safe application

i need a job,and i found out that you can send your applications through the computer,i told my mom about it and she said that its not safe to do that,i thought it might be easier,so basically if i send my application like say petsmart or like chik-fel-a (sp) do you think its safe or not such a good idea ?

You need to be extremely careful when putting any information online. Even if you're are filling out an application for a well known company, make sure you are using the proper website.

Also, I have found that you are more likely to get an interview if you go to the place in person. This shows determination and an actual desire to work.

Don't send your social security number online or any other information that you do not want them or an identity thief to know. Just request an interview and tell them that you will give them all of your important information in person. I know what it is like though, my parents are paranoid about doing anything online. It's not like identity theft can't happen, but they don't need to completely avoid the internet.

I don't see why it would be a problem, other than your social security number would be out on the net, but it's private, so I wouldn't think there'd be much of a problem. Go for it!
