It's not only dangerous but it's stupid too.
Your dad's health is much more important that some boy. And if something went wrong, i'm pretty sure you'd feel like shit. Plus, your dad is being a parent, if he's not allowing you out all hours of the night, then he's just doing his job & CARING.

There are other ways of getting around this. Tell him you're sleeping over a friends house, and have that friend cover for you. Or simply, sneak out.

I believe that if you want something bad enough... and you have faith in it.... then it'll happen.
Also, I think that you find what it is you want when you're not searching for it. I've noticed that every time I've found the right boy to be with (and I say every time because for that part of my life, that boy has been right, but as I change, so do the men lol) it's cause I wasn't looking for him. When I spendd too much time thinking about it, I dont find what i'm looking for.
When I lose it, I still keep my faith, because not all of them are the same. Some actually are worth while. And the ones that arent dont deserve me =]]

I'm usually pretty happy, but now I'm not.
My dog, Sadie, was born a year after me, and I've never known life without her. She's 13, though, and a big dog. She's had some health problems, and I know that she has little time left. I'm scared. My cat died when I was nine, and that was bad, but she's my best friend, and I'm crying just typing this. I'm really scared that she'll go. I know and understand that everyone goes through this, and that she'll have to go someday, but I'm dreading coming home from my first day of high school and not having my happy girl there to meet me. I, personally, think that she has a week or two left. I am going to my first overnight camp (I know, late), and I'm really looking forward to it, but it would ruin my summer if Sadie died during that, or during our family's cross-country vacation. I know, I'm being very selfish, but I need help. I'm scared that I'll go into depression. Any ideas for getting over the pain and to stop worrying and enjoying life?

You have ALL THE RIGHT to feel this way, and it's not selfish. I personally think losing an animal that you're close with is like losing a person you love. In my eyes, there's no difference.

I'm not saying it wont be hard, especially now. The only thing you can do is appreciate her, and spend time with her. You have to remember that being depressed now is only going to make your time with her seem miserable. Instead, you should be thankful that she's here NOW, and you're able to cherish these times with her.

Take pictures. Find ways to keep the memories, it'll help ease the pain. It will be sad, but you'll have happiness as well.

I recently discovered that my wife isn’t in love with me anymore. She hasn’t left me, but it’s come pretty close. I know that after we had our child, that the spark hasn’t been there. I'll tell you right now that I haven't been through this, but you seem so genuinely in love with her that it makes me want to try to help, even if it's a little.

First, how about going on a "date"?
Set up a time when your child (Im not sure of the age and whether it's necessary) can be left with a babysitter or relatives, and take her out to a restaurant. Play it up to make it a BIG DEAL. The key is to catch her off guard, which every woman loves. Write her a note telling her to be ready at 6 because you have a surprise for her. I'm sure she'll appreciate it. Or, instead of a restaurant, make a nice dinner with candles and the whole works. Surprise her!

Words don't mean too much, but actions do. Does she like flowers? Do you remember the day that you two first went out? Or the day you had your first kiss? Well any of these can be "celebrated" by sending flowers or candy with a note inside recalling the event that took place.

Try to set up a certain time each day, if you can, where the two of you can just talk, take a walk, or take a drive. Quality time is very important.

If you show her how much you care, in return, she'll show the same. The point is to recreate what made you two spark in the beginning. What was it that got you two together and interested in each other? Base it all on that. I really hope you can win her back. Good luck!

I've been on Advicenators for a few years, on and off, and this hasn't been a problem so far.

I received a very hurtful feedback to a question that I tried my darndest to answer well! I know we can file a report, but it wasn't exactly hateful. The person who wrote it was obviously upset, and directed that towards me, even though I obviously put a great deal of effort into my response.

Now I'm seriously thinking of leaving the site. Honestly, I'm only here to help (just like everyone else here) and if people aren't grateful, what's the point in wasting my time?

Rant's over. My actual question is, how do you guys keep from getting upset over hurtful feedback? I'd try not to take it personally, but it is personal. My feelings are hurt :(

Most people on here are grateful, so don't leave, I'm sure most people do appreciate your advice.

I usually ignore the ones that are directing their anger towards me because they are actually just angry at themselves, and take it out on me.

Think about it this way: The people who come on this website are ones that are asking YOU for advice. They are making a point to get everyones opinions, and when they dont like something...too bad!! Don't ask the questions if you dont want our answers.

Anyway that's how I think about it. Don't leave, I'm sure your advice is great because obviously you care.

ive been dating my bf for a year now. a week into the relationship our friend invited my bf, kailey, and i to hang in her pool. i couldnt go, it turns out they dared him to take off his trunks he did. so he was naked in a pool w/2 girls and i didnt find out until a month later from the "friend" that invited them. about a month into the relationship he "cheated" on me with kailey. she asked him to tell her what he would do to her if he didnt have a gf (they were on the phone). he told her he would have laid her on her couch, kiss her, her neck, take off her shirt, kiss her chest, and press against her. he stopped and she said "you can keep going" and he said he had to go to bed. i found out 2 days later from a friend who heard from the friend of kailey. 4 months in they were at a friends house and he had fallen asleep on the couch she sat on him and poked him awake. he told her to get off and he started tickeling her. she started laughing and moving around. they started dry humping for like 3 minutes. i found out 2 days later from him. i droped her and since then i havent let go of any of the three things. we argue alot on it and he brings up the fact that would flirt w/a guy i had liked for months, i ask him ? on the night but he always says "you ask me the same damn ?s all the time ive answered them what more do you want", i want to trust them i want to be friends w/ her and i really want to get over this. i dont let him go because ive been with him for over a year i love him completly and he was my first time so thats not easy to let go. i want ways to get over this or ways to deal w/thsi bc its starting to take over my life. please help thanks.

