So, I used to be a rather social child, even with strangers (not safe, I know), but I had tons of friends and I was a bit of a wild child. For some reason, at the beginning of this year, I suddenly don't like people. I mean, I don't mind watching people, but it's being around them. Like, if I go to the mall, I get super nervous and I've almost hyperventilated once. My mom says I'm just being a dramatic teenager, but I don't think so. I just get afraid that people are watching me or that something bad is gonna happen and it twists up in my gut and everything. And I always go with my gut instincts because a couple years ago, I got a bad feeling in my stomach the day someone jumped me at school (for hanging out with someone else). Do I have a phobia of public places and people in general? I'm just curious, because I really don't mind being alone. In fact, my best days are when I'm completely alone in my room with the computer... I'm sure that's unhealthy, though.

Sounds kind of like me. I was a wild child, too and had no fears. I would make friends pretty easily, but now I'm more cautious. I'm more pleasant than friendly to people I don't know. I guess it's normal because nowadays, you just never know who you're dealing with and it's best to be sure about who someone is before opening up.

I also spend a lot of time alone in my room on my computer. I'm an introvert. Nothing wrong with that.

Maybe you have some insecurities to deal with which is making you feel paranoid in public. Figure out what they are, so you can change the things that are making you insecure or learn to accept them.

I don't go out very much and I don't have a lot of money. (that makes me sound like a hobo. I'm not a hobo. just saying.)

Olive oil is great for the skin. I'm not sure if it will heal acne, but it definitely moisturizes the skin. I know it seems like it will make your face greasy, but put it on at night and rinse off in the morning.

I don't know if it's "normal" but doing what everyone else perceives as normal may night be beneficial to you, anyways. I'm 20 years old and have never been kissed. It honestly doesn't bother me. Being kissed doesn't mean being loved. I know I have people that love me, so it's not a big deal. Focus on your goals and ambitions for the time being. In the mean time, you'll give guys a chance to mature a little more :)

qill it matter if every day i eat a 400 calorie pizza? but at the end of each say i have 1400.

i include fruit and veggies and a lot of water just i love pizza so i focus my day around that.

Try to make sure that your other meals consist of enough protein, so that you don't lose any muscle.

Be open to learning. Seriously, I feel like the whole purpose and fun of life is all the things you can learn. Find someone who is really good at something and ask them to teach you their skill. Maybe you know someone who can play an instrument, write poetry or read people's emotions. Learn! :)

Hi, my friend and I want to start a babysitting business and we need some tips on how to convince our parents that we're old enough to become babysitters. We also could use some ideas for a name, price(we are planing on becoming certified babysitters).

Personally, I think you both may be a little too young to babysit. Maybe you should advertise yourself as "mother's helpers". This would mean that you would act as the babysitter, but the parent would still be home. You would just be giving them a break while they get stuff done around the house.

i read an article online where a woman cut her calories.
she ate like a person of the goal weight she wanted ate (that amount of calories)
for example if she wanted to weigh 115lbs shed consume as many calories it takes for someone at 115 lbc to maintain that weight.

she lost 26lbs in 1 month doing this. with little to no exercise really.
is this truly possible? i want to loose that amount as well.

No. It is not possible. Without exercise, you should be losing 1 pound a week if you have a daily deficit of 500 calories.

I've been going up and down with psychological problems. I have an eating disorder, which is more than likely endos. But lately, I've been restricting for the past 2 weeks, basically fasting on water, and purging the bits I eat on days I choose to. So my mind's been a bit foggy. I'm trying to fix that, but what has been bothering me lately is. I can't seem to make any sense of the reason I'm doing this. I just know apart from wanting to be thin, it's not so I can be a pretty thin girl, but to try to look like a thin boy? It really makes me feel stupid and crazy. I'm not sure what my sexuality is and I don't really care. I just wish I was or at least looked like a boy. But it's a specific type of boy. You know, those scrawny, tall, dorky, cute looking boys. I don't really know what I'm asking. I'm sorry, but it's starting to really agitate me. I see myself and I try to change but fall back, why do I wish to look like that. I think I'm just psychotic.

