Long story short, I'm from Los Angeles, went to an amazing school, left the US and moved to the Middle East. I've been backpacking around Europe and the Middle East on and off since August 2013. Would you like to converse? Here's my Forum

okay, well i have 4 questions in this one, so if you answer it please try to answer all three.
my best friend gets mad at me like every other day for the exact same reason, because i decided to sit with different people at lunch and talk to different people in the hallways. its been like this since like third grade. she has ALWAYS been extremely moody, its just getting worse and worse though. plus, shes always accusing me of things. i was about to totally tell her off on friday, but i knew i would feel horrible after i did. because once i do something mean, i regret it right after .but i truly don't know what to do anymore. ignoring doesn't work. i ignored her for a year and half and it didn't help. well of course, but we were young then . i don't know what to do. advice?
there is this one girl in my athletics class who is kinda poor. (i don't mean to sound snobby or anything, but i live in a small town and my family is about the richest ones there) before i knew that and acctually got to hand out with her, we were like best buds. but ever since i went over to her house, she annoys me sooo badly, and whenever i think about her, im just disguisted. shes really nice and stuff but i just can't help it. and i like poorist or something? and when we are at school she annoys me less, but still does. so i dont know, but when we hang out its like a nightmare.
this past weekend, i went to my 2 friends cheer competition. this other girl that they were gonna take got grounded. i didn't even know they were gonna invite her. then her mom was like why don't you come next weekend with us too (they have another comp. then too) and they were like no, we were gonna invite anna(friend) instead, but she got grounded thats why we invited courtney(me). and shes supposed to be ungrounded by then so we were gonna take her. but if she can't come then you can come instead. it seemed like i was just their last resort or something, it made me feel really bad, idk what my question is here though.
i have a problem with jealousy. its completely ridiculous, like stuff i shouldn't even get jealous about. like if someone else knows the words to my favorite song, then i feel jealousy build up inside me. or the example about the cheer thing. i went this time so it was only fair that someone else go, but i still felt completely jealous. does anyone know how to fix this?

You're being a control freak.
YOU have the power to choose who your friends are.
Do what you want; it's your life. If your "friends" are getting jealous over stuff like THAT, wait until you all actually grow up.
I think you need to redefine the word "friend" anad find some people who have those traits.
These people aren't really worth keeping if they're treating you like this.
On a side note, please only ask one thing per question. It makes it easier for people to give you specific responses.
When do I apply? Junior or senior year? Beause if I apply this year (junior), then how will colleges know the results of my senior year(such as graduating with honors or my grades..)??

You apply in the FALL or WINTER of your SENIOR year.
After you are accepted (spring of your senior year), they keep tabs on your grades, and at the end of the year, ask for your transcripts and a copy of your diploma.
Some colleges only need the transcripts.
Senior year grades aren't usually used to calculate your cumulative GPA, though, and neither are senior accomplishments.
American Eagle has the "All-Access Pass", where how much you spend gets you points for a discount every quater. Do Hollister or Delia's have anything like that? I know Hollister used to have "Club Cali", but I'm not sure that still exsists?

Hi I was wondering, if your appendix bursts, and you go to the hospital, i know they have to do surgury, but do they usually keep you there for a couple of days to make sure your ok?
If it actually bursts, you're in there for a long time.
A friend of mine was in the hospital for 26 days.
If it's ABOUT to burst, then yes, they will keep you for a few days.

Use a pair of scissors and cut about 2 niches below the neckline. If the neckline curves, curve your cut. Cut more as needed.
alright so the collage i wanted to go to recommended what classes i should take during my jr year of high school... next year and they said anatomy or neurology.. and my school is stupid and does offer those classes.. they offer..forensic science..biology..AP biology..chemistry..geology..environmental science.. agriculture science..biotechnology..and physics.. im trying to become a massage therapist witch science course do you think i should take witch is at least a tiny bit similar to what my collage that i hope to go to recommended?