Ok, I understand that he's your first love and first time and everything. It's tough to get over that, but this boy isn't giving you half the respect, honesty, or loyalty you deserve.

Kailey seems like the worst type of friend you could ever have. She instigated a bunch of this stuff, but even so, he's no better by leading it on more and more. I think you deserve so much better!

The only way you can get over this is if you completely forgive him and trust him. But after cheating on you during the first month (which is supposed to be the happiest and EASIEST to get through), i wouldn't trust him w. anyone and i dont think you will either. If it's so hard to be with him, and he's putting you through this, why be with him? Don't you believe that you deserve better? because you definately do! And i know that because you genuinely care and want to get over it. But it's not that easy.

He's not worth your time, you're so much better than him or Kailey. Personally, I'd break up with him, and just be "friends" with the two of them, this way you don't have to be in the middle, and you don't have to deal with all the drama they put you through.

I know it's hard, but really... why waste anymore time on this loser when you can have someone that will genuinely want to be with you and NOT THINK OF ANYONE ELSE. The type that will respect you. I'm sure you'll find him. But i'm also sure it's not your current boyfriend.

I can sympathize with you, but I don't agree with cutting, becoming anorexic or commiting suicide. They will NOT EASE THE PAIN. It's more of a cop out.
If you feel things are at their worst, then the only thing left to happen is them getting better. It takes time, and I know it can seem like a while, but things WILL start going your way.
School friends come and go, whether it's sooner or later. For months at a time I moved from school to school and it was UNBEARABLE. never made and friends because I was shy so EVERYONE decided "the new girl's a freak". I KNOW it's hard, but after a while, they DO GET BETTER, i promise.
There are many ways of dealing with your mom. You can suggest that the two of you see a therapist or counselor, but if you're not into that thing, I suggest telling her you want to spend some time with her and talk. Set the rules that you two can't fight at this time, and see what happens. Go out, whether it be to a park or just a car ride, it'll help to communicate.

I understand you completely. But think about this before you have sex... Once you loose your virginity, it's gone forever. If this boy worships the ground you walk on, why not wait? what's the rush? if you know that the two of you are gonna be together for a long time, why start now? take your time!

Also, losing your virginity is what a lot of girls regret, and most of the time it's not because they did it with the wrong guy, it's because they did it at the WRONG TIME. they feel slutty and loose because they decided at an early age that they were going to have sex.

It takes about an hour to get them off, give or take fifteen minutes. It all depends on your orthodontist. Personally, I don't know if it's longer to get them on or off, because I got my top & bottom on different days. I believe it takes less time to get them off.

When you get your braces off, some orthodontists bleach the teeth, which is the best way to have amazingly white sparkling teeth, which i recommend. So talk to your orthodontists about that, believe me it works better than any whitening strips or stuff like that.

so my band director hes in like his 20's & hes married. We are really close like he's my second dad, I trust him alot. Since we have such a close relationship we walk to classes together or like we'll be in band & he'll pick me out of the crowd to do an errand. My favorite is when my lunch table goes up to get lunch he sits w/ me & keep me company b/c I pack. He also lets me come down for a lesson whenever I please, like all i would have to do is show up & he doesn't care because he's happy to help me but w/ everyone else they need to be assigned a lesson time. EVERYONE thinks him & I are doing it. It's ridiculous. I tell everybody that we are just chill &.. his wife is pregnant! It's crazy I can't be anywhere in the hallway w/ him alone or people would whistle. What's your take on our relationship, creepy.. it's to close.. we should be strictly teacher student?

It's not a big deal since nothing is going on HOWEVER it is a big deal when people think you are. Although you shouldn't listen to what people say, he can get into a lot of trouble if people start talking too much and administration & security find out.

In my opinion, it seems like he's crossing the student/teacher line. It's great that he treats you this way, but there should be a professional barrier.

Also, when kids (high school/middle school doesn't matter) get drama started, they find it amazing to watch. The problem with that is that some kid might let it slip that you two are "involved" and he can get fired, or forced to resign. This is horrible, of course, especially since he's got a kid on the way.

I suggest you find a way to ease it up a little bit because you dont want any trouble starting. I'm not saying stop talking to him, but dont give people reasons to start rumors that can harm you and him.

Susan Boyle recently became famous for entering the British tv program "Britain's Got Talent"
She has an absolutely amazing voice, but the reason she got so much attention was because when she walked on stage she was a complete mess....regarding her hair, no makeup, clothing style etc. However once she started singing, it was amazing and everyone fell in love with her. Now she's doing a little make over.
