my bff (i will call her jane) & i have been bff for a while now. i like her (obviously) but sometimes she acts so insecure...like she wants to be friends with these other girls who obvioulsy aren't that nterested with her. sometimes when i am with her & feel bad, because she seems so focused on being frineds with them that i feel like she doesn't want to be hanging out with me. i know she likes me, but every once in a while she will do something on an important day (like dances, new years eve) & if i ask her if she wants to do something she will be like "no i can't, i am doing something with _____" and she won't even offer to have me come, which is something i always dowith my friends (unless they hate each other, which almost none do, they all get along). it makes me feel bad, but i also know that jane DOESN'T have that many friends, so i feel like she does it to sort of show off that she's doing something. ahould i say anything, i mean its not that serious & it only happens once in a while, but i feel sort of unwanted. we like never fight though, so i don't want to start anything!

Tell her exactly what you just told a bunch of people on the internet. If she doesn't snap out of it, then there's nothing you can do. Tell her to stop being insecure and point out to her all her good qualities and how she doesn't have to change for anyone or pretend to have other friends. Tell her you like her for who she is and that if she really doesn't want to be friends with you she can tell you. Just dont be mean to her or inconsiderate - you seem like a genuine person to me. i hav a friend who is like my best friend and ive known for like 4 yrs but just this yr she moved to laval and changed schools, i thought i would never be replaced and she even told me that i wopuld never be replaced, but just yesterday i was talkin to her on aol and she added a friend from her school and she was acting totally different and telling me sbout how everyone there is soooo open and funny, and she had all these inside jokes and stuff and when she left the convo she said nice talkin to me, but she told her friend sum inside joke and started laughin away. And shes always telling me about how she went out with all these ppl at her school. Im starting to feel super left out. (and she didnt lie about any of this)

Aww, I feel you. :(, no seriously, I really think you shouldn't feel so lonely and stuff - because look, as people get older and have to go different ways, they change and have to adapt to their new setting - its only natural that she's sort of building a new life for herself. I'm not telling you to stop being friends with her, but maybe, know that its not like before and find someone else, she'll appreciate it...trust me on that. If she doesn't, point out to her that you feel left out. Make other friends, but still be her friend. Just get closer to the people in your own area.

My friend is having this huge birthday party! Her uncle owns the house in laguna beach and its gonna be a two day party. I've been her friend only for like 6 months but we're pretty close. My birthday was last week and i invited her and she came. I dont get y she wont invite me!! AT least 50 people are going so dont say she didnt have enough room in her 3 stretch limos.

She doesn't sound like a friend to me, thats for sure, and she's rude as hell - she should return the invitation. And by the way - dont feel bad OR left out - this girl seems like she's using what she has to make people her friends. Well soon enough, she'll discover that people will use her. Material doesn't mean anything - it doesn't beat loneliness and not having any real friends, so in the long run, just call her after her party and tell her happy birthday and give her a gift if she got you one - that makes you the bigger person. If she's a good friend she'll apologise to you.

I'm 13/f in the 7th grade


For a while, I've been having a real hard time paying attention. I get really bored easily, and I fidget a lot, I'm really slow (physically), and I get lethargic a lot. and I'm VERRRY disorganized. My school learning specialist said that there's a possibility of me having ADHD. but when I was little, I was always full of energy. Usually ADHD shows up in kids when they're little. Does my case sound like ADHD???

None of us on here can tell you if you have it or not - you need to ask a doctor/psychologist; the person who diagnoses that sort of thing. But on the whole, you could possibly just be like every other teenager that cant stand being in class. You sound like me and I sure as hell am not ADHD. Well, I LOVE middle school, but...its not the greatest. I'm not ugly, I've been out with a couple diff. guys the last few years, and I'm friends with regular/kinda popular/popular people. Although I'm not popular, and I'm not a geek. I have a feeling this year more guys are noticing me 'cause I've gone through some "look changes" as my friends call it, but I've heard that everyone has more fun/life gets better in High School.

I heard most guys get more mature, get done with puberty, etc, and girls get prettier, get nicer, get more mature, etc. Is it true? Does your life really get better in High School?

Whoa. Someone's made high school sound like the OC for you. Well, I'm sorry to say its not all that much of a big ass change - eh, it depends really. You'll get more homework and more responsibility but yes you will find that a few people mature a bit more. Its the growing process, not the transition from middle to high school. Getting prettier and nicer? No, high school is not Extreme Makeover. But I hope that things go well for you - high school if fun if you avoid trouble =).

I am so confused as of what i should do. My friend ("best friend") is sooo annoying. She hardly hangs out with me anymore, shes too busy hanging out with the 2 popular kids in our class,,its so obvious to tell shes trying to be cool. the 2 popular kids were talking about celeberty poker and how they love it. and shes like OMG I LOVE CELEBRTY POKER! haha!" and this is so untrue cuz, 1. she doesnt no how to play it,,or at least i think. When i told her about my camp stories and how we played poker she was like YEAH UMM FUN.

Ok so theres this girl, and we got along great, even best friends at one point. Then i started liking the guy she liked ( im a girl too. ) then she started hating me for that. I didnt care because i knew we would end up being friends again. Then i stopped liking that guy and so did she. She was going out with someone else. Then they broke up and about 3 weeks later he asked me out. I said yes and i really liked him. Then the girl gets so mad at me for dating her ex. I get why shes mad but ever since they broke up shes been doing nothing but talking about how much she hates him and how much she wants to kill him. She even told me she wouldnt care who went out with him. But now ever since me and her ex started to go out shes talking about how much she wants to hurt ME! She says shes gonna beat me up and stuff.. and honestly, shes that kind of person. So my boyfriend IMed her and said " if you lay one finger on her ill tell everybody to gang up on you.. " and things like that, and well basically no one likes her and trust me, if most people got the chance they would def. hurt her. But the thing is.. this girl really will hurt me! And it wont be the first thing shes done something like that..

Ok. When I used to hear about girls threatning to hit other girls, I rolled my eyes. Then I read this article in CosmoGirl about how serious girls are getting about actually going after other girls these days, especially over guys. So while I advise not to take it so seriously because as you say, not many people like her, I also think you shouldn't take it lightly - dont bother talking to her, I think she's just a jealous scum that thinks resorting to killing people sounds cool or something, but I say tell a teacher. And your parents. And tell someone to get that girl some (SERIOUSLY) help. I really think it would help the both of you if she got a psychologist's help...or the school councellor. Uh-huh.

If she does hit you, she could get in some serious trouble - I hope you're aware of that. Just dont ever put yourself in a position where you give her a chance or a reason to hit you...in short, dont get in to a fight with her, dont confront her, dont 'get in her way'. I'm not telling you to be threatened by her or afraid, just avoid trouble. Because this happens every now and then where I live, and I know how it is. Hey! Okay my i've been reallly upset lately because I have a crush on this boy named Jason and he likes my best friend, Gina. All the guys like her and it really sucks for me because Jason is the ONLY boy I like, and I like him so much. Tell her the truth. What you think of her and whats going on. I hate to say this, but as people grow older they change and they start wanting different things. It looks to me as if Gina is growing apart from you and your other friends because she wants a different lifestyle and you guys want to stick to the old ways. A girl that makes out/fucks with every guy she sees? There was this one girl at my school that got called a whore for having sex/making out with every boy she dated and such. But then again, she was thirteen/fourteen at the time. Basically, I think that if something puts your self respect and dignity on the line, its not worth it. Also, doing anything sexual just for fun, in my opinion, is whorish. Its gotta mean something for it NOT to be considered whorish. And, this is my opinion.
