My name is Teza.. short for Tereza. I was born in Croatia and I speak more than one language. I'm 22 years old & I completed 2 college degrees in 3 years. My a bachelors is in Business Administration concentration in Human Resources and my Masters degree is also in HR.



I started this advice column about 9years ago and I was so young but it was something that I always loved to do. I am trying to get back to answering questions, at least a few per day. With that said, if you have questions about school, friends, make up, etc., feel free to ask.

ok well ive decided to go tanning for the very first time you see im not the type of girl that would normally do this but its something i want to do but the only problem is i have no idea how to like i know you have to wear something like a bathing suit but how do you adjust the temperature? and how do you know when its done? the lady told me there was two options but i forget the names of both how do i get a nice tan with out turning orange and without coming out the same i was before?? help!!!

When you go tanning, make sure you tell the people who work there and they will explain to you everything that you need to know. Don't feel dumb or embarrased to ask. There are two tanning options. One is a mystic tan, and the other is a tanning bed. Personally, tanning beds are most likely going to give you the tan that you want, not turn your orange. You can't really adjust the tempature, but you can pick which bed to go in. There is regular, ultra [ higher ] & mega which is a bronzing bed. Since it's your first time, go for about 10 minutes. You might get a little hot in there but there are fans so make sure you turn those on & also buy lotion at the place. Be sure not to use an outside tanning lotion. The next time you go tanning, go for about 15 minutes & the next, 20 & continue going 20 because you'll already be used to it. When you tan, the bed will show how many minutes you'll be tanning and whenever you're done, the lights will turn off and you'll know.

This may sound stupid, but what kind of programs can like edit songs together? Like take out certain parts and then the song is just a huge mix. Can you do this on itunes? Or what.

well i really like this guy , but he moved to california. now after a year he moved back here ( lol (but he's still going to a different school) .
before he moved i think he liked me back! i mean he always smiled blahblahblah , i don't wanna spell everything out , just trust me on this.
ok so i asked his friend for his msn adresse cuz i couldn't really ask him since he's going to a different school. and i'm pretty good friends with his friend xD so when i was chatting with him everything went fine , but he didn't really knew who i was at first...it took him so long to figure it out , and then he was like "i don't really remember what you look like". that really pissed me of but i actet like i don't care.my friends said he did that on purpose just to test me (cause we had a little argument before he left , but it wasn't thaaat bad) so after that we had a nice chat , but it was me who always asked him the questions. if i wouldn't of come up with something the convo would just stopped! BUT he always responded after just 5 secons or something and his anwers werent exactly short xD. so i'm pretty confused right now...does he still like me or not?
and what can i do to make him like me again?

I'm pretty sure he knew who you were. Some guys always do that.. for what reason, I don't know. It's too sudden to tell in he likes you again. I mean you just started talking to him again and he hasn't really hung out with you much so you never know. Next time you guys talk, ask to hang out. Maybe when you guys see each other, your old feelings might come back and you never know what could happen.

Okay im 14/f and my ex broke up with me like a year ago. but he was my very 1st kiss. and i still like him. even tho i have a new boyfriend. last weekend was my exboyfriends birthday. while i was using the restroom my best friend kissed him. and when i came back down they were all over each other. and im kinda mad at her. but the thing is...they arent dating..and i dont know why but my feelings for him got stronger because of that. so i guess my question is should i be mad at my best friend? and is it normal for the feelings to get stronger?

You moved on so no you shouldnt' be mad at your best friend. I understand that he was your first kiss and such, but you just got jelous and that's normal. It's also normal that you're feelings for him are starting to come back. When you really care about someone, it's hard to forget the person but when you see him again your feelings for him could still be there.

okay well my friend is having a party on saturday. it` going to be really big andd really fun. she invited guys and the one i like is invited too. what do you suggest i do to get his attention at the party. i mean like should i wear something reallyy hott, or should i hang out with a bunch of other guys? how do i make him noticee mee?

