MikeCFT answered Sunday January 1 2006, 2:32 pm: Many people do not realize just how easy eating healthy can be and how good it can taste.
Here's a few ideas at making healthy meals and getting the most for your efforts:
-If you must eat bread NEVER have white enriched bread...Yea it says it's enriched (Really means enriched with sugar) Stick to 12 grain or TRUE whole wheat bread..not white bread dyed brown
- Do not cook with regular (Magic word- Enriched) white flour..instead use buckwheat flour or a cheaper alternative is to go make your own Oatflour (Just get regular oatmeal, place it in a blender and blend until its like flour). This will add dietary fiber and an excellent low Glycemic Index carbohydrate to your diet needs.
- Try to avoid frying. Grilling, steaming and poaching are best. If you must fry then I suggest frying in sesame, peanut or vegetable oil.
- DO NOT be afraid to eat and give your body calories, because after all..it's first priority is its energy needs.
- (For bodybuilders and those working towards gaining size) Have a slow burning Casein protein before going to sleep. Essentially, Casein is a slow burning protein which digests in roughly 7 hours in the body, unlike whey protein which digests in around 2 or 3 hours. Casein protein can be found in milk and other dairy products. My recommendation is a few tablespoons of fat free or 1% milkfat Cottage cheese before bed. Imperialistic answered Friday December 30 2005, 10:30 pm: I went on a diet for two months and this was my bas routine:
Breakfast: FRUIT! Any type of fruit will do with the exception of bananas. Try an apple or an orange. Drink a glass of milk or organic orange juice at this point. Cranberry juice is a good fat burner ('juice', not any 'cocktail')
Lunch: Try a turkey sandwich with lettuce on whole wheat bread. It doesn't just have to be turkey though, you can try different meats from your deli section.
Snack: Do a repeat performance of breakfast. Eat any type of fruit. Celery is a good fat burner. Popcorn is a nice low-fat snack (not the buttered kind).
Dinner: Make yourself a chicken ceasar salad (with low fat dressing) or try different spicy foods (spicy foods cause you to burn 3x as many calories as you would normally for up to two hours after you eat)
Also, avoid all alcohol. Once or twice a week, indulge in a bar of chocolate or a bag of potato chips to reward yourself. Just don't overdo it. [ Imperialistic's advice column | Ask Imperialistic A Question ]
curliecue answered Friday December 30 2005, 10:13 pm: for breakfast do something with whole grains like a whole grain bagel or cereal or something along with fruit or veggies(maybe granola)
at lunch do like a turkey sandwich on wheat bread and lettuce and stuff
you can snack on ricecakes or fruits and veggies, those are good..(a good before bed snack is low fat yogurt) you might also think about a handful of nuts
and at dinner, you could have like whole grain pasta, veggies, and salad... but try to avoid overeating especially at dinner, and after dinner it is a good idea to take a walk (its really refreshing and its good for you)
Also drink plenty of water throughout the day, its more important than you think!
amberrrx answered Friday December 30 2005, 9:40 pm: I'm a vegetarian, so I can't help you out too much here. Just make sure you include fruits, veggies, and since I assume you eat meat, make it lean. Also, drink 6-8 glasses of water, and have 3-4 servings of milk. Drink one glass of water before meals, so you won't eat as much. And remember, it takes 20 minutes for your body to realize it's full. Hope that helps. [ amberrrx's advice column | Ask amberrrx A Question ]

deathwillcome answered Friday December 30 2005, 8:43 pm: Breakfast- (fast) cereal, grain as in hunny nut cherios or frosted wheats. (when you have time) Eggs, toast, milk, pancakes,or french toast and a piece of fruit. Apple, bannana, or oranges taste the best for breakfast. (just make sure not to eat too much of anything, except for the fruit)
Lunch- a sandwich(as in ham and cheese, or turkey, or tunafish) with a peice of fruit and a glass of V8 or fruit juice, or water. and if you don't have time, just try to stay away from the pizza.
snack- I have found that celary sticks and peanutbutter are a very good snack but you could also eat carrot sticks, or a peice of fruit. chips are worse than you think! LOL!
Dinner-Try to eat a little bit of everything, but make sure that you don't eat too much of all of it and try to excercise afterwards. a little run or some jumping jacks is okay, you don't have to overdo it.
( don't take me wrong when I give you ideas of what to eat, you don't always have to eat perfect. you can eat pizza and chips every once and a while. As long as you excercise or do something afterwards, and don't always eat pixxa and chips or that won't help a bit.)

xomegaroni answered Friday December 30 2005, 8:22 pm: ok for breakfast it'd probably be best to eat a good amount. i'd say maybe eggs, depending if you like them er not. they're pretty good for you. if not, cereals are good depending on what you get. special k is actually pretty good & maybe something like cherrios. for lunch something light would probably be the best. since breakfast is the most important meal, try eating something bigger so that for lunch you can eat light. i'd say a salad maybe er a small sandwich. something like that. try not drinking soda er caf. drinks. water & juice would probably be the best. you could also drink light iced tea. umm for a snack i'd say things like cheese, crackers, fruits, veggies, etc. for dinner i think should be your 'whatever' meal. eat whatever you feel like eating, juss watch your amount. basically stop when you're not hungry anymore. it doesn't really matter what food you eat, as long as you don't over do it.
