Hey, I'm Mara. I love dancing. It's practically my favourite thing to do. I love House, R&B, pretty much everything with a good beat, and Benny Benassi is my hero; that's why my column is a shrine to him. I graduated this year and am now in my first year of college where I'm trying to pick a major. Chances are you'll see some of my Psychology questions floating around somewhere here. I'm also extremely interested in Political Science too because I, like half the people living in Canada, somehow want to change the world. I particularly want to find a cure for poverty, corruption, cancer, AIDS and George Bush because honestly, I think those are the biggest problems we have right now. I have decided that maybe I should take the time to live a little before I start though because I have a good fifty years ahead of me to fix all the issues there are. Currently my life consists of: studying, working, socializing, eating and ocassionaly sleeping. I spent practically all of my high school life being a delinquent and partying to huge extents until I discovered my brain sometime in the middle of my senior year. I still like to have a good time every once in a while but you always need to find that balance (I haven't exactly found it yet but I'm getting close). Unfortunatley, a habit that has stuck with me from school is my obsessive gossiping. I just can't stop and you know, an article in Cosmo says that gossipers are healthier people because they bond over it? Who would have thought? Anyway, I do have my limitations and I don't condone nasty, brutal gossiping and I don't gossip about anything my friends have told me in confidence or something about someone else that they have slipped to me, however, if I find you in a washroom at a random party making out with my bestfriends's boyfriend, a few people are probably going to hear about it. Actually, more than a few people will hear about it because one of my absolute pet peeves is parties where the all the bathrooms are occupied due to sexual activity or... puking activity. Sooooo what else is there to know about me? My favourite thing in the world is shopping and my worst fear is existantialism. I am OCDey in a clinical way so you can ask me questions about that. You can ask me practically anything you want except for dumb questions but I'm not going to answer them in my little column here because it's a huge waste of space when I could be writing about myself (Click 'LookIt' on my menubar for answers to dumb questions so you don't have to embarass yourself asking them and getting bitched out from me). What I can do, is offer you three pieces of truly inspirational advice. Firstly, never live your life by what others want of you, cherish yourself and everyone around you, and never beat yourself down about anything you couldn't have avoided. Secondly, donate at least ten percent of the income you earn in your life to someone who needs it. Lastly, never get into a bulldozer when you're under the influence and start driving it towards a poor freshmen (I am never going to another kegger ever again... ever). Ok, I'll shut up now. You can start asking me stuff, if you haven't hit the back button already.

I have a 60% cotton, 35% poly, 5% lycra white button down shirt that my husband shrunk in the dryer. I would like to save it since it was brand new and quite expensive. What can I do? Will rewashing it and hanging it dry do the trick, help....
I would say your best bet is to wash it in cold water and hang it.
When I shrink my clothes, I usualy wear them for a bit and they eventually stretch themselves out.

Well it looks like she flips her hair out a bit. You can try doing that with a round brush and a blow dryer or a curling iron.
Although, straight hair usually wouldn't stay like that without some sort of product in it.

So i spent the night at my friends house.
Her brother and I were watching a movie.
He got up to get something to drink.
I put my feet on the sofa,then he came back he didnt move my feet instead he grabed a pillow and layed on me.
Then later on her grabed my hands.
Awhile after that,i was on him.
As in he was siting down,and my legs were over his.

Wow, this is a difficult question. I don't have enough information to get a better answer for you (i.e. How long have you known him? Did he go through a hard time? What did you guys talk about?)
He probably has feelings about you. It was late at night so he was feeling pretty unguarded, got caught up in the moment and became really affectionate. Then he was ok in the morning because he's used to acting normal around you.
On the other hand, If this was last night, it was New Years and maybe he felt lonely and needed someone to be with who he felt close to.
I'm going with theory number one though, this isn't very platonic behavior. The important thing is for you to figure out how you feel about him having feelings for you.

He might taste like cigarettes if he had a smoke before you kiss. If he hasn't had one for a few hours, he probably won't.
You couldn't get cancer from kissing him. However, if he smoked around you all the time, you might have a chance of getting cancer from second-hand smoke (which is unfiltered) but that won't happen unless he smoked 25 ciggs a day in front of your face for five years.

