First off that's my special man friend with me way back from high school, and been dating now for almost four years now. Yeah he's pretty spectacular, and I love him to pieces, and that's all I have to say about that. I'm a full time college student and working on my gen ed, but I would like to get my bachelor's in gerontology and eventually get my nursing license. my grandma has been smoking for many, many years and sometimes when i think about it it makes me cry. nothing has happened to her yet and i always say to myself "nothing bad has happened to her yet but its just a matter of time and why should she wait" everytime she is with me i ask her why wont she stop and i give her things suggestions but she always says "tried it". how can i get her to really stop? one of my grandmothers already died I DONT WANT HER TO ALSO!

I know exactly what your going through. Only thing is, my grandma died from it and I watched her suffer and die from it. She quit when it was too late. I held her hand at the hospital when she died. All I can tell you to do is, be there for her. You can't make somebody stop something they want to do. It's not her fault. Ciggerates are very addictive. There more addictive than heroine according to statistics.

The experts like dermatologists say no but through my expierence, yes it does. For example, I break out really bad the next day after I have something greasy like patato chips or dark soda like Dr. Pepper.

Heyy there, my name is Ali. I'm interesting in purchasing a guitar. I love to sing so I thought they'd go hand in hand. I've wanted to play for a while, but I've been too busy. But now I've cleared parts of my schedule to learn how. I'm going to be taking lessons first .. but I need advice. What kind of guitar should I start out with? Something not too pricey please! Something acoustic not electric.

It depends on how much your'e willing to spend. I have a Yamaha and it cost only 200 and it's a pretty dam good guitar. Also an Ovation is good to. Don't get a Celebrity though. Those are crap. Ibanez are pretty good guitars too. i have a couple. Martins are a good choice of course. They range in price. Also Alvarez of course. Another would be to try a Washburn. I know, there really cheap but there actually pretty dam good guitars for the price.

Tomorrow I want to wear my hair curly for a change since it is always pin straight. I tried srunching my hair and my hair doesn't scrunch! I used good products too and it never works. A curling iron doesn't curl my hair! I know that sounds weird but it doesn't. And I have a good brand. What are other ways to make my hair curly for school tomorrow? Don't tell me to put it in braids because that messes up my hair.

Try using bobby pins. I know it sounds old fashioned but it works. What you do is wash your your the night before or just wet it. Then twist your hair. Seperate however much you want curled. And then put a pin in it.

I have a pretty big scar on my upper left leg from when I got surgery when I was a baby. Now that summer's coming up, I want to wear shorts and bikinis but I don't want anyone to see the scar. What are some ways to make the scar less noticible so you can't really see it?

I have the same prolem. I actually have a scar in the same place. Well, I use cocoa butter. It helped a lot. The scar basically disapeared within a month. It's still their, but unless someone is looking for it, they can't see it. Hope I helped.

okay well.. my mom she is putting me on a pill. and before i go on it i need a exam at the ghynecologist (sp?) she said it was only partial but im terrified. is there any way i can make this experience less scary, i tried using a tampon before and i was crying hystericall cause i got so scared and it hurt. please help me

My mom put me on the pill as well because my sister got pregnant when she was 15. Anyway, just realize, it's not that big of a deal. About every women goes through. It may seem uncomfortable when you go in the room but, it's not that big of a deal. I was nervous as hell to when I had to get it done. What I did was talk to the doctor before he did it. Think about something else to get your mind off of it. If your wondering, it doesn't hurt.

I wish my hair was curly. Well, you could try a relaxer. A lot of my friends have very curly hair and thats what they use. Also you could try using a hair straightener. I think curly or wavy hair is pretty, as long as it's clean. If I had curly or wavy hair, I'd go like that

I don't think it would be wrong at all. However, when the child is old enough to make up his or her own mind in what religion they want to be, you should respect that. It's your kid. You really shouldn't have other people make those kind of calls.

My boyfriend and me are on sports.. I'll probaly sound really stupid answering this question so bear with me. First of all, if you really want to do this, I would do it outside of school. If you caught, you'll be in huge trouble, like maybe kicked out for a while. Plus do you really want to do that to your boyfriend. If I were you I would rethink this whole thing altogether. I'm the same age as you and I wouldn't do it. If he's pressuring you on doing this, and you really don't want to, I'd talk to him about it. If he keeps pressuring you, I'd dump him. No guy has the right to do that to a girl. I don't want to be hard on you. I'm just giving you my advice.

Does anyone know ways to start a conversation with someone? A way that doesn't make you seem like a rambling idiot. Lately there have been many of those "awkward silences" in conversations I have with people.

Try using humor. For example, when I'm the phone with a guy, and there's a weird silence, I count until someone speaks. They usually bust out laughing. Or simply tell them you'll talk to them later. Either way, everybody has these moments and feel stupid when they occur. Don't think it's your fault. The other person probaly feels just as akward as you.

ok well this is kinda health thing but yah i wanted to ask about this acne prob. i have.. ok its a lil weird.. but uh ok i have a lil acne in between my "chest" and i hate wearing bathing suits b.c of it and i was wondering do i use regular acne soap for it or is there something special for it?? i know its weird but please help. thank you. ill rate!!

This is not weird at all. I have the same problem. Think of it this way though. Nobody can see it unless you wear shirts that show off your chest. What I do to keep mine under control is, I use the birth control pill. Also I use this nature's cure body spray stuff. It seriously helps a lot. This may sound weird but sometimes when you wear heavy material you may tend to break out around that area. I reccomend you maybe wear loose fitting shirts because, if you sweat, that may be whats causing you to break out around your chest.

when on a dinner date, how should handling the check go?

should i, the woman, grab the book and look at it, or should i wait until my date picks it up?

should i ask him how much it is? should i take the money out of my purse? how do i handle a credit card ?

In my opinion it depends on who asks who on the date. If you ask him out, you should pay. If he asks you out, he should pay. If he agrees to pay for both dinners don't argue, just let him. But if you want to pay for your dinner split the bill. In other words; let him pay for his meal and you pay for yours.