Hanging out with other guys can give him the impression that you're not interested in him. Make sure you pay attention to him. Your outfit won't really matter, but dress cute. Some guys like revealing but make sure you still look classy. Go up to him and start a conversation and give him and flirt. Leave him wanting more from you and enjoy the party.

Okay today during my martial arts class my boyfriend (18/m) got kicked below the belt where it hurts... and since then he's been in quite abit of pain, less then an hour after he urinated some blood... 4 hours after the incident he has aching in his testicles and is still leaking some blood. Should he go to the doctors in the morning? I'm really worried about him but I don't know how serious it is as I haven't seen him since it happened... I won't be able to talk to him until the morning now but what should I do?

He needs to go to the doctor and get checked up. If it still aches a lot and possiblly still bleading, he needs to go soon. It could be something more serious.

Is this being a good friend?

- When your friend is sick at home, and you're at school, you call between every class to check on them, & when you get home.
- Make them an easter basket & drop it at their door.
- Wish them good luck on tests.
- Bring them donut holes when they're stranded at home, because they're ankles swollen.

These are just the bare minimum of things I do for my best guy friend, I'm a (16/f) and it just doesn't seem like he notices. Am I being a good friend, or should I try harder?

You're defenetly being a great friend. I'm sure he's very thankful for the things that you do but maybe he just doesn't show it the way you'd like him too. Don't try any harder to be a good friend because you're already a great one & I'm sure he appriciates everything that you do for him.

They know that you have a boyfriend so if they try to make a move on your or anything, just tell them that you're not interested. If they flirt with you, so what but I think you'll know how to handle the situation.

On the home page, it shows who the featured columnist is. I think you should e-mail DN with that idea about sending an e-mail. I think it'd be a good idea for people to know if they're featured.

hey im a guy 13, and i was wondering whats the most important thing to girls to make a guy hot. is it clothes, looks, popularity, sports, scent etc......

When I first meet a guy I look for weird things,.. what they're wearing, shoes & smile. What makes a guy hot is confidence, not cockynes. If you have a good personality, funny & sweet, it makes guys more appealing and attractive. Guys DEFENETLY should smell good all the time :] Popularity doesn't really matter but some girls actually look for that but it's always a plus if a guy plays sports.

hey i was wondering if clothes actually matters to girls and what colours and types to wear....do brands like abercrombie and holister make girls like guys more?

To some girls, clothes do matter. Some girls like different guys with different styles. I personally like when a guy has good hygene and dresses nicely. Hollister or Abercrombie are just brands but I like when guys wear it and I'm sure a lot of girls do too. Clothes don't make the whole impression.

ok. 14/f. my life with friends right now sucks so much. i can't take it anymore. i have 2 different stories about 2 diffrent friends. ok, so my first friend.. we'll call her.. Lacy.lol. well, we have this huge science project to do. and our teacher allowed us to have partners. and me and Lacy have been friends for about 2 years now, so we're pretty good friends. we're in our science class together, so we decided to be partners together. well, a diffrent girl in our class asked the teacher if we could have partners from diffrent classes. and he said that would be ok. so we started doing more reaserch and stuff. well, in a different class that we have together today, she goes "ok, i have to tell you something but please don't get mad" and i said "ok, i won't" and Lacy goes "well, i think i'm going to be with "Tiffany" (changed name) because she didn't have anyone to be with." and i go "ok" and acted like i wasn't mad, but i really was furious. so now i have to do it by myself, cause my other friends already have partners. but i don't want her to find out i'm mad, cause i don't want to start anything, so what should i do? i don't want to say anything cause that would prolly make her mad. ok, second story. there is this girl.. It's messed up how your friend would just leave you for another person. Yeah it's just a project, but I would be really mad & I would let her know about it. She deserves to know that what she did was really stupid & now she left you alone. If you don't tell her how you felt about it, she will keep doing these things to you. She has no reason to get mad at you. You didn't do anything wrong and it's her fault so if she does get mad, don't worry about it. Now about Lisa,.. she seems like a really big drama queen that loves attention. I hate when people get mad about the stupidest things. THAT is the most annoying thing. Since she's so desparate for friends, maybe you guys should let her know how her behavior is and the way that she treats you. She doesn't seem like a really good friend so if she's going to ignore you, YOU ignore her. You don't need to waste your time trying to make her happy or for her to talk to you. You don't need her. It's normal to feel like you can't trust your friends but truth is, you can't always. The only people that you should trust is your closest family. Friends act weird around friends and that's understandable and it will always be like that. But next time that something bothers you, you need to talk to that person. Don't worry about them being mad at you for telling the truth. I ALWAYS say what's on my mind and I know that sometimes it isn't what they want to hear, but I speak up about it and it makes our friendships better and closer.