I don't brush my hair when it's curly. It gets crazy frizzy.
Brush it before you shower, if you must.
But that is how I get my lovely ringlets.
Then, when I straighten my hair, I brush it out then.
At school we do this thing were a bunch of high school girls go and spend the evening with 8th grade girls and help them get ready to transition into high school. Every year we break into "teams" of about 30 girls and have cute little names and themes and what not
This year our overall theme is like a california beach glamour kind of idea (like when you think of a girl with her big sunglasses and long flowy hair driving a comfortable with palm trees around)
The name we have come up with so far is Sassy Sunrays but I was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions
(it can be related to anything beach or ocean or glam or anything really... just preferable not super girly like princesses and babes and stuff.... and it must be middle school appropriate, but at the same time something that they would think is more highschoolish and cool!)

hey i just turned 16 and I have never kissed a guy or hooked up, had a boyfriend or anything. I hang out with a few guys, but there is one guy that i want to hang out with but he is always busy and i really dont think he likes me. I feel like i am the only one who has never even been asked out before at this age. I'm a really outgoing person and i guess im pretty attractive too. Any advice as to why I have gotten no where?

So this is my first year of college. Just my luck, I get a roommate that has no life except her boyfriend. He stays in our room for weeks at a time and has no life himself. Mind you, it is against the rule to have boys stay the night in our dorms. I have talked to my roommate about him TWICE. I told her I didn't like that he was here so much and I thought it was fair that he only visited once a month and didn't stay on school nights.
Well we just got back from Christmas break and NOTHING has changed. It pisses me off to no end. I would love to just go tell on her, but #1 I have my boyfriend visit once a semester and I don't want to get in trouble and #2 I don't want to start shit with this girl since I'm going to be forced to live with her until May.
The other night, my roommate and her boyfriend were in the room doing god-knows-what on the top bunk and I was on my bottom bunk talking to my boyfriend on the phone. He could tell I was upset, but I couldn't straight out talk about my roommate without saying their names. So he told me to say #1 to refer to my roommate and #2 to refer to her boyfriend. So we did that. I didn't say anything obvious so that she would know we were talking about her.
Anyway, ever since then she's been really mad at me. I think somehow she knew what I was talking about. She won't even talk to me. I think she's being really immature because she invited her boyfriend up AGAIN. I'm going through a lot right now because my grandpa just had a major surgery and this is NOT something I want to deal with.
Here are my options:
1) Completely confront her and TRY to be calm. Ask her why she's upset and apologize if I have to for not going straight to her with my issues.
2) Move out and get a different roommate (which I'm trying to avoid just to spite her because I know that's what she wants)
3) Just go to my residence life director and tell her everything my roommate did and let her handle the situation.
What do I do? I'm so upset right now.

On Monday my teacher warned my Eight Grade class that we are going to have a classroom spelling. Whoever passes it will go to the School Spelling Bee, which i am very excitd about, because i am a GREAT speller. Although I don't know what the words are going to be, I am very anxious, curious, and scared that I don't know how to spell a word because I never heard or seen it before.
Any tips on how I canbe good at Spelling Bees?
And also do you guys know where I can find the words that are frequently used in Spelling Bees? Either class spelling bees or school, or BOTH :)
I could really use your heklp for my advantage/benefits. I would gladly appreciate if you take your time to give me some advice and help me out so I will feel good & confident when it is my turn to spell, rather than freaking out.

I was a champ back in my day.
I was really close to going to nationals in 2005.
Anyway.
The official book is called 2008 Spell It!
However, most schools do NOT use the official book nor do they play by official rules. You jsut have to be good at spelling to win those. I think my words were rather easy.
A lot of spellers write it out either mentally or with their finger on their hand. I never found this to be particularly helpful, but a lot of other people did. I can't do math like that, either.
Furthermore, be sure to use things to your advantage. You can ask your adjudicators to repeat words and (I'm using regional and national rules here) you can also ask for the etymology, definition, and part of speech. Be sure to ask for these! You can ask for them for every word, and I recommend doing so. Besides giving you more time, it helps you to know that you're spelling the right word. For example, if I said "effect", you might spell a-f-f-e-c-t, and in that case you'd be wrong. Also, it clarifies. For example, a fellow competitor was eliminated for spelling mohair incorrectly because the adjudicator said "molehair".
