Q: I am a freshman at college. My roomate and I met at our orientation adn decided to room together. I really love her and she is super nice but she is getting on my nerves! The problem is that we have the same friends, eat together, basically we are always together and i know that is why i am starting to get super annoyed with her. If i were to go off and do something without her, she would get mad. How can i discreetly distance myself from her (without telling her about my problems)?

Honestly, if you want to do something by yourself do it. If she gets mad about it just let her know you wanted some or want some time by yourself to do things sometimes. What are you going to do if you meet a guy (unless you have a boyfriend) and she wants to tag along with you for that to. I mean keep a strong roomate relationship that is defintly important but everyone needs their space. Even in marriages.

Truth. I think you should try things with this new guy if you like him just take things slow. its a good way to move on.

I had my virginity stolen. i was raped at 13 and i think that is why after words i didn't care i had sex with boys ended up a teen mother which i don't regret. but be careful im not sure how old you are but take your time. wait for mr right be with that guy for a while and use protection. be on birth control.

Q: me and boyfriend after being together a year and a month have decided to "break up".
i am moving out of his place and back into my house with my family.
we have had malicious fights and now we are doing this to
"save our realtionship". does that sound ethical?
i mean we both still love eahcother and will hang out--i will give him rides to school (we have class togther) and work (we still work together lol) and yeah.
we just needed to be ourselves again and not like an old mean fighting married couple that we turned into.
he also has alot he needs to work on like his anger problems and self control- one big reason we broke up....

take things slow. i dont know your age but you sound young. so be careful. rushing things can really hurt and i am glad you all are moving out and taking some time a part. I think you to should "date" do the teenage thing. movies, dinner, skating things like that. start over refresh your relationship.

maybe she really likes you? doesn't want to rush things scared that doing something right now could ruin your relationship. the worst thing you can do is make her feel prepressured into having sex or doing anything she isn't ready for. just because she did those things with another guy doesnt mean she is ready with you he may have forced her in some sort.

being forced is the same as rape. weather she or you see it that way and she may have done it willingly but she probably said she wasnt ready or felt pressured into doing it. if you really care about this girl dont hurt her.

Q: Hi everybody,

I am writing my resume and I don't have much work experience except as a receptionist and as a cashier. I listed all my responsibilities in those jobs which makes it obvious for possible employers which skills I have so I am not listing those again. However, I have an appointment with AppleOne to help me find a job and they told me to list 5 skills ... I put stuff like:

Hard-worker

Positive
Responsible
Goal-orinted
Works well with others
Types 68 wpm

Of course, thos eare all ture about me... but I can only list 5 because they clutter my resume. And I;m not really satisfied with them. I am not posting stuff like "cashier" or "knows how to use Microsoft Word and Excel" because I already listed those as responsibilities for my previous jobs.

Anyways, do you have ideas of what are some great general skills I can include or the skills employers look for the most or which one of those skills I listed should I include?

Q: umm okay so i looove my boyfriends hair when its medium length...he always cuts it so short though and i hate it short ( i dont tell him i hate it short because i dont wanna hurt his feelings) but i just say i like it better medium length...how can i get him to keep it medium length and not cut it? thanks

it shouldn't matter how your boyfriend wears his hair. it just shouldn't bother you. If he likes it short then that is what should matter. my husband sometimes doesnt shave right away and is all pricker i hate it!!! but i deal with it.

Q: im 5 months, maybe a week more than that. before i was really skinny plus im tall, so my bump isnt that big at all.
the thing is, i cant feel my baby move at ALL. i mean, i thought that i did when i was 4 months just like little flutters. but now when its supposed to be more noticable i cant feel it at all.

you start feeling a baby move at all different times maybe not till six months. I would let your doctor know if you are worried about it. I hardly even notice my baby kick and im 5 months to. only time i feel it is when im sitting or laying down.

You are probably bi courious but I could be wrong. there is nothing wrong with it though when i was your age even younger than you i was bi courios so. you just want to experiment. you dont have to worry about telling anyone if you dont want to. wait a couple years and see how you feel later on.

Q: I go to college about 20 minutes from where I live, so I figured, what's the point in paying the extra whatever thousands of dollars if I could just hop on a bus and ride down there for 2 bucks? It just seemed the easiest and cheapest thing to do.

Well I had no problem meeting people right off the bat, I met alot of peope in all of my classes that I can talk to and it made me really happy cause I was worried it was going to be really difficult. Well now it's been about a month and the whole big group of us that talks is starting to go out to places with eachother and hang out and everything.. and I never get invited. I get the occasional invites sometimes, but it's always when I have to work, so I sadly decline, but it still makes me happy though that they'd ask. But sometimes they haven't been inviting me and then they'll tell me about what they all did and then sometimes they'll be like "you should've come!" and I just want to grab them and shake them and be like "I WOULD'VE IF YOU HAD INVITED ME." Cause ironically, the days I DON'T work and CAN go out are usually the days where they don't invite me anywhere or anything. Like yesterday, I didn't have to work at all, so I could've hung out with everyone and we were sitting there in class and this one girl mentioned going to a resturant and pointed to each person and was like,"___ you wanna go? ___, you wanna go?" and didn't point to me. After class, I left in a hurry and didn't wait for everyone like I normally would because I was a little upset. Nobody texted me or anything asking where I went ( not that I really expected them too, but it was a litte out of character for me not to wait, unless I explain to them that I'm in a hurry to catch my bus or something ).