You don't need to give him anything. Like a random flowergirl said to me, "Valentine's Day is the one day you can recieve something from him [your boyfriend] and have him not expect anything in return... except the obvious" and since you've been going out for just two months, that's kind of out of the question unless you've done it already. If you want to, you could make him a cute card or get him a rose but it doesn't matter much.
Unless he's a nonconformist, he'll probably get you something along the lines of: red, chocolate, roses, stuffed animals.

I'm trying to eat healthy, and I wanted to know some foods you recommend for the following catagories that are healthy. Please be specific, I need all the guidelines I can get (and I am pairing it with exercise). Thank you!

I went on a diet for two months and this was my bas routine:
Breakfast: FRUIT! Any type of fruit will do with the exception of bananas. Try an apple or an orange. Drink a glass of milk or organic orange juice at this point. Cranberry juice is a good fat burner ('juice', not any 'cocktail')
Lunch: Try a turkey sandwich with lettuce on whole wheat bread. It doesn't just have to be turkey though, you can try different meats from your deli section.
Snack: Do a repeat performance of breakfast. Eat any type of fruit. Celery is a good fat burner. Popcorn is a nice low-fat snack (not the buttered kind).
Dinner: Make yourself a chicken ceasar salad (with low fat dressing) or try different spicy foods (spicy foods cause you to burn 3x as many calories as you would normally for up to two hours after you eat)
Also, avoid all alcohol. Once or twice a week, indulge in a bar of chocolate or a bag of potato chips to reward yourself. Just don't overdo it.

How much money depends on where you buy them from. You could get them from a department store like Zellers or Sears for cheaper, or you could get them from a specialty store like La Vie En Rose, La Senza or Victoria's Secret for different prices.
Unless you wear a skirt or something really tight, she shouldn't notice. Just remember to wash them yourself. If she does notice, act like it isn't a big deal and you just don't want your panty lines showing. I started wearing my first thong at 13 because my pants were really tight and you could see my panties through them.

I'm moving from Michigan to Nevada, and using one of those "You pack,we drive" services to move my (one bedroom's worth of) large furniture. Bed, dresser, bookshelf, stuff like that. Is there anything I should look out for with this moving service. Someone mentioned that I should take pictures of the furniture before I ship it off? Any ideas?
That's a good idea. You should also make a list of all the items you're shipping and their value at bought price and have business sign it so they know that they're responsible for your furniture and will have to pay if they misuse it. This way, they'll be enthusiastic about the check because if you make a claim, it'll be their ass. When you arrive in Nevada, check off everything on the list.
Also be careful about moving companies. I moved from England to Canada and somewhere along the way, lost $10,000 worth of furniture that they only paid me $1000 for. Ask for references before you use them.

Including the results. Even if the results came out positive, I want it to be kept secret. Do you know if doctors tell parents this kind of information?
If you go to a Planned Parenthood clinic, they'll deliver the results to you without your parents knowing. If you go see a doctor, they can't tell your parents either if you ask him not to. It's illegal for him to tell your parents. I recommend you take a friend with you for support when you go to get tested.
If you're in a relationship with this boy, I advise you to take him to be tested too. If not, always make sure that a guy you're about to be intimate with is tested, or atleast use a condom.

does any one know a good monologue from a play (not just a published book of monologues) that is appropiate for a girl somewhere between 15-18? i want it 1930s or later - nothing from shakespeare. i would probably like a way to obtain a copy of the play as well, but i don't want to buy play scripts without first knowing if there are any good monologues for me in it! any suggestions would be great, thanks!

I'd give it a 5 or 6 but that's just because I always think the classics are better. If you haven't seen the original, it's ok for a modern-aged film.
Shaun Of The Dead is pretty recent and it's pretty funny and has lots of gore at the same time.
Beetlejuice is funny but it's pretty old and it's on TV all the time so you have probably seen it. Same with the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
A very funny but fairly old movie is Dracula: Dead And Loving It. You probably haven't seen it before but it is hilarious. It's one of my favourite movies of all time.