ok last summer my best friend was going out with this guy and every time we would hang out it would be me my best friend her boyfriend and his best friend , and then i started liking his best friend but i only told my friend i didnt really make a big thing of it bc he was a BIGG flirt , and then one night after we went to the movies my friends boyfriend told me that his friend liked me and me and him were pretty close and i REALLLYY trusted him , i would have trusted him with my life , and i talked to the guy i liked a few times and then like a week later he was at a different friends house and i was talking to him and then every once in a while like he'd say some like heyy babbbyy and stuff like that and thats not the kindof guy he was so i new it was his friend so i basically ignored it and then a few hours later , he went home and he imed my friend and told her to tell me that he doesnt like me and he never did. and now everytime we see each other its REALLY akward and we dont really talk but i still have feelings for him annd i dont really no how to start talking to him or if i should just move on because i think he has and if he wants to talk to me still i dont no im just confused with everything and need some advice.

If he won't talk to you or pay attention to you, it's pointless to like him or spend your time on him. It's really messed up how he said he never liked you but all those times he acted like he did. Move on. You could be with someone that really cares about you and wouldn't be like the other guy. If you see him still just say hey and be outgoing and fun. Don't make the situation akward just because you two didn't work out. Try to be friends but for now that might be hard because you still have feelings for him. You'll get over him eventually. Don't worry about it.

Okay so i have been friends with this girl for like ever, and we are really good friends.
But the problem is, whenever im talking to someone she ALWAYS interupts us and its so annoying then she gets super pissed at me, that i don't talk to her.. When you talked to her, I don't think that she thought that you were serious. I could not put up with a person like that. She has no right to get angry with you if you can't hang out with her. It's also VERY rude that she always interupts you when you're talking. Try talking to her again and maybe some of your other friends could be upfront with her about it. If she still won't stop, don't talk to her anymore. I know that friends aren't supposed to do that, but sometimes you just have to. Let her come around and then see how she acts.

alright, this might be kind of a stupid question, but i just need advice.

i`m not comfortable wearing tampons, i don`t know why. i`ve tried, and i just don`t like it. eventually, it`ll be practical, sure, but for right now, i`m sticking with pads. i got my period in 6th grade, when i was 12, in december. i`m not in 7th grade and 13.

last summer, i didn`t go to the pool or anything when i was swimming, but i had my period when my whole family went to a waterpark, so i wore a tampon that day, but i didn`t like it, and it didn`t even do anything because my period stopped that day. so i don`t even know how well a tampon works for me, or if it would work well enough while swimming.

anyways, i hate having people ask me to go to the pool when i have my period and won`t go. so, if i wore a tampon, would i be able to go? or would it still be a good idea to just stay out of the water for that day? what if i`m going to a waterpark or something when i have it, should i wear a tampon then?

these might seem like stupid questions, but i wasn`t really sure. thanks in advance :D

Your questions aren't stupid, don't worry. You COULD swim in a pad, but there are so many bad reasons why you shouldn't. Pads can disolve in water & you can leak very easily. It would be a mess and I don't suggest that you do. Same goes for the waterpark. It's fine that you don't like tampons but a lot of girls are scared from them. To be, they're way more comftrable than pads but that's just my opinion. I suggest you wear tampons when you're doing any water activity.
