If you've read "The Great Gatsby" please help me out here!!
We've been having to do this "Great Gatsby" essay in class. Well one of the prompts, I didn't exactly understand, so I thought I would do it at home, that way I could concentrate, go online, do research and stuff. But I've been doing it for the past hour and I can't find or think of anything. I have no idea what the answer is! I don't want you to write the paragraph for me or anything, I just want some guidelines and explanation. If you can help, that would be awesome.
Here's the prompt: A tragic hero is one who is destined to die due to some flaw in their behavior and/or personality. How is Gatsby a tragic hero, who is most responsible for his death and how does his death tie in with the thesis?
I know George Wilson shot Gatsby, but is he totally responsible for it? And what was Gatsby's flaw that makes him a tragic hero? I can't think of anything!! (link)

i havent read the whole book yet. im only in ch. 7. but gatsby might be a tragic hero because of his love for daisy. he didnt think straight because of her. i dont know why george shot him, but maybe if you think of the reason why, that will help you find out who/what is the cause of his death. it'd be better if i could talk to you one on one, so if you get this any time soon, im me at blinkbabe2469 and maybe i could help you more. good luck.

this guy has liked me for practically two years now, but hes so shy and he never did anything except tell me he liked me. well now we've got this big dance coming up and i think hes gonna ask me. the only thing is that he is kinda weird and listens to all those really sick songs by sublime..no offense to the fans out there..but he is still really cute and mysterious..and really nice..do you think i should give him a chance? i rate... sure why not? you say hes nice and cute. just give him a change, its only 1 dance and if you dont have a good time, you're friends will be there too. so its not like you're alone with him eather. its a group thing.from my experience (and me being one) the quietest/shy people are the ones with the most to say. maybe he'll open up to you so he wont be so mysterious anymore. but its your choice. hope i helped.

try readin a book a long book. or listen to music or go for a walk. my favorite thing is to read books. i dont know what kind you're into so i cant really recomend any. hope i helped.

Ok I am not happy with my life right now....and I have no idea why...I have friends and a bf who cares soo much about me...I'm a good student and I'm Secretary of my class at school...I have a lot going for me but I feel so empty inside...Please dont think that this is just for attention because thats why I cant tell my friends how I feel...I just feel like I need help...most of those things I said above were true but I messed up most of my friendships and lied to my bf about things. i might be able to help you if you want. i'd need to know more information though. if you'd like you can im me at blinkbabe2469. you might have depression which is what i have. you feel empty and alone and you dont know why. its cauesd by many things. stress contributes to it alot. it could also be genetic. please dont be affended because i said you might be depressed. it just sounds like how i am and i know im depressed. but i would be more than happy to help you in any way i can.

ok me and my whole grade are going to washington for 2 nights in may.. were going to be staying in nice hotels and everything.. i was wondering if people had some fun ideas to do in our rooms.. or pranks to play on people when they are sleeping.. i heard about flushing your foot down the toilet.. and we thought of a toga party :-P.. does anyone have any other fun ideas? idk when you're going or if you've already gone, but when i went on a trip with my friends, we had an ice fight, made animal noises near the door of the joining rooms and called some of our friends on the phone at odd hours in the morning. it was the most fun i'd had in a while. have fun!

there's a kid who wants to fight my friend and his little brother (known them for about 10years now)my friend knows i have his back but told me not to jump in if a fight breaks out. the other kid is very street and it could get ugly quick. i kno i can make a pancake out of this b*tch. im 15 years old 6'1 175(muscle i mite add) i dont want my friends geting hurt, so should i fight this kid myself or let my neighbor do it.

do what you think is best. if your friend starts to fight and it gets bad then i suggest jumping in because you dont want to see your friend getting hurt. its really your choice, but im just telling you my opinion. hope everything works out.

try drinking more water. that helped me before. excersise and eat healthy foods. doesnt sound fun i know but its something that is most likely to work. hope i helped. good luck.

okay so one of my friends im not too close with her but shes always had a crush on my BF. well i honestly dont kno if she still does but i kno she would talk about him alot last year and she always liked him. and this year she has been flirting alot with him ever since we've been goin out. and she acts all giggley and blushy and all that around him. or when we talk about him. how can i get her to stay away from him with out being mean? because i dont want to lose her as a friend (link)

tell her that. say you dont want to loes her as a friend and ask her how she feels about him. and tell her that it seems as if shes flirting and you dont really feel comfortable (sp?) about it. good luck.

i dont really listen to that kind of music, but you could listen to 92.4 or 102.3 and they play songs like that all the time. good luck.

my friend called and asked me for a blank Cd and I told her I can't get her one b/c they are my brothers.She kept saying 'oh just ask him' so I said 'i can't, because i had my other friend over and we were watching a movie`I am constantly giving her stuff.i'm not even kidding. I give her clothes,i bought her lunch today(didnt even ask her to pay me back!)when i told her i couldnt she's like 'ok, whatever bye'i thought that was really rude.when people say the word 'whatever' to me i find it offensive and she hung up on me.what should i do? i did nothing wrong and just stuck up for myself... you're right, you did nothing wrong. friends like that tend to use people for things, im sorry to tell you this. and when you dont do what they want, they get mad at you. trust me, they're not friends worth having. it only hurts you more. stick up for yourself more and see what happens. maybe she'll realise that she was taking advantages of you. hope i helped.

