accepted. So try studying and taking the standardized tests as well.

i know that showing cleavage is what guys like, but like what kind of cleavage? Like, I am kinda skinny, so the bones in my neck area are kind of visible, more visible as you get closer to my breasts. Is there any way to show cleavage to my advantage? (link)

I'm a guy and I dont know a lot about getting cleavage, i just like the end result :). The only reason I'm answering your question is to give you a bit more confidence. I think that if you can see a girl's collarbone, it's incredibly hot. I dont know why, it just is to me. So dont use that as an excuse and dont worry about your bones.

would wearing a high shirt and low pants turn guys on as much as wearing a low cut shirt? (link)

I'm a guy, and I know this isn't the exact answer you wanna hear, but sometimes it's what you leave to the imagination that really gets me going. Don't wear baggy sweatpants or big sweatshirts (sometimes they are fine). But if you like your body and wear some tight stuff or even outfits you like at the store are usually gonna get us interested. A lot of times you dont have to show a lot of skin (or cleavage for that matter) to get me thinking.

okay im not out of date, im just ready for spring/summer clothes. but i am always reallllllly busy so i dont really have a lot of time to go buy and exstesive amount of new clothes. just little things i see here and there.

I live in a small town with no clothes stores, so I always go to the American Eagle online site (ae.com). They have a lot of pictures and if you find a shirt you like, they'll suggest pants that might go good with that shirt. They also have some good clearance items (sometimes). I usually get my stuff pretty quick too, like in about 3 days. They also have sizes online that they dont have in stores or that are tough to find. That's the main reason I use the site.

What kind of job's can I get at the age of 14 for a female? (link)

I would definitely go with babysitting. It's fun, not too hard, flexible hours, and you can do homework once the kids go to bed. It's tough when you are that young to get an actual job. You can also do it for friends or neighbors.

I'm in a really small university class (only 31 of us in my year of my program).
Lately I've had a really bad rough patch; I was helping one friend out of an abusive relationship, and another friend out of an accidental pregnancy, so that was stressing me out. Added on to this was the fact that I suffer from depression, I'm having serious financial issues, and I've been fighting a lot with my boyfriend (who I live with).
I've had one prof who has really been amazing. When I missed a lot of class, he e-mailed and even called, to make sure I was allright. He's copied out notes that I've missed for me, and he isn't holding my absence against me. He's been really concerned about me, and it's meant a lot to me.
I really want to do something nice for him, but I don't know what. He's in his fifties (I think) and he's a math professor.
The only problem is that I can't really spend much, so storebought gifts are pretty much out of the question.
Any ideas for what to do to thank a professor who goes far beyond his regular duties as an instructor? (link)

I'm in college too and I know how tough it is to spend any kind of money. Maybe you can give him a nice card with a handwritten message about how much you appreciate it and how much he has helped you get through your rough patch. Another nice gesture would be to tell he boss or the department dean how he has gone above the call of duty for a professor. Let the dean know how great of a person he is as well as a teacher. Maybe that will turn into a raise for this great prof.

i have never kissed a guy. i've had boyfriends but only in 6th&7th grade. i'm a freshman in highschool and still no kiss. i mean guys have kissed me on the cheek but i don't think that counts.
i had this party and i was playing this game with all my friends[including guys] and someone asked if we have ever kissed someone. none of the guys said yes and only one girl did. so does that mean that i'm normal? i really want a boyfriend but i never really make it a point to always talk to boys, i have friends that i never stop talking to:p
thanks in advance[sorry its kinda long] (link)

Yeah, absolutely that is normal. Don't rush it either, your first kiss is something you will always remember. I'm a guy and I was 16 by the time I got my first kiss.

Ok so I am expected to make a 25 on my ACT by the time I'm a Senior. I know I can get better than that, but i'm not sure how to. I was wondering what kind of classes I can get to help me up my score. I know this sounds really crazy, but i set my goal at a 30. So is it possible? What kind of classes do I need to take? How many times should I take the ACT? and When is the best time to take the ACT? Thanks (link)

I needed a 24 to get a scholarship for college, and when I took the ACT as a Junior I got a 23. So I bought this ACT book at a college bookstore and ran through it. I didn't even do it in depth that much but I raised my score to a 25 as a senior. This book had a lot of practice tests and kind of showed me what I should be studying. You should take the ACT as soon as you can just to see where you are sitting without studying or taking any classes.

i need a job,and i found out that you can send your applications through the computer,i told my mom about it and she said that its not safe to do that,i thought it might be easier,so basically if i send my application like say petsmart or like chik-fel-a (sp) do you think its safe or not such a good idea ? (link)

Don't send your social security number online or any other information that you do not want them or an identity thief to know. Just request an interview and tell them that you will give them all of your important information in person. I know what it is like though, my parents are paranoid about doing anything online. It's not like identity theft can't happen, but they don't need to completely avoid the internet.

I've been taking Motrin for the past five days. I'm female, in my high teens. I have not seen a doctor, and seeing a doctor is out of the question. I'm taking Motrin that was left over from my brother's war injury. Each pill is 800 milligrams. I take about three Motrin a day, plus about 4 Ibuprofen a day, but I do not take Motrin and Ibuprofen at the same time. And I never take any pills on an empty stomach.
The medicine eases my crippling back injury, but I'm sick as a dog. I looked online for signs of an overdose and then common side effects.
At the website:
http://www.healthsquare.com/newrx/mot1276.htm
it says this:
"What side effects may occur?
Side effects cannot be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, inform your doctor as soon as possible. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Motrin.
Abdominal cramps or pain, abdominal discomfort, bloating and gas, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, fluid retention and swelling, headache, heartburn, indigestion, itching, loss of appetite, nausea, nervousness, rash, ringing in ears, stomach pain, vomiting"
I have pretty much all of the above. The sickness I am feeling is horridly intense. I just want to know... are 'side effects' to be expected?? Or should I be concerned? (link)

I know you do not want to see a doctor, but any lecture, embarrassment, or wasted time or money will be made up if your doctor can prescribe you something better to take. Your back pain would go away as well as the annoying side effects from taking Motrin and the Ibuprofin. If the combination of the two are making you sick, I would seriously stop and/or consult somebody that is an expert in this field. There is no point to suffering, especially if you are only in your high teens.

I've tried numerous workout routines, but they all seem to fail. However, I had a pretty successful one that lasted almost 6 months! The way I did it was I did it with a good friend. We both didn't want to let each other down, so we couldn't use lame excuses not to work out or show up. As for the eating, you dont have to eat like a model everytime, but maybe keep on your mind "instead of this ice cream maybe i could have a yogurt" or "instead of this whole bag of chips, maybe i could just have a bowl full." Good luck....OH, and if your weight and height are true, you are by no means fat. And I'm a guy, take my word for it ;)
