rockerish? i rate 5's to those who help!

Question Posted Monday July 4 2005, 2:32 am

13/f i'm not really like a schoolgirl or anything, but let's just say "rocker" is not my label. still, i like the look. what are some ways to get the not-outrageaous but not-TOO-subtle ways to get a slight rockerish look without looking like a total poser? thankz

BTW my 'rents aren't too into the whole rocker thing so if you suggest any clothes or accesories, plz make them something my mom would actually BUY me or i would actually be allowed to wear...and no make-up.

thankz everyone!

aaaaahhh no..damnit..ok if your not a "rocker" then dont be one..if you dont lisen to rock music dont be a "rocker" or i GARONTEE you will be called a poser..dude..no..seriously if thats not who you are dont change..heres a story..just for you because im trying to help you and save you from becoming a poser..isnt that what were supposed to do on here? yes..anyways here you go..

(its a true story so dont be like "you probibly made that up you bitch")

story: this girl..at my school..was a cheerleader and not a "rocker" as you called it..but then she started wearing punkish cloths didnt change her makeup, but started wearing punkish cloths and people started calling her a poser and saying that she was "all scene" now..so now everyone thinks of her as a poser..
therefore that is why i dont think u should do it..if you really want to then heck go for it..w/e floats your boat..but i say NOOO!

I wouldent go directly in to STuff like converses, or heavy metal stuff. WHy not start out by finding a tee with a band you like. or but some cool little pins and put them on your purse or bag or whatever. BUt dont go directly in to the rocker scene. People will call youu a poser.
Gradually work your way up.
Hope i helped

MELiixMARiiE answered Monday July 4 2005, 2:42 pm:
Well what I would do is try the Ashlee Simpson thing. She's has that slight rockerish side.. but then whenever you see her in magazines sometimes.. she has on pretty dresses and stuff, but she adds her own rockish flare to it. So just try taking some clothes and maybe cutting them up a bit, or adding some really cool jewlery likes some long necklaces and maybe rubber braclets and stuff. And have some black nail polish on. Just be creative. =) So the next time you're out shopping or something, go the magazines and buy some that have Ashlee Simpson on them and just look for all the little knick knacks ( haha ) that she adds and do similiar things. Hope I helped!!

MELii

Well you could:

1. straighten your hair
2. dye your hair with semi-permanent black dye (the kind that washes out in 28 shampoos)1 and 2 can be found a Longs Drugs
3. get some tight black jeans that flare at the end or tear up some blue jeans
4. Go to a thrift store and find your ideal belt.
5. wear black nail polish
6. find a black spaghetti strap shirt, if your mom and your school will allow it.
7. Go to the drugstore and buy dark lip gloss. It's totally "appropriate" and looks good.

...and about makeup...

just wear a little bit of eyeliner. Sharpen a eyeliner pencil and draw a blunt but straight line right along your lower eyelashes if you're inexperienced. Use a wet Q-tip and wipe away most of it so its barely visible. It makes your lower lashes look thicker without anyone really being able to tell its there. It looks really good. Or, just line the top lid. For the top you need one of those spongey things. sponge it right under the fold of your eyelid so you can see just a stripe of black.

hope I helped

you can't be a so called 'rocker' and not wear make-up. it is impossible. you atleast need some eyeliner. or you will look like a poseur. i usually dont help people trying to be something they are not but ill help you i guess. go with darker colors. like my mom said she wanted me to dress more girlish so what i get her on is pink and black, cherboard is a must of course. but that is more ska-ish but ska is so cool too.
you need a black hoodie, but with the zipper in the front, i guess that wouldn'y be a hoodie but oh well.
if you cant get away with black fingernail polish, like my school wont let us wear it (wft thay are not our parents) but anyways just wear a dark color like dark blue or purple.
i would say for starters shop at pac-sun and journey's though journeys is more a shoe store. and what you can do is go online and order stuff from hot-topic so you can show your mom just that one thing you want so she wont be in the store because the store is not the place for a mom. but anyways that way you dont have to pay for it.

aren't i so special? aren't you glad i just didnt write get a life?

hope that helps!

well.. i guess PACSUN could be a good place to start.. but i`m not really sure what you mean about "rocker".. byt rocker do you mean something on the lines of, avril or ashlee? try unionbay, it`s more edgy taste if you know what i mean.. rocker, rocker, lets see.. well, frankly, i dont know that many stores that sell "rocker" clothes.. i guess if you wanna wear something more "outragous" so to say, but still have the aproval of mom, go with the punk rock/girly side of hilary duff. if you ever check out magazines with her, shes been a little more, rocker lately than girly.. try pink & black, or more dark colors mixed with something bright and alive.. you know what i mean??

well i`m sorry that i couldn`t be of much help to you! =(
best of luck!