Oh so my friend cuts..but she hasnt in like 2 weeks. i knew about it since she started (shes been doing it for like 1 and a half months). so today this morning she told our other 2 friends, she didnt tell them before cuz she didnt want them to get mad. my friend (the cutter)told my other 2 friends NOT to tell anyone like a teacher or any body. but 1 did it anyway. and now my friend (the cutter) is all mad at the 1 girl who told. i dont know what to do. so what should i do. ive been supporting my friend (the cutter one) through all this. but what else should or can i do? your firend only told because she doesnt want to see anything happen to your other friend. trust me, its better she gets help now before it gets worse. cutting is addicting and you need help in order to stop. plus, every cutter does it for attention. i refused to admit it until a little while ago and i have done it in ages. if she didnt want anyone to know then she wouldnt have told someone. trust me, its better that your friend told. hope i helped.

ok i know this sounds like pretty pathedic or something..but when i heard about anirexia, i thought to my self that..."that will never happen to me! i love my self to much for that!" but now im totally obessed with my weight...yes i do admit it... its like im always watching what i eat..how many grams of fat are in it..and now im looking at websites about anirexia..i tried puking..but it was to hard to do..is this a normal thing for my body to always feel fat?? i would really appreciate any advice..or help you can tell me...thanks (link)

i'll tell you the same thing my friend told me when i was...concerned about my weight. "its like an unwritten law or something for girls to feel fat" which is true. ever girl feels this way. also remember"you never know just how you look through other peoples eyes" think about what your friends are going to do? hope i helped. if you need anything, leave one in my inbox.

Does anyone have any tips for swallowing pills? I have some pills from my doctor for a bronchidal infection, and they were huge, I had to cut them up into fourths, yet they still are tough to get down. Tips or tricks? (link)

take them with a flavored drink. and a big gulp of it. thats what helps me. good luck!

I sprang my ankle today...the pain is worse now then it was when it first happened....what are some things i can do to make the pain go down..i took some painkillers and put ice on it...and i have one of those wrap things to wear to school tomorrow but what can i do to make the pain go down...because even with the pain killers it still hurts very bad...

it depends on what kind of pain killers you took. some work better than others. i'd say take something with ib profin(sp?) that helps me. hope you feel better soon.

This guy in my class hates me. I like him a lot, and he used to like me. I don't know why he doesn't like me anymore. I can't eat, i can't sleep, and i can't think about anything but him.... he's everything to me and i know that guys will run if u say that to them so no one knows but me how i feel. I told him i really liked him but he just told me to fuck off. He's constantly making fun of me and i don't know what to do. Everytime he makes fun of me it hurts me really bad and there's nothing i can do about it it seems.... last week i was in the bathroom crying because of what he said. dont worry, this happened to me before. i know you like him a lot, and it is hard to deal with. me, i moved on. but i dont want to tell you that he likes you because that might not be the case, which my frends did to me. but it also might be the case. just try not to seem like he bothers you, or make a comment back to him. if you do want to do that and you need help with saying something back, just leave one in my inbox. im sorry this happened to you. he might admit that he likes you, but dont let him run your life. surround yourself with friends and try not to think about him. trust me i know its hard. but everything happens for a reason. hope i helped.

OK, ladies. i just turned 14 and i've been having my period since i was about 13 and a half. im kinda wondering about my breast size. I'm an A cup right now, like i've always been. i havn't felt any breast pain in a few months except ocasionally on my period. I'm really worried that IM NEVER GONNA GET ANY BIGGER!! i asked my mom and she said of course they will grow(shes a large c and was a smaller c before child birth naturally)but im afraid she is just saying that to make me feel better. anyway my question is, are my boobs still growing? yes, they are still growing. they wont stop growing until you're done with puberty. which will be about 18. but every girl is different. trust me, once you get your wish, you'll regret it lol. thats how i was. and i know my friends who have big boobs will traid any day with someone who has smaller ones. dont worry hun, just be patient. hope i helped.

hey i have 2 questions for you the first one is well ive been going out with this boy for about a year and 2 months and i really love him and everything but everyone always tells me i deserve so much better than him and im too good for him but thats not what i think hes kinda my everything you would say and well i dont know what to do should i listen to people or not? and second is one of my bestfriends used to live with her mom and then moved to my city and just yesterday moved back with her mom because of family problems over here and every one is really broken up about it and i was thinking of throwing a party for her to go to so we could all hang out one last time what do you think i should do for the party like what kind of theme thanx i rate high! well, i dont know what to tell you about the party, sorry. but i can help you out with the boyfriend vs. friends. same things happening to me. if you really love him and want to be with him, then be with him. dont let anyone tell you what to do. trust me, i know exactly what you're going through. and i really love my boyfriends and if my friends wont accept that and be happy for me, then i guess they're not really good friends. or they a bit over protective. if you love him like you say you do, stay with him. you have no reason not to be with him other than people tell you you shouldnt. hope i helped any. good luck.

dont let your friends tell you who to be with. if your happy with your boyfriend than dont listen to your friends. if i listened to my friends i wouldnt have been in a relationship thats 1 1/2 years and still going. and im happier than i ever was. dont let anyone tell you who to date. do what you feel is right. hope i helped any.

well i met my boyfriends online, though he was a friend of my friend. but i feel in love with him before i saw his pic. im still in love with him. you cant help who you like. if you want to know if he likes you, either ask him yourself(if he flirts with you like you say then its most likely that he does like you) or ask one of his friends. the distance thing might bother you though. but you should deffinitly try. hope i helped.

talk to her about how you feel.tell her that you hate seeing her upset. try to hang out with her more. people tend to be less depressed when their around friends and just hanging out. im the same way, in school i fake a smile all day. but if im just hanging out, then im happy. maybe she should go on some sort of medicine to help her. they really do help. but if she does, really watch her. some of the pills do the opposite effect on people. so it might make her worse.hope i helped any.
