Hey Hannah, my boyfriend gave me a hickie today right on my necka dn its super noticable. its still summer and i waer tanktops almost everyday and even a t shirt can't cover up my hickie. i hate wearing foundation or cover up to cover it up. i put ice on it imedetly after it occured and started massaging it like it said when i looked up how to get ride of it.
I was wodnering it takes aprox. for a hickie to go away. thanks =)

Heyyy, hmm..well mine usually go away within a day or two at the most depending on how bad it is. If none of that works, I'd just let it go. It's just like a regular bruise & there's nothing you can do to make it go away faster. The only thing you can do is cover it up.

Okay so I was just woundering how many times a week you should wash your hair. I know not every single day because its not healthy. I plan on asking my stylist thursday when I go to get my hair cut. But im just woundering how many times a week you think you should. Thanks

ok so i was hanging out with some friends (girls).. and some of our guy friends were outside, so we went out there to meet them. we had just come in from the pool and we had our bathing suits on, with like towels around our bottoms. and this one guy said to me "is that a new bra- i mean bikini?"

is that an insult? or like what was he trying to say?..

I don't see how it could be an insult. He probably just made an honest mistake or just sucks at making jokes.

can somebody explain to me what journalism really is?? my friend said she wants to go into that when she grows up and i've never known what it meant to go into journalism.

Basically, it involves writing. It can branch off into a number of areas involving jobs in the magazine, news, & newspaper industry.

I'm curious about the written part of the driver's test. The one when you get your permit and study the book, and when passing it you can legally drive with a parent or whatever.

Soo.. about the test. Here are the questions..

1) How long is it? (Approximate number would be excellent)
2)[From your opinion] Is it Easy, Moderate, or Hard?
3) How long did it take you?
4) What kind of questions were on the test? Were there any tricky unexpected ones, or purely common sense?

I'm curious because I am about to take it soon and I want to be prepared. Any response would be greatly appreciated. But write back ASAP -- I'm planning on taking the test this weekend (most likely.)

P.S. - This probably applies to some [maybe all] states, so if you have noo idea what I am talking about don't bother giving advice.

And it would be GREAT if people from Ohio (where I live) answered since tests are different from different states. Other states are acceptable (Points won't be deducted from that) but I much prefer people who live in Ohio.

1. Depends on the state. I'd say it's about 30 questions, but I couldn't tell you for sure..since it's been 3 years since I took mine.
2. Oh, it's easy if you have common sense & you're familiar with the book. I had a question with a picture of a stop sign & it literally asked me what I'd do if I reached that sign. I only got one question wrong & it was "If you're going 40 mph, how many feet would it take before you could stop?" or SOMETHING along those lines, Honestly, I think that question was probably the only as-if-i'd-know-or-care question. But I'd say it's pretty easy if you know your basics.
3. The actual test took me 10 minutes I believe. Maybe shorter or longer. Again, I don't remember to clearly.
4. Basically questions about what signs mean & common sense questions. I do remember a question or two about the alcohol blood level, so make sure you study more than just the typical information. If you go over the book a couple times, you'll pass.

If you want to get an idea of what to expect, try taking practice tests online. Or ask a friend who's taken it in your state.

well my ex, who was my first kiss, and first boyfriend, and first real love.. we went out for 4 1/2 months... which isnt really that long, but it was the most wonderfull time of my life.... well we broke up and that was about 6 months ago, but i still like him, but my BEST friend likes him and he likes her... yes my BEST friend.. and they are probably going to go out..... i just want to know how to be ok with it, and how to finally let my first love go??

That's tough & to me it doesn't seem very fair for your friend to do that. I mean, you're not going out anymore, but out of respect you should never go out with a best friend's ex. Especially if that friend is still not completely over him & fine with it. Anyways, it is tough to let something like that go because he was your first for a lot of things. But the only thing I can suggest is focusing on another guy or picking up a hobby or job to keep you busy. It doesn't seem like it's the best solution, but it does help. Don't associate too much with your ex & just try not to be reminded of the good times. I am not suggesting to forget them, just don't bring them up all the time because it'll be harder to move on. Overtime, you will grow apart from him. It may take weeks or even months, but try not to be surrounded him by too much. & time will heal everything.

