i wish i had 1 best friend that i could share all my secrets with, and that would be like better than all my other friends and stuff. but most of my friends are just good friends and stuff.. but what do you consider to be best friend material? idk if we're more than good friends yet.. even the ones i've known forever. or maybe they are, but like i still dont think i've found someone that like completely blew me away and that i'd totally know is my best best friend. :/ how do i get one? How do i find one? im always hoping for a new kid in the neighborhood or in my class at school and that we'd click and become best friends. -sigh- what should i do?

Trying to look for a specific person is not always easy. ive heard one of my friends say before "if you don't have what you want, we have to be happy with what we have" or something to that effect. i agree with her, i think the friends you have now are people you could get to know better, make more plans with, talk online more, etc. not everyone has to have a best friend to be happy.

I'm suppose to be helping in hosting my dad's birthday party and im suppose to prepare a CD that people can dance to since my parents dont want to pay for a DJ.. does anyone have suggestions for fast/slow songs that people (adults/teenagers) can dance to? Ones that my parents will find appropriate (ie no cussing or reference to sex type). Please help! any suggestions are welcome! (link)

Hey.
I know this is pretty basic, but on iTunes, how do you make it so it only downloads checked songs to your iPod? I had it like that before, but something got reset, and I forgot to do it :/

once you plug your ipod into the computer, the Itunes Screen will show the Ipod settings and things like that. Somewhere there, there should be a checkbox that says "Only dock checked songs" or something like that, check that box off.

well i kinda like this guy.. but the thing is my friend amanda and my friend kristen both like him. They dont know that i like him. Amanda thinks that this guy likes her and so do me and kristen. Kristen is really upset cause shes liked him for a while now. Two of my other friends like him. should i even both... cause i like him but it would be aqward if we were going out and than we were hanging out with them cause i would know that thier jelous. Im not even saying that he would even want to go out with me... i dont know what to do.. (link)

like him if you want, that's not a problem. but remember, letting a guy come between a friendship could result badly. if he goes out with amanda, be happy for her, and be there or kristen too. it's ok for you to be jealous too, but it'll pass. there are plenty guys out there, and guys that three friends like aren't always worht it.

my friend james is not a conventional kid he is awesome but some people thinks he is crazy, that doesnt bother me .before he liked the most "popular gurl in school" and when she rejected him he got all emotional and detached he wouldnt even acknowledge me but he got over that. but now he likes a new gurl and i no she will reject him because she is my friend but and i no how she feels about him, i tell him not to ask her out because he wil get his heart broken again but he doesnt listen so today he asked her out and she said no and now he is detached again. im not sure wat to do now because it is weird to hang wit her when he is soooo upset. im rele want to help him but now he is taken his anger out on me. first of all you should make it clear that his taking your anger out on you is unfair and not going to do anything for him anyway. he seems to be pretty sensitive when it comes to who he likes, it's not easy for sensitive guys to get over someone. introduce him to some friends you know that he might mesh with well. hope this helps

Well..my parents grounded me for a year, for sneaking out of my house at night and then telling my mum to pick me up from a friends house the next day.
i got grounded for a year apparently..and its been almost 2 weeks and im dying to get out of the house.
does anyone have any tips to get me ungrounded..?

The best way to go through with that is to gain their trust back. do responsible things. help a sibling with homework. if your room isn't very clean, clean up, reorganize things. talk to your parents about how it's unhealthy for you to be locked up in the house for more than a month. write them a letter of apology. hope this help

Is it bad to have confidence and think you are pretty?
This is coming from someone who had low confidence for a large number of years. I would never call myself pretty.
but this is a new year and the past is left behind.
and I'm a lot happier now. It's scaring me I guess. I'm happy when I go out and I smile ...and feel pretty?
Is that bad?
I mean.. confidence in everything.. that you think you are good?

That's great that you have confidence! there is nothing wrong with thinking that you're pretty. the only reason that it'd be bad was if you got conceited about it, like if you were talking about ourself all the time or putting other people down for not looking like you, but it doesn't seem like you'd be that way.

Please help my friend's family problems?
my friend is having such a hard time with her family life,like she feel so bad and so sad and shes really hurting about her dad and her mom is divorsed cause her mom wants her to choose whether to go with her or her dad and her dad was like he isnt gonna pressure her to go with him or anyone that its her choice and that if she do choose her mom of course it will make him feel bad but he just wants me to be happy. and i dont know what to say about her family problems please help! what should i say to her? please and thank you (link)

Set up a sleepover night with her. tell her she could tell you anything, and you can help her out. maybe do something relaxing to help her get it off her mind for a little while. tell her no matter who she chooses, both her parents will always love her as much as they do now. hope this helps

i got in a fight with one of my best friends, and i don't want to be friends with her again, i mean i forgive her i just don't want to be buddy buddy with her anymore. My other best friend keeps trying to solve my problems and make us be friends again, but its none of her buisness. I've told her that im not going to change, but she wont stop bugging me. im fixin to get in a fight with her too! how can i tell her to stop, and that she wont fix anything? You have to tell your other best friend that it's not her responsibility to make you guys become friends again. don't yell at her, just calmly tell her "it's my life, i don't want people trying to change my decisions". hope this helps

Well lately ive been thinking a lot about my past and what affect it has for me right now. and my sisters died a while back so i never met them. they died before i was born. so then my mom and dad had another daughter (which was me) and they never wouldve had me if they survived. so i feel like im not really meant to be here, they are. i feel like it's on my conscience and i messed everything up. i don't know...
I guess my question is...
How can I stop thinking about this? It just makes me depressed, help!

