Q: I got a 22 on the ACT. Yes, it was my first time. Yes, I know I can take it again. Yes, I know I can take practice tests. I just want to know what other people got on thier ACT their first try. Because in my mind a 22 out of 36 is 61% and that isn't very good.

umm well i haven't taken it but my friend got a 24 on her first try and another friend got a 28. you can prob convert it to SAT scores to see how that compares, too.

Q: Is there any way i can make my hair lighter without highlighting or coloring?

Q: I like this guy a lot. And only my best friends know I like him. And I think I love him. We talk from time to time. But we arn't friends: he is popular and I have lik 20 close friends, but we're not popular, just really friendly. So we talk about hockey (Because we both play) and that is basically it. I was planning on telling him how i feel about him next time I see him.

But today, I was talking with my really good friend who I just told the other day (making her the 4th person who knows) and she said that he smoked pot. Now, this person isn't one to gossip--- she never does, doesn't say anything unless its true, but today, she said she was almost positive that ricky smoked pot.

My dad is very ANTI drug ANTI sex ANTI anything illegal. But he really likes this kid; they met via my hockey. He says we would make a great couple.

I would date him if he smokes, because I care for this guy so much, I think i might be able to change that *it sounds mean,-- i dont want it to* but my dad wouldn't stand for it.

I really don't know what to do. I'm sure if I tell this guy that I like him, he'll like he too, because everyone knows he has a thing for me. Please help me!

just don't tell your dad he smokes, its not really a big deal. it should be legal anyways.

Q: I want to get my cartilage pierced. How old do you have to be? And does it matter how old you are if you have your parents permission? And does it hurt more then just getting your first hole in your ear pierced? What does the pain feel like?

you have to be 18 w/o your parents permission. some people say it hurts more, some less. it just depends. ive heard its like a pinch but its like tougher so i would think it would be more painful

Q: I know this is probably common or whatnot.. but when i like sit down for more than say.. 10 minutes, when i stand up i get reallly lightheaded and feel like im gonna fall over. is something wrong with me.. or is it just because the blood is rushing through my head??

Q: How bad is weed for you?
I smoke like.. maybe once every 2 months.. sometimes from a pipe.. and sometimes from a can.. how bad is this for you? I dont even think I get high when I do it though.. How do you know when youre high?

weed isn't as bad for you as its made out to be in all the government propoganda commercials you see on tv, if you know the ones im talking about. its not really addicting but as for inhaling any smoke its probobly not the best for your lungs, but its a hell of a lot better than cigarettes. you might not be getting high because you're smoking bad weed or not enough. but overall its not awful for you (its probobly better than alchohol and def. better than cigarettes) so its basically the safest "drug", but its not really good for you either because you can lose brain cells if you do it too often(like every day).
once every 2 mo. isn't going to hurt you, just dont get caught with it because that WILL hurt you.

Q: Recommend me good books to help me build knowledge, please? I am not very smart so no hard novels like Shakespeare. Thank you!

i LOVED crime and punishment, the da vinci code, catch-22. all of those will build your knowledge and make you think. crime and punishment might be a little hard to read but it is an amazing book and one of the best i've read in a long time. if you're into art and stuff you would like the da vinci code, and catch-22 is a hilarious satirical novel about the stupidity of war. C&P and catch-22 both have a lot of knowledge in them and you will def be smarter for reading them.
darkness at noon is really good too, but its out of print so you have to go to amazon to get it.

Q: heyy like im looking for an ew comforter and stuff. and i looked at www.wakeupfrankie.com and www.pbteen.com and i looked at ikea.com i found some that i liked but ikea is a little cheapp and the others are a little expensive. so iwas just wonderin if any of you know any more good sites or stores??

Q: I am taking an in-depth American History class and our textbook isn't exactly helpful to me because it's so complex and I usually like to use other textbooks when reading along in case I don't understand something in one book, I can look for clarification in the other. Are there any good books (not textbooks-too expensive) on American History I can buy and peruse? Do you think the SAT II US History would help?

AMSCO US history-preparing for the ap exam. i was in ap us history last year and that book is AMAZING. it condenses everything but in a way that doesn't leave out any important information. i swear it is the best thing that ever happened to me in that class. you can prob get it at like borders and if not amazon. my text book i never even opened all year because of this

Q: almost a year ago i got a 3year old cot i was so happy but i was not there when my dad brought her home i came home week later to find my cat hateiing me loveing my dad i dont no wat to do because i really want her to like me any suggestions?

give her milk, pet her all the time, rub her stomach cats love that! give her catnip...i swear its like cat weed they are obsessed with it my cat goes CRAZY when catnip is around he acts really weird lol

Well yea and I want to know if there is anyway to make them fatter without making my tummy fatter. I lub the rest of my body except my legs. And I really dont want muscular legs, i want to have a little fat around them before any muscle. =/

just run a few times a week or go to the gym and lift weights w/your legs like on a machine. they'll get more muscular and look more toned

Q: Dan is 18, he never talked to me during school and then all of the sudden he started calling me a lot. As in every day. I tried to avoid talking to him on the phone because I don't really enjoy talking to him. I tolorated it, but now he wants to go to the movies with me. I told him I'd talk to him later about it, because I didn't want to crush him because I know how guys are when they get rejected. So yeah, I think he is calling today and I don't know what to tell him. I don't like talking to him on the phone and I deffinatly do not want to go to the movies with him. Any suggestions on what to do/say when he calls? (I'm not the kind of person that would say something like "STOP CALLING ME! IT'S WERID!" or "eww no i'd never go to the movies with you"). yeah i had the same problem a little while ago. just tell him you already like someone and you would rather just stay friends. he'll get the hint but at least its in a nicer way...

