I think everyone's thought that in they're life at least once. Life is tough. People are going to judge you no matter who you are or what you do. People put a lot of pressure on eachother to be
'perfect'. The best advise I can give you is to just be yourself no matter what. Just be whoever you want to be..don't let anyone tell you how you're supposed to act or dress or talk. Who you are is your decision, no one else's. If you just be yourself and don't care about everyone else's oppinion about you..you'll find people that will love you for you, and they won't want you to change anything about yourself.

what a coincidence! i don't get life either, lol. Well it's so hard to be yourself when the world is so judgemental. people don't get to know other people, they just base their opinions on how you look, act, etc. the best you can do is just not care about other peoples' negative opinions. they don't have a say in how you live your life. hope this helps.

I was once asking the same question, because it's just so easy for us as humans to not be our actual selves. Some people are hard on other people because of their personalities, yet they can't even handle themselves. I think it's important to be yourself, because chances are you'll have more friends. People who meet you don't want someone fake, think they know you, and have you turn around and surprise them (sometimes good, or for worse). It's okay to just give out pieces of you when you're out in public, that's fine. Not EVERYONE needs to know your life story. People who are interested in you at first anyways will THEN ask you more about yourself.

Hey,whats up?
A person should always be himself, and shouldn't change who he is, because if he does, he would just be faking and pretending. And there are some people, who find that when they change themselves in public and when meeting new people,it would help to impress and make a good impression to the opposite person. But actually, being yourself is the best option, the best and only option.
And here, it looks to me that your one of these people, and your afraid that people wouldn't like you for who you are, but thats totally wrong. Because being yourself makes you unique and special , and who doesn't like you for who you are, then they are just idiotic dumbos and they are the ones who don't get life. Besides, only the closest people to you are the ones who always accept you the way you are, no matter what.
So basically, there is nothing much to get about life. Just act natural and cool, and in my opinion, i see that all you need is a boost of confidence and believing in yourself, because you care too much of what people think of you. And thats not something bad, infact, thats something alot of people are characterized with, but try to have more self esteem and confidence. Goodluck.

The people who don't like how you act are jackbutts. The people who don't accept you forwho you are aren't your friends. Theres always someone who will like you for who you are. You shouldn't have to change yourself so someone likes you.
Honestly no one gets life. You just have to live it. Take chances. be yourself. lol

Yes absolutely. When you're contantly meeting different people in life, it is hard to be the same old self all the time. For eg, if you were to meet someone wacky and crazy, you'll tend to be crazy as well. When you meet mature people, you tend to keep your cool and be more serious.

Yes I get what you mean. I hate it when people always say "be yourself". Quite frankly speaking, I don't know myself. How the heck do I be myself? I have no f***in' idea.

But I think what people are trying to say when they say "be yourself", is to just melt and blend in with everyone else just naturally without trying to change your primary behavior and principles. Say if you're a humourous person, then that humour factor should always be in you, even when you're around serious people. It's just that it may take time for that humourous factor to emerge and come out in full blast. Either way, you'll still remain as that humourous person wont you? I guess that's what it means to be yourself.

I guess the right word should be to "be comfortable" around them, and you'll do fine. I still behave like a monkey and tell jokes around new people. It's just that if I'm with conservative people, i reduce my crappiness and show a quieter side of me.

I just take it that I'm showing a different side of me instead of telling myself that I'm fake whenever I meet new people.

Life is complicated! One of the worst things you can do in life is not be yourself. You can put on an act all you want but someday its gonna come back and bite you. You don't want to be fake around people because of one thing, "thats not who you are!" You need to be real and be yourself, if someone doesn't except you for who you are, then forget them. All I have to say is do be yourself and don't put on an act to impress other people. People putting on an act and being fake is what makes this world so difficult.