Alright well my cousin copies me A LOT! I MEAN LIKE ALL THE TIME!
She's a year younger than me...i'm 13/f
-She wears her hair like me all the time
-She's trying to get a cell phone because I got one
-She's getting a perm because my hair is naturally curly
-She tells me im pretty all the time so she tries to look like me
-one time she came up to me and asked me if i liked the song mockingbird by eminem and i was like "no, i hate that song." so she was like "omg me too! it's so annoying." but then my other cousin nick ran up to me and said "she's lying, she told me she LOVED that song!"
It's getting to the point where I don't know her because she's trying to be me! She needs to be her own person but i dont know how to tell her cuz i've tried and it never worked. she's been copying me for years and i've confronted her about it like 3 times...
but i get jealous when she temporarily stops copying me and copies someone else
REALLY JEALOUS!
but whenever i ask her something like..."do you like the song say it right by nelly furtado?" she'll ask me if i like it first shell be like " i don't know do you?" and then if i say yes shes like "me too it's awesome." so then i change my mind a minute later and say "nah maybe not" so she says "Me neither" so i can keep changing my mind and she'll change it with me!
help! i don't know if i want her to stop!

wow, that could get annoying. but this may be a good sign for you in the future! you're obviously a good role model since she does that so much. you should tell her, it's ok to look up to me, but act the way you want to, like what you like, if i don't like something you like, it's not a big deal. i wouldn't worry much. hope this helps!

what a coincidence! i don't get life either, lol. Well it's so hard to be yourself when the world is so judgemental. people don't get to know other people, they just base their opinions on how you look, act, etc. the best you can do is just not care about other peoples' negative opinions. they don't have a say in how you live your life. hope this helps.

Hey. I just met two of my good friends from school this year. They're both really nice. Lets just say their names are Jody and Samantha. The problem is that Samantha always likes to make fun of Jody. She's only joking around because I know she really likes Jody a lot but I can tell it bothers Jody. Samantha doesn't really notice it bothers her because she thinks that it's all in good fun. I don't know why she doesn't do it to me too but she doesn't, and they met eachother a few weeks before I met them. At first they both used to make fun of eachother (you know stupid jokes) but now I can tell Jody really doesn't like it. Samantha always includes me in this when she's joking on Jody and she'll always be like "Lori look at Jody" and laugh or she'll pretend to whisper something. It looks like I'm involved whenever she does this. Then, Jody will ask me what she said later and since it's so stupid I just tell her but then say something like "but she was only kidding". Then Jody will go and say to Samantha "Lori told me what you said" and it looks like I'm starting trouble. But if I don't laugh at Samantha it will look like I'm some uptight wierdo even though Jody doesn't like it. And like I said I know that when they are having a normal convo, they're the best of friends so Samantha's not doing it to purposely be cruel. Does anyone have any ideas so that I'm not always stuck in the middle or so that I look like I'm always siding with one of them? I really like them both and I feel bad when this happens. You should talk to Jody privately soon, tell her that if she doesn't want to tolerate Samantha's joke, she shouldn't have to. Jody should tell her that. and also, you shouldn't be dragged in the middle of these things. thats not fair to you. hope it helps.

have a sleepover with a lot of people! it gets crazy but i swear it's so much fun. I did it for my 14th bday party, everyone had a great time. it's just a really good thing to do, trust me.

There's this guy and he's.. just all trouble.
He tried beating up this other dude. But he was harrassing the dude's girlfriend. So he just walked away from them.
He came over and talked to my ex. Managed to get into a fight. A little thing, maybe 2-3 punches were thrown.
My throat closed up. My heart was beating so loud. My eyes burned and I wanted to lay down.
Of course there was no serious damage..
but
I don't know why I'm feeling like this.
I'm really sad and I feel like I'm having an anxiety attack.
I really care about my ex [as a friend] and I don't want him to get hurt. But it happened so many hours ago and I still feel all weird by it.

It's normal that you still care. He was someone you once had feelings for, and unless he was terrible to you, you both still care about each other as people. It's not easy watching someone you loved/had a relationship with get hurt like that. i think it's normal.

hey.. just a quick question..
ok ill put it in this prospective..
everytime i try to talk to my guy about 'serious' stuff, like how i feel about things, things in general, such as if hes upset me by saying or doing something without relising or just anything in general, he always goes all quiet and wierd. so now i just avoid talking to him about anything that might cause some conflict, i avoid confrentation basically. ive been with him for 7 months now, and i think were at the stage were i can tell him wat i think about things, how do i get him to open up, without me asking the questions first?

it's important for a relationship to include open communication. he needs to know that if something's bothering you, he needs to communicate with you and compromise, or else no one wins, it just gets worse. you're not doing anything wrong. just talk to him about your commnication. hope this helps