Like, I know I commmute and don't have the closest friendship they all have because they all live in the same building together or one that's like, 5 minutes away. But one of the other girls commutes to and they always ask her to hang out all the time. I don't think it's me not being social enough cause I think I'm pretty outgoing, I've even tried making plans with everyone this saturday, and juts nobody's even mentioned it and I suggested something for Monday but nobody said anything about that either.

It's just bumming me out cause I feel like I'm just someone there to talk to for whenever they have nobody else in class or anything. Like I had class with one of the girls I talk to and we were able to get out of class early and she was just kind of like,"...you can come back to my apartment and hang.. if you want.." it seemed more of a like "oh i know you don't have anywhere else to go for an hour so i'll let you sit at my place." then a like "wanna hang out at my place! :)" kind of deal.

I think it is that every time they have invited you you have declined maybe they think you didn't want to go. next time you have a day off ask someone so what are you all doing after class.

Q: okay, so today in school there was this thing called a pep rally. it starts at the end of the day and it starts during my lunch. so i need lunch, i starve. so i decide that i will cut my orchestra class. i walk in the cafe with my friend and i see a teacher who i have and we get along really well. i tell him my situation and he says i can stay in the cafe. but later on in the day i see my orchestra teacher and he askes me "why werent you in class?"...i tell him that i was at the nurse. i come back home from school and i see a new message left on my answer machine and he left a message saying that he thinks i cut class. i erased it. but i still feel bad that he found out. good thing today is friday but what will i tell him when i come back to school on monday?. he is probably going to ask me why i cut. and i dont want to bring the teacher that let me cut into this because i dont want him to get into trouble. help please. i never cut before so that is why i am kinda acting like a baby. by the way, i am female and 15 years old

Tell your teacher why you cut about the pep rally and needing to eat lunch. which i do not understand why the pep rally would take place during some students lunch? every student has a right to lunch and this is something to bring up with your principal. you dont even have to bring in the other teacher at all.

Q: My computer won't read ANY CD's - every time I try to say, play a game, it tells me to please insert the CD-rom and then try again. And it happens with everythingg. Am I screwed? :/

I dont know the exact words for the stuff but you probably need a new drive it happened to my old computer when i left it turned on during a really bad storm and fried the board inside. it would probably be cheeper for a new tower.

soo i live in texas and i'm going to be a pediatric nurse practioner when i grow up. (just a pediatric nurse and the practioner part means i can write prescriptions too) well i have 7 classes a day and im making 5 a's and 2 b's
well to make up for my b's i plan on getting A LOT of volunteer work. well what im trying to get to is do i first go to UT college (for how many years?) AND THEN go to like UTMB?? (for how many years?) because my dad said i just go straight to medical school but that doesn't sound right? so yea im getting pretty confused

i don't know to much about it. but did you just recieve the lab top is there a disc that came with it about your media? or you may have to go into your control pannel. you can also take your computer to best buy or stores like that or even where you bought it and ask or call.

Q: During the Holocaust the Nazis took lots and lots of Jews into the death camps. I read about the Jews lining up to be burned to death or gassed to death. From the stories, it sounds like they didn't really fight the lines and just followed what the Nazis instructed. I'm just curious about the reasoning, really. I mean, I figure there were lots more Jews at these camps than there were Nazis. Why didn't the Jews fight back and do the things that we typically think to do in situations involving life/death?

The jews had no idea and a lot of them hide from them Nazies buts there was nothing they could do if they got caught running away they were killed jews didnt have guns or anyother protection. they were weak.

Q: Hi, Advicenators. I'm a freshman now and high school is awesome in many ways but not academics when it comes to me. I'm in all honors classes, and some are easy (such as science and English), but geometry and social studies are making me feel awful.

I didn't finish my first math test in time for the bell, so I got a D, even though I knew all the material. I don't know why it took me so long to get through what I did finish. We have a test coming up this friday and I'm pretty nervous because I feel like the only guy who is doing badly.

Social studies is even worse though because I didn't finish our first essay either, and received a F. Two other students failed too, but I feel like I just can't really work under pressure and I'm not doing too well, overall. I could go to regular instead of honors, but I would have to go to regular science and English, and lose my good teachers in that class as well.

Any advice would be helpful.

I think they wouldn't have put you in honor classes if they didn't feel you can handle it. You are stressing your self out for no reason. Take a breather before each test and work hard at it. Study the material. My little brother and I have no idea why got placed in honor classes last year only because thats the only place they had openings at his new school never brought a book home to study nothing and he loved it. So its okay to study your self.

Q: I have been with my husband for 12 years now. We've had some really great times but I've come to realize that he is more like a brother or a best friend to me. We aren't intimate much and we both seem to be satisfied with that. I don't feel any closeness between us that would indicate to me that our relationship was closer than brother/sister. I'm confused and am not sure what I should do? My feelings are strange and I'm beginning to worry about many things. I don't know much about your situation or what happens at your home but after being married for so long it doesnt die its still there i mean you should be imtimate but like my mother and father in law are close with there arguments not to intimate or anything a few hugs sometimes but they love each other.