You are not psychotic. I do believe, however, that you are a little too involved in your looks. Why do you have to look "scrawny" and "tall" to be the person you want to be? Especially when it's putting your health in jeopardy. Looking a certain way will not necessarily give you the personality you want. These are two separate things. Work on your personality if you'd like, but having to match that personality to your body just means you want to be a stereotype. Don't be afraid to surprise people by having a personality that contrasts your appearance.

If you belong to a YMCA or any reputable organization, it would be a good idea to post on their bulletin board. People will feel safer knowing that the person offering to babysit is a member of the organization rather than a random person off the street. Also, for your safety, you know that they are a member and not a random creeper. I'm not saying everyone that has a membership to a YMCA is "safe", but in general, it's safer than advertising anywhere else.

Hi! I'm a 20 year old female and I'm very short and petite. I'm 5 ft. Tall and I weight about 108 pounds. I'm at my weight but because I'm so short and small framed, I would feel more comfortable weighing about 96 to 98 pounds. I have weighed much more than now and much less and 96 before. I am comfortable now but I know I'd be much more comfortable at 98 or even 100 because of my size and structure. I am going to start a healthy diet but I guess what I'm looking for is tips. Hey there. I'm a 20 year old female. I'm about 5'7 and 175 pounds. Apparently i hide it well because a lot of people say i only look like i'm 145-150. I've noticed the past couple months i've gained about 30 pounds. I do have a problem with over eating. I cant help it i feel like its out of control. I've stopped eating fast food completely this past month and the scale cant tell. I even cut out soda and have been drinking water. My problem is that if i dont have the "engorged" feeling i want to keep eating. Even if i'm not starving hungry any sudden signs of i can fit food in my stomach ill eat. I do have a YMCA gym membership but i find it hard to get motivation to go. My husband is deployed and i want to get in better shape for when he comes home in November but once again no motivation. Hey :) I'm 20/F and had this problem a few months ago. I couldn't imagine a meal that didn't leave my stomach feeling extremely full. Now, everything has changed and for the better! I eat my calories throughout 4 separate mini-meals. Since I wake up so late (noon) I eat my first meal then and stop at 8pm. The smaller time frame between meals has helped a lot. Make sure that you are eating enough protein/fat to help you feel satisfied. Also, fiber like in apples can give you a healthy full feeling.

My best friends mom thinks I'm like a bad influence because I am vegan, and eat organic. I mean clearly she must be uneducated in health. Sure best friends mom you can slurp up some more aspartame, and down another quart of sugar, but I wont. I am 15, and I do not know how to confront this problem. I do not care what her diet consists of...so why does she hate me for mine?

Her mom probably doesn't care about your food choices. Maybe it's the fact that you're expressing them in a way that makes you sound arrogant. Nobody wants to be judged by what they eat, so let her slurp up aspartame without cringing or commenting on it. What you feed your body is all you can be responsible for. What somebody else feeds their body is something that isn't your business.

i want to know why i can't seem to lose weight! it's been a month already. i've controlled my portions, i've cut out sweets, sodas, etc. (i'm asian, so we mostly eat rice and noodles, but i've been watching my intake on that too), i do an hour of cardio/lift weights 6/7 days a week. i don't know what i seem to be doing wrong, i would think i would've lost at least like, 5lbs by now but i don't see any physical results! what am i doing wrong?

I'm not saying that any one food will stall weight loss, but you need protein.

Protein will build muscle, while carbs (rice and noodles) give you energy. Balance the two.

I doubt you want to stop eating. Food is great! :) but it's important to use it the right way. I would recommend eating 3 meals a day plus a treat at the end of the day. Having something to look forward to at the end of the day may motivate you to eat sensible portion sizes in the meals before.

I had an interview today for an internship I found on craigslist. However, when I arrived at the given address, the location turned out to be in some extremely shady apartment building. Nobody even answered or buzzed me in when I rang the bell. So, naturally, I went home.

They sent me an email 30 minutes after my interview time asking where I was, and I still haven't replied. What is the polite way of saying that I went home because nobody answered and I'm not interested in the job anymore?

Just tell them that you have found another job, but thank them for considering you. You don't have to go into details.
