I set up this advice column because I think giving advice is a great way to help out people with their problems, and it's also a way to help myself with struggles as a grow more and more into the real world. when you get your period, is it like the same feeling when you pee in your pants? and how do you prepare for your period, like so it doesn't stain your pants or whatever when you first get it?

well.. the feeling of your period is kinda rough, if you just got it, you know? Because like, you get cramps in your stomach, and the feelings kinda icky.. it`s not entirly like peeing in your pants though! lol, when i first got mine, i bought actual like pads, and then i bought smaller protective pads. They`re made just for the moments you THINK you have your period. I`m sure you can buy them at any designated store where they sell normal pads & tampons and stuff. Just keep a couple of pads in your bag, and bring some wherever you go, so your always ready. Talk to your mom more about this, and she`ll be sure to help you out!

AHHHHHHHHHH help pleease i put on that fake tanner crap yesterday and today it looks so gross it's all blotchy and stuff so is there anything taht i can use to take it off or not make it as noticeable! i dont want to ask my mom cause i wasn't suposed to use it without asking

a washcloth.. and good soap might make the tan become more lighter, and then eventually over a couple of days, the tan will fade..

so you wanna fit in with your friends?.. well, if your being left out from your so called "friends" i don`t really think that you wanna be friends with them in the first place?! i think that you should just be yourself, find some new friends, and whatever happens, happens you know!? you shouldn`t have to change yourself just to make friends? i say, just go with what your heart thinks.. who cares about those other girls.. the best way to make yourself happy and to gain more friends, is to be true to yourself and to be true to everyone around you, thats it.

I am the person who loves to be creative and unique. I like doing my own thing..as long as its different from everyone else. But A LOT of people tend to copy me. From buying the same outfits as me..to..copying my profiles, quotes, ideas, etc. I know it's supposed to be a compliment. But like i said, i just like being original and dont want anyone copying me or ripping off my stuff. Any suggestions on how I should deal with this?

well.. you can`t really do much about it!? Yeahh, i hate when people copy me too, but, i get over it, and i know that they just do it because they like my style & stuff, like you said before. I guess you could try doing things differently.. wear something that`s not really commonly found in store, for all of your quotes, profiles, and ideas, try trademarking them, with the TM sign, becuase under law, if you have that sign, it`s yours and no one, NO ONE, is allowed to take it. Find a different creativity spark, something ingenius, but still keep to yourself, you know?

hi, it's the same person who asked you advice on how to convince my mom to let me shave my legs. i didn't ask her about nair yet, but isn't that like chemicals that do it, well i know my mom doesn't like, especially want me to use chemicals to get the hair off. sorry to bother you again but my mom is such a weird person because she won't let me shave until i'm 15 (when i'm like 12 already)- and the hair on my legs is like black!!! she says i'm too young WHEN I AM NOT!) uhhh! i hate her. she won't let me do like ANYTHING!

well.. it`s not entirely chemicals i think? but.. i`m sure it`s 100% safe, but if your mom is really protective like that.. then you have no choice but to wait? but my choice is NAIR all the way.. it`s a good start for kids your age who aren`t suppose to really shave yet. So try explaining to your mom again all the affects of using NAIR, and how safe, and easy, and well worth it is..

Hey guys. Well.. tonight I went to a club for the first time, and met this really great guy. He asked to dance with me, and we did for a while, and attempted to talk a bit (but the music was so loud, so we went and sat down) He introduced me to some of his friends too. Anyway, I had to leave early.. and out of nowhere I asked for his number. This is TOTALLY out of character for me. I'm usually shy around guys, but hey. He gave it to me and then I gave him mine, and then he walked me to the door. I may be being paranoid, but was this coming across a little too eager or forward? I had a feeling he wanted to ask, but I could be wrong. Also, should I contact him first or let him contact me? I'm just totally new to this kinda thing and lost.

well.. if asking for his number was, a little out of character for you, it`s ok, it`s how you meet guys! if your not out of your boundaries then it`s tough to get a guy sometimes. alritee.. so asking for his number was a good start.. now talking to him. I think that you should call him first! haa, don`t be shy, just go ahead, relax and call. What could go wrong? Talk about the night at the club, talk about his friends, talk about anything really! =] just be calm, cool, and collected! be yourself and have fun with it..

Alright. I've been dating my boyfriend for over ten months and we've started to have a lot of problems. Around the six month marking period we starting getting into a lot of arguments and got upset with eachother easily. This has been going on for the past three or four months. He's in a different state for a couple of weeks and I usually get to talk to him, but for some reason this trip is different. I've talked to him maybe 30 minutes in total in a week or so. So I went to a party today and I met a guy that I had seen during drumline camps and stuff. He invited me along with a bunch of other drumline people to come over to his house. We got to talking and stuff and he texted me while we were watching fireworks with everyone if I wanted to hang out with him sometime, that'd be fun. So, I texted him when I got home and told him that'd be fun. The thing is IDK what to do. I don't know if i can go on much longer with my current boyfriend the way things are going. This other guy is dropping hints like crazy that he wants to know me better. "I haven't had a girlfriend in over a year, so yeah" and so on. please help.

Maybe you should dump your other guy first. It seems like you guys aren`t really pulling it off too much at all, uhh!? So i say dump your guy, and go try someone different, to change it up you know. [no affence but your guy seems well.. dull & problematic..] lol, juss playin =] anyways.. The guy you met at the party could be a good fresh start. Don`t go into this so quickly though, get to know the guy well enough before you start actually dating him & stuff. And if things seem to start looking great with him, go for it!