So i just started taking birth control pills about a week ago. Is it normal To see Spots of blood , because i thought you get you period on the green middle pills? please help me =(

Like I told someone else, it's completely normal for the first 2-3 months to be a little crazy. So expect your period to be late or come early or spot in between. It just takes time before your body adjusts to the schedule of everything. After you've been on it for those few months, your period will almost always come on the exact day [or a day later] when you get to the green pills. No worries. :)

14/f.whenever i try to fall asleep, it takes me FOREVER to fall asleep. even if i'm tired i still can't seem to fall asleep. i always remember all of the things that i forgot to do at night. i just can't seem to turn my mind off. i also can never seem to get comfortable. help! this is driving me crazy!

I wouldn't really classify it as insomnia. But maybe you just need to lay down earlier & let your mind sort through those things. Or try reading. For some reason, that's the only thing that helps me fall asleep & I'm someone who suffers from an extreme case of insomnia & doesn't take any medication for it. Hope that helped.

Is it weird not to want sex? Other people have it before they are married, but I want it after. If even then. I always said I would adopt my children. How I see it children are like puppies. Puppies are sent to pounds because they were not able to be taken care of, or not wanted. (Same as children sent to adoption agencies.) And the reason puppies, and children, are not being adopted is because dogs, and women, keep having babies. Then when the puppies owners can't find good homes for them they are sent to the pound, which just keeps on growing. So why would we want children when there are several at adoption aggencies waiting for a good family to arrive and take them home? Plus there is all that pain, and blood. But because I don't want to do it are people gonna try to make me later on? Thanks in advance.

It's normal for someone your age to feel that way, so it's not weird at all. Eventually, within the next several years, your opinion will [most likely] change. You will see sex as something that's natural, painless, & wonderful. Honestly, I believe that half the people who get knocked up these days just couldn't keep their legs closed or just couldn't take the extra step of being protected. On the other hand, people want to have & raise their own kids. You can say you don't want to do it now, but later on, your hormones will react & you'll crave for sex. But if it's not something you want to do, then that's perfectly fine. It's your choice.

My friend claire and i have been best friends with susan all through 6th & 7th grade, then she moved in the middle of 7th grade and we wrote letters back & forth to each other. but suddenly about 6 monthes ago she stopped writing to us. we were wondering why so cliare went to susans hosue with anotehr friends and we found out she is on weed. cliare doesn't want to do anything about it but i feel like i should do soemthing. susan is VERY poor and doesnt have alot of money. idk what to do, should i call the police? what would happen? and would i have to get involved? Sadly, you have reached the age where people are starting to experiment. Since it is "only" weed, there's nothing you should really overreact about. I understand you are upset about the situation, but the best thing to do would be to sit down & talk to her. See if there's anything you can do to help her. Honestly, weed is becoming more accepted because it's not physically addicting or harmful as drugs like cocaine or heroin. [In that case, you would deal with the situation differently.] But right now, I don't believe you should get the police involved. You just need talk to her & eventually realize that her choices are her own & you can't really do anything about it.

Well, no. But you DO crave a lot more things & feel like you need to eat more. But I wouldn't eat any differently than you normally would. Just avoid anything that might cause you to bloat, because that's no fun.

I have a cousin who is 18 and she is obsessed with stephen coletti from laguna beach. it is really bad and scary and gross. she actually thinks in her messed up nut of a mind that she is gonna marry the guy. she bought like a really expensive gown/dress thing and always tells me how they are gonna name their kids peachy and cory. meanwhile i am sitting there thing of the best escape route out of that physcos house. she even has a pillow with his face on it and she actually masterbates with it and licks it and now their are wierd stains on it and everything! Okay, it's one thing to get on ebay & look for signed autographs by him. But anything past that is..just sick & obsessive. I don't think you can really sit there & yell at her for her problems because she obvioulsy doesn't see anything wrong with it. So maybe she does need to see someone. I have $200 to spend on a digital camera. I want it to be cool [like the slim ones] and have the option of taking pictures and recording short videos. What kind should I get and how many megapixels should I get? Thanks.

