I am a 16 year old girl, who loves to act and I love to preform in shows. I have done many shows but my problem is I am not a singer. To be honest, my voice is pretty awful, so I can only really get parts in non-musicals or just be in the chorus for musicals. This is fine with me, but I love singing so much I just wish to improve my voice a little. Now I am not asking for a transformation that will suddedenly land me the lead in a musical...I know that isn't realistic, but I would like to improve my voice. I do NOT want to have a voice teacher...I don't think my parents would spend money on that nor do I want to be that serious. Are there any other ways of improving my voice? Any tricks anyone knows? Also are there any websites that can help you for FREE? Also what would be a good broadway song to sing at an audition?...my voice is on the lower side (I cannot hit high notes). Thanks You! (link)

I suggest doing what I do...pick one radio station that you really like,and listen to it all the time.You should get to know almost all the songs they play and you can start singing to them in the car,your room etc...it really helps.
Also,warming up you should gargle with warm water and do the whole 'do re mi fa so lo ti da' thing...
Then just try hitting high notes.Just do it.In your room if you don't want anyone to hear you.Practice makes perfect.
After a while,get some of your friends of family to judge how much you've improved...pick your really honest friends :)

Ok, I'm trying to lose weight but I get bored often and I've found that I eat when I get bored, even if I'm not hungry at all. What are some things to do when I get bored?? I mean, I live in a place where you have to drive 15 minutes to the nearest mall or movie place so shopping isnt an option. And I'm only 13 so I can't drive...What are some fun, random things to do around the house? (link)

Well...15 minutes really isn't that long...
-Workout...rent one of those aerobics movies and try it...its actually quite fun
-Dance around...
-Take a bubble bath!
-Draw,write poetry...or even a book!
-invite friends over to hang out
-take care of your pets
-Read a book

I just got on birth control because of my period. I was wondering if any of you have been put on it and it DIDNT' help lighten your period and make it shorter? For those who have, was it a dramatic difference? Anything else I should know? (link)

Well,I wouldn't use it just to lighten your period...especially since the pill can cause you to gain weight quickly and other nasty sideffects.

Use PROACTIV or clearasil or whatever acne treatment you have quickly.
Also,put some concealer on it to cover it up.
But most of all,don't pick at it.

well school is starting up soon and i want to start wearing makeup. i havent worn any makeup before besies mascara. i need some tips on what colors and what i should where to get a natural look. i have dark brown eyes and hair, and semi tan skin. suggestions please?

Get a concealer that matches your skin tone...
Dark brown eyeliner would be ok,too
and a TINY bit of blush.
Mascara is completly fine.
Lip gloss is also ok.

I hear a lot of people say that applying toothpaste on pimples helps to clear it. I asked my dermatologist if that was a good remedy, but she said that there's no known ingredient in toothpaste that would aid to get rid of pimples. Does it really work? I would try it out myself, but I'm a little skeptical of putting toothpaste on my face. (link)

I'm 13/f. I just discovered that the person I have had a huge crush on for two years (he's really cool; the smartest kid in the grade and he's really nice and he's my only guy friend) doesn't like me back. I feel awful. He doesn't know. Is there anything I can do? How can I deal with this? Should I try to stop liking him and move on? Please I know that a 13-year-old's problems aren't as important to you as an older person, but still it would be really really nice if someone could help me.

Its a bit odd...but height shouldn't matter in a relationship.
If your so worried about it,try not to wear heels or platform shoes around him.

