All of your choices are good choices, you can`t go wrong with being all of them. I mean, your only 13, soo am I, we have plenty of time to decide what we want to be. You could also people that know you the most, and get feedback on what they said. Personaly, i went with dancer, but you shouldn`t be listening to me! it`s what Y0U want to do!
vickiooos answered Tuesday September 28 2004, 11:35 pm: No one said that you can't do all of it =D! I was like that in really 7th grade. I had about 20 career paths I wanted to take and even now that I'm in highschool I'm still trying to lower the level of jobs I want to like 10! lol. Do what you want to do and what makes you happy! It'll be a rough road to get there but then again anything and everything is a rough road. So keep your chin up! [ vickiooos's advice column | Ask vickiooos A Question ]

There are Dance Clubs, Chorus Clubs, Poem Clubs, etc. If they are not available at your High school, I'm sure there are in your city. good luck! takingfive answered Wednesday April 28 2004, 7:53 pm: The average adult changes their job/career 8 times during their lifetime. You are 13. I know 30 year olds that still live in their parent's basements and don't have a clue what they are doing with their lives.
You don't need to be picking a career when you're 13. Do lots of different things, or else you could be missing out on something you're really good at. When I was 13, I probably wanted to be an astronaut or a ballerina or something like that... But since then, I have changed my mind about 47 times. I'm 19, and I still have no idea what I want to be. That should give you some sort of consolation, although, the 30 year olds in their parent's basements is a much funnier story. [ takingfive's advice column | Ask takingfive A Question ]
koshii answered Wednesday April 28 2004, 3:44 pm: Hi Bailey
Actually you shouldn't try to pick one. Do them all. Have you danced before, and how long have you been doing it? If you want to dance professionally, experience is absolutely key for success. My 13-year old sister has been dancing since she was 4.
Singing is about the same--start as soon as you can, and do it publicly, such as in church or school talent shows. It's hard to make it as a performer, but if you have a unique idea you can do it.
For a poet, I'd say read all the poetry you can. Don't overlook a book of poetry just because it is "old". Some of the most beautiful poems ever written are over a hundred years old. Read everything and it will help you feel the language in your head as you write.
Since you're only thirteen, practice everything you want to do, and when you get to high school and college you can begin to focus your classes and efforts into these things, and then see which one works best with you. But don't forget to try things you'd never think of otherwise. There are a lot, LOT of things you can do that might take you by surprise and are tons of fun. FernGully answered Tuesday April 27 2004, 3:46 pm: its great that you're thinking ahead. It might be tough to get into the business of dancing, singer or writing poems but film maker is not so far fetched.
If you were to become a film maker you could use all of your talents in writing and performance to your benefit to make some really awesome films. I would say - look into the business of film making, try and organize your own mini film with some friends as actors. Get onto the career websites at your school or even at home in your own time and find out what being a professional film maker entails. [ FernGully's advice column | Ask FernGully A Question ]

Study. Just study them all...maybe there's someting that irks you about one of those. I hate it when I have to think about the light and stuff when I take photos. But I still love photograpghy.
Anyway, you can combine some jobs. Some singers write their own songs. So...you can sing & dance, writing poetry about how you feel, and make a film about it :p.
Just a thought.
Your still young. I wanted to become a doctor of some kind but easily can creep out when the sight of blood. :-/ eh...I still love horror movies.

Seems like u got your goals set and thats real good for someone at your age. Stay focus girl and you can do anything. Well first figure out wat you are good at doing the best, narrow your choices down. Trust me they have programs for all those careers.. look into them. Like go to school for dance, enter a poem in a contest, or read poetry at a Cafe..... Sing in your school choir, church, anywhere... progress your voice.. for the movies.. have some fun and make movies with friends see how you like that, its alot of things you can do. But good luck with wat u decide to do. And i really admire how you want to pursue your goals right now.. Keep it up [ AuTy's advice column | Ask AuTy A Question ]
FallenAngel answered Monday April 26 2004, 5:58 pm: You're young...you have a lot of time to figure what you want to do in the future. During the time you have to figure out what you want to do...just try each career in different kinds of way. Go to a karokee night, perform, write poems, make scripts. Even if you can't figure out what you would like to do...you can do all of these in the future too. You don't have to set a permanent career choice, especially when youre only 13. You have a lot of time to figure out what your true passion is. Good luck!

Cspinoza1 answered Monday April 26 2004, 3:58 pm: Dear Career,
Well your still young so you have plenty of time to figure out what you want to do. The question is which one do you feel most connected with. I will not tell you to don't think about your future at your age because I was the same as you when I was 13, all I thought about was my future. Another question is when your older how much do you want to make? Like dancers make money only if you are awesome (its like soccer players you have to be awesome not good, so its hard to get good money. To be a singer its not as hard you just need to practice get in a band or recording studio and do your thing, get noticed at a club and get noticed, but since the industry is going through a rough time right now you might want to make sure your sound and lyric stand out and is completely different than todays music. Poem writters don't make much money only because most of your work is never published or seen until your death (take emily dickinson for example) so putting food on your table is going to be hard. As for being a film maker you make money (I am going into directing so I'm already a amature director) I could tell you so much about this job, but the things you need to know are things you cannot learn from a book, only by making your own mistakes. So with that in mind if money is your object of desire look what I told you above, but if its all about passion do each one to the max and find out which one you feel more connected to, which on can you see yourself doing for the rest of your life?
Just do what you love and the rest of your life will fall into place.
