However, I had a pretty successful one that lasted almost 6 months! The way I did it was I did it with a good friend. We both didn't want to let each other down, so we couldn't use lame excuses not to work out or show up. As for the eating, you dont have to eat like a model everytime, but maybe keep on your mind "instead of this ice cream maybe i could have a yogurt" or "instead of this whole bag of chips, maybe i could just have a bowl full." Good luck....OH, and if your weight and height are true, you are by no means fat. And I'm a guy, take my word for it ;) [ chuckweed007's advice column | Ask chuckweed007 A Question ]

As for the eating I'd say instead of heading for the chips head for an apple or banana. Tell yourself to eat better. One portion of "junk food" a day is good but not every snack! If you run and excersize more you actually feel the urge not to eat more!!
Daimeera answered Tuesday February 13 2007, 4:00 pm: Change your routine a bit every day. If you get stuck doing something a certain way, every time you do it, you'll get even more stuck.
Don't restrict yourself to running. Decide that you're going to do something fun that just happens to involve physical activity--volleyball, soccer, badminton, hockey, jumping rope, juggling . . . the possibilities are endless. If you can do something you enjoy and it gets you up and moving around, you're halfway there.
Set time aside every day that you'll use for exercise. Make an appointment with yourself, just as you would with the doctor--it's your time, and you exercise during it. Be strict, although don't be entirely rigid.
As for the eating, that's a tough one. Make sure you're getting balanced meals and that you're not hungry--if you want to munch, get some carrots or cucumbers and light dip, or even some dry cereal. Watch your portion sizes. Eat salad--leafy greens have virtually no calories and fill you up. Get enough protein and it will keep you feeling full. Don't gorge on carbs, but don't rule them out entirely. No food should be forbidden.
Again, structure might help. Set aside one day per weel when you have one treat, such as a chocolate bar or a bowl of chips. Be aware of how many calories are in these things, but don't obsess.
Eat several small meals throughout the day. Whole grains are good when it comes to carbs--they have more nutritional value and they fill you up. Chicken is very low-fat protein as long as you don't load it up with dressings or sauces. Look for lower calorie alternatives--instead of fast food pizza, put tomato sauce, low-fat cheese, and veggies on a pita or sub bun. Cook hamburgers at home. And don't forget milk! It helps you lose weight--1% or skim is best, and you really will grow to like them if you don't already.