Me and my friend have been like sisters ever since we were 11 years old...we are 18 years old now. We have been through alot together and are closer than we've ever been to anyone else in our entire lives. But none of my friends really like her and i think its because they see something that i dont. they see that shes not really a real friend as they like to say. she is constantly disappearing for days at a time and getting me worried and then calling up and saying she went down to her old neighborhood, where she is up to no good down there. anyways, she was with one of my other close friends for about a month...but the entire relationship was crap. she was never there for him, never really called him, was ditching him all the time, and so on. she finally got the courage to tell him she'd rather just be friends, but all the times she ditched him, me and him would chill. me and him have been friends for about 4 years. now, we confessed feelings for eachother. she was fine with it and didn't care at all since she says she "never really like him" in the first place...she just felt bad breaking up with him. but just last night, she flipped out on me and him saying were "low" and dirty for doing this to her because her and him "just broke up". she said she thinks im just trying to get back at her for things she did to me in the past. it has nothing to do with that! we just want to be happy...and we've always had feelings for eachother but just never said it until recently...but now, i dont know what to do.
ps. i just broke up with my boyfriend of 3 years ago last month because he didn't treat me right and we've been through so much pain and i couldnt take it anymore.(me and my friends ex said that we are taking it VERY slow and being friends for now until were both ready to start a relationship...and this guy is amazing ..everything i want..if that helps at all) (link)

Hey. I was wondering, what is the best way to get highlights done...at a salon or at home using the highlighting kit. How long would it take if I were to get temporary highlights? How long would it last? How long would it take for the highlights to appear on my hair? I have like dark brown hair that looks black (I'm African American), and I was thinking of getting brown or light brown highlights. What do you guys think looks best?

Brown would seem to be better...and getting it done at a salon is easier,and way less messy :)
It depends on how long it will last...
-It won't last as long if you swim in pools alot ((due to the chloreine(sp?)))
-It will last a bit longer if your out in the sun more,and make it blend in more with your natural hair.

Black is pretty good on everyone...and hold down your eyelid with one finger and use your other hand to put it on.Then for the lower lid look up high and put it on.

I have liked this guy for four years and in the beginning we were friends but one thing led to another and he found out i liked him and stopped talking to me. Two years passed and we didnt talk we couldnt even look at eachother in the face and i felt miserable because i didnt understand why he stopped talking to me. This past year i turned sixteen and invited him to my sweet 16 party . I told myself that if he came i should still wait for him but if he didnt forget him but he came to the party and we had a pretty good time together. Ever since the party i can't stop thinking about him and no matter what i feel like theres not going to be any other guy for me. My boyfriend's birthday is September 14th, and I dont know we're so alike and things like that but I still am so lost on what to get him for his birthday.
It's his 16th so I dont want to just be like "OH HERE" and hand him something stupid. Plus, Im gonna try saving up but i just hope im not limited on money and all that stuff. But yeah.. any ideas? Tell him about your feelings,hopefully he should assure you that nothing will happen.
Another way to kind of 'claim' him is to give him something that he will wear often,or take to school often.A necklace,shirt...something of that nature.
If you go to his school,meet up with him after class,give him hugs and kisses...even when the other girls are watching.They should back off.

After about 10 minutes into a shower i'll start to get dizzy, my head will hurt, my vision fades, and i seriously feel like im gonna be sick. this has happened to me a few times in the past off and on but now its becoming ritual (and its only when i shower). its so bad that i'm not even able to finish showering. does anyone know what's going on and does this happen to anyone else? i've tryed opening windows and changing my products but nothing helps. i'm at the point where i'm seriously afraid to shower lol... i'll take any advice i can get, thanks

Hm...perhaps your shower is too hot?Or too cold?
Try putting it on a lukewarm temperature.
Also,ask your doctor and get out of the shower and lie down if you start feeling dizzy.

ok so, last night i went to a party and met this really cool guy. he's a friend of one of my ex's. he said it was a birthday party when he invited me so one of my friends wouldnt feel lonely. well i found out later that the party is for his girlfriend. but he really wants to end the relationship. she controls him all the time. and so idk i just kinda like him. and he called me up last night and we talked for a couple of hours and he asked me out on a date tonight so we can get better aquainted. it seems fine to me but im just not sure, hes 18 and im 16, which isnt bad because ive dated 18 yr olds before, like all last year. i just dont really kno what to do. is being interested in him wrong?

Its not wrong to like him at all.
You two seem to have a mutual attraction from what I've heard and I think you would make a nice couple.
His ex/future ex dosn't sound right for him...give him confidence to help him break up with her and tell him you'll be there for him.
