If you belong to a YMCA or any reputable organization, it would be a good idea to post on their bulletin board. People will feel safer knowing that the person offering to babysit is a member of the organization rather than a random person off the street. Also, for your safety, you know that they are a member and not a random creeper. I'm not saying everyone that has a membership to a YMCA is "safe", but in general, it's safer than advertising anywhere else.

Many supermarkets, at least those where I live, have community bulletin boards where you can post notices such as ads to baby sit. Take a sheet of paper and write your ad. at the bottom cut tear offs with your phone number on them so anyone who would like to call you can take the number with them.

I would be remiss if I did not add this. Advertising on a community bulletin board is an inexpensive way to advertise a service. Given the times we live in I would suggest you talk with your parents first before you do something like this and very more so before you go to meet or sit for someone you or they do not know.

I'm not trying to scare you or dissuade you from making money. As a parent I just want to be cautious. Chances are nothing would ever happen and that the people who call you just want your baby sitting service. As a father I would want the chance to meet these people and just satisfy myself that they are who they say they are. Especially if I do not know them.

So my advice is to discuss this with your parents, then follow their advice.