Q: My face gets so oily so quickly. I wash and wash and wash my face constantly, and it never ever stays oil free. My face never drys out because it's always so oily! Is there a certain scrub/wash that I can use that really helps and makes my face stay dry and clear all day?! Thank-you.

i have the same problem! ive used a lot of stuff but i've found that washing your face with clean and clear wash in the turquoise and purple container helps. and also before you go to bed put clean and clear persa-gel 10 on your face (its an acne cream, but it dries out your face if you use it for a few days).
also get those clean and clear oil absorbing wipes for touchups during the day.
dont wash your face constantly it makes it produce more oil. just twice a day is fine.
so yeah haha basically i love clean and clear and it works really well for oily skin because i def. have it
but hey! oily skin means less wrinkles when you grow up so its not so bad

Q: I just found out that there is going to be a ten year highschool reunion for my grad class this august. I said I was going to go and already sent the check in the mail. Well I looked at the website for who is already signed up to go and this guy that was really popular who I was madly in love with is going to be there. He knew I liked him and treated me like dirt. I still get nightmares sometimes. I've changed alot since school. My question is how can I be less nervous when I go and have to see him? Also how should I act around him?

have you ever seen romy and michelle's high school reunion? act just like that.

actually just make sure you look good. it will make you less nervous because you'll be more confident. just act nice and maybe he got fat or something so you won't be nervous around him.

Q: I'm going to a nail salon for the first time. I want to have tips put on, like the complete full acrylic nail, so my nails look longer, and have the french manicure look. I was wondering approximately how much will this cost? Do I have to include a tip also? Do I have to scheduale an appoitment?

about 25 dollars, maybe 30 depending on where you go. yeah you usually tip them a few dollars. well i usually just walk in but it depends on if you think they'll be crowded or not

Q: 15/f/120 pounds. Today I swam at a leisurely pace for about 500 feet. I used varying strokes, if it makes any difference. About how many calories did I burn?

uh well 500 feet isn't very far so probobly not very many especially if you were going at a leisurely pace. thats like less than 7 laps in a 25 yard pool. to burn sufficient calories you should swim at least a mile which is 66 laps.

Why is that it's wrong for a man to hit a woman, but if the chick hits the guy, it's considered cute?
Why can girls get away with calling guys every sexist name under the sun but if a man dare say the word chick (ZOMG!!!1!! NOT CHICK!!!! *gasp*) he is called a sexist, and that is not ok?

1. because all throughout history women have been treated like inferiors. if you knew your history you would know this and see how wrong it is. i don't think its "omg so cool and trendy" to be feminist its just about getting equal rights which unfortunately a lot of men don't want to give up their priveledges.
2. it is considered wrong for a man to hit a women because it is considered abuse because usually the man is stronger and it hurts more than if a girl hit a guy. i mean really, how many cases do you hear about a wife beating and abusing a husband? sure it happens i guess, but not near as often as the other way around. and usually when women hit guys it doesn't hurt them at all.
3. i don't really care if a guy says chick. again its just because i think women as a whole are getting sick of being treated like inferiors and are trying to be taken seriously.

feminism is just trying to get the two sexes EQUAL, which it should be anyways.
and i love how you portrayed girls as always talking in annoying chatspeak. not all girls talk like that.

Q: I strongly want to avoid college. So, I researched different degree programs and found that an associates degree is PERFECT for me, so don't try to convince me otherwise, please. Here are my questions:

1) In what area should I specialize in order to get the degree most quickly? I don't like history or social sciences at all (psycology/humanities=NO)
2) Are associates degrees easy and quick to obtain, or is that just what everyone thinks?
3) What good paying jobs are available for people with associate degrees? I already know that you can be a flight attendant, dental assistant, and therapist assistants, but what else is out there?

1. it just depends on what kind of job you want...the alternative to humanities is like sciences and they probobly wouldn't be the easiest to obtain.

3. there aren't really any...the country has become too competetive and any employer will hire a college educated person over an AA degree any day

since this is an advice site, i'm going to advise you to go to college, even if its a small school. it may seem like a pain now, but you will make so much more money and have so many more opportunities open to you. an AA degree(esp. one that is easy to obtain) kind of shows employers that you're not willing to put forth the work. so unless you want to be just an assistant all your life i would go to college.