Can one get sick from eating old graham crackers? They're probably about 3 months old, and I guess the package was left open. haha They're not dusty, but they're soft and chewy, very bizzare...

D0 N0T, AND i REPEAT, D0 N0T EAT THEM!! In 3 months; do you know what could get inside that and infect it with digusting germs and bacteria?? Yeahh, they might now SEEM dusty, but who knows, there could be dust right there. Soft & chewy.. haa that gives a bad name to graham crackers!! And the box was open too! gee.. do you know that bugs could possibly get in??.. they probably have by now!! i`m sorry to burst your bubble, but unless you wanna eat those graham crackers really badly, i say just throw them away!.. N0W!

my mom won't me shave my legs and i'm turnung 12 like next week. she says i'm too young when i'm not. i mean i'm gonna 12 like very soon and she still won't let me shave my legs. is there any way to convince her to let me shave my legs because if i shave behind her back she tends to get very mad when i do something behind her back which is rarely though. i'd say the hairs are like very close to black (i have brown hair though) so they show a lot. i also wear a lot of shorts and skirts so they seem so show much. please PLEASE help me because i really don't like the hair on my legs. thanx SOO much if u can help =)

well.. there`s an alternate route for shaving your legs, explain to your mom that there`s this product called "NAIR".. [if you`ve ever heard of it-- trust me, it`s really good, it`s ME recommended! lol] well it`s a lotion designed to shave you legs without the hassel of scary and hurtful cuts when mis-shaving. I used that when i was your age, and my mom was fine with it, but now i do shave my legs. It`s a great lotion because, it only takes 4 minutes, and it really gets the hair under your legs.. i`m pretty sure it last just as long as a normal shave. Just tell her about it and if she conciders it, then your on your way to hair-less legs! =)

Hey everyone.. well i'm kinda worried.. i don't kow what is wrong with me! i feel really guilty whenever i eat. i'm pretty sure it's not anorexia but i just dont know what it is. i've gradually started eating less and less because the guilt is just overwhelming. im 99 pounds and 5'2" and i know that's liek average or whatever but when i look in the mirror i always just see myself as HUGE. i have been getting really bad headaches lately from not eating as much as i usually do but its not enough to make me eat more because i just keep thinking about what my thighs would look like if i ate say a cheeseburger. at first i just started eating healthy foods but now im even afradi that THOSE foods will make me fat. help!!!!








honey, first off, if you weigh 99 pounds, you are N0T FAT!.. so there`s really nothing to worry about. Second of all, you HAVE to eat. It`s what keeps you alive, and you wanna live ritee? you shouldn`t be feeling guilty about yourself. Maintain a good balance of healthy foods and junk food [just a little every now and then], and exercise! you can eat a cake for all i care, you still won`t be fat, as long as you don`t make things like that a daily habit. If your really still curious, ask a doctor, and he`ll be sure to give you more advice and comfort on this topic.

14/f -- my friends in I call ourselfs "the crew". Mainly, it's me & my boyfriend, his best friend & his girlfriend [my best friend], and occasionally a few others. We all have open relationships were we tell each other everything. Except we don't tell our b/f&g/fs everything so we kinda share secrets and give advice and such. The other day my bf's best friend [he just happens to be my ex] told me that he still has feelings for me and thinks about me more than his girl. now, he keeps talking to me about this and trying to get me to cheat on my boyfriend with him.. i'm not gonna, but what should i say to him to make him back off??

if you already have someone who you love dearly, then just tell him straight forward, no i`m sorry, i`m already with someone, something like that. Just let him know that your not interested, at any matter, in him.. he should back off by then, but if he`s one of those pesky bugs, then you gotta sqwish him! seriously, if he wont back off by then, you gotta take matters into your own hands.. i wonder why in the first place, he doesn`t understand *moving on*.. geee!! guys!!? go figure =]

figure out what your actually good at, and if your still stuck, the pick something you know will interest you, something you know you won`t quiz easily, and something that you know you can put your heart and soul in. All of your choices are good choices, you can`t go wrong with being all of them. I mean, your only 13, soo am I, we have plenty of time to decide what we want to be. You could also people that know you the most, and get feedback on what they said. Personaly, i went with dancer, but you shouldn`t be listening to me! it`s what Y0U want to do!

13/f i'm not really like a schoolgirl or anything, but let's just say "rocker" is not my label. still, i like the look. what are some ways to get the not-outrageaous but not-TOO-subtle ways to get a slight rockerish look without looking like a total poser? thankz

BTW my 'rents aren't too into the whole rocker thing so if you suggest any clothes or accesories, plz make them something my mom would actually BUY me or i would actually be allowed to wear...and no make-up.

well.. i guess PACSUN could be a good place to start.. but i`m not really sure what you mean about "rocker".. byt rocker do you mean something on the lines of, avril or ashlee? try unionbay, it`s more edgy taste if you know what i mean.. rocker, rocker, lets see.. well, frankly, i dont know that many stores that sell "rocker" clothes.. i guess if you wanna wear something more "outragous" so to say, but still have the aproval of mom, go with the punk rock/girly side of hilary duff. if you ever check out magazines with her, shes been a little more, rocker lately than girly.. try pink & black, or more dark colors mixed with something bright and alive.. you know what i mean??
