Hi I was wondering, if your appendix bursts, and you go to the hospital, i know they have to do surgury, but do they usually keep you there for a couple of days to make sure your ok?

If it actually bursts, you're in there for a long time.

A friend of mine was in the hospital for 26 days.

If it's ABOUT to burst, then yes, they will keep you for a few days.

they will atleast keep you over night and make sure no infection occurs. then make sure ally our vitals are steady and that you can void(pee) and have a bm (just go poo before you can go home. no real time set for holding after any surgery. i hope that helps

Ouch, my friend had hers burst-she said it hurt like crazy.
They keep you in the hospital a few days after surgery, and if all your systems are working(breathing right, blood pressure, etc) , they will release you in 3 days to a week.

They keep you in for a couple of days. Until they can tell that you're feeling better. But when they send you home, you're still in some pain. It's usually takes from 3-7 days. Hoped I Helped.