Go to Walmart. I was just there earlier this week to get mine & they have good prices on digital cameras for less than $200. Personally, I think Canon is the best brand. Whatever you decide to get, try anything with atleast 5 or 6 megapixels. Anything above that is going to be more pricey. Other suggestions - if you are someone who doesn't take 100s of pictures at a time before getting to upload them, try getting a camera with internal memory. Basically, this means your camera can hold pictures without buying a memory card. I have a 20MB internal memory & it holds a little over 100 pictures. On the other hand, if you are someone who takes a lot of pictures & can't upload them right away - you'll need to buy a memory card. They can get pretty pricey [which is why I suggested one with a big enough internal memory.] I know they start about $25-$30 for the smallest size. Maybe less if you get a good deal. As far as batteries - go with Energizer rechargable batteries. After using them, I can't believe people actually still pay for regular throw away ones. The rechargable ones can be bought for $20 at Walmart or Target - the price includes the charger. I've had my rechargable batteries for over a year & they are still working perfectly. Not to mention, they last almost twice as long as regular batteries.. so it's worth the investment. I know that's more information than you needed to know, but just wanted to help you save some money along the way. :)

Yeah, the first couple of months are really off & whacky. I know that if you're using Ortho Tri-Cyclen, you get your period when taking the last 7 pills [the green ones]. It might be the same color [or order] for the other pill brands, but it should say in the packet that it came with. It's hard to say when you'll get your period & how your body will react to it, especially if you didn't start it the right time. Just expect it to come whenever you take those last 7 pills or whenever your period would normally come [which would be within the next week or so] -- whichever comes first. After the first couple-few months of taking it, you should know what day [take or give] when you'll start your period. For now, you'll have to take whatever comes until your body is used to it.

I work with this girl Kelly. She is really pretty and I want to ask her out. I just met her today. What should I do? Should I ask her out? Should I get her number first? Is there an option number 3? Since you only met her today, I suggest asking her to hang out - that way you can get to know her a little better. Give it sometime & if she turns out to be someone you like, then ask her out. You have a better chance of her saying yes if you know eachother well enough & let some attraction grow. I, personally, don't think you should jump into a relationship without developing a friendship with that person first. I've noticed the relationship is stronger & lasts longer that way. That's my opinion, anyway.

Hello... I'm a 19 year old girl.. I'm studying in a university and taking up tourism.. I have a problem and that is, im dying to have a bf.. Most of my friends already have and i am so jealous. Some guys might find you too intimidating as in.. they don't have enough confidence to approach you. & those who know you, just see you as a friend under some circumstances. Don't ever think anything is wrong with you. I'm sure you're a wonderful girl [with the nice body, like you said], you just need to be the one who makes the moves. Next time you notice someone staring at you, catch them off guard by approaching them. Be the one to initiate the conversations & make the moves. Believe me, guys love confidence & when they see that, they'll be more attracted. :)

i have been taking the contraceptive pill for 2 years now and am in a serious relationship and am looking to get pregnant how long will it be till i concieve???? i stopped taking it last sunday???

I have actually read that if you're on birth control pills for so long, it's a little more difficult to become pregnant once you decide to quit taking them. I couldn't tell you "how much more difficult." & then again, I can be wrong. Obviously, you can get pregnant at anytime when you have unprotected sex. So you could very well get pregnant next week. Since none of us here are doctors, it's probably best you speak to your gynecologist about it. & he can probably give you a better idea or advice for your situation.

here is my problem. I am the kind of girl everyone says is really pretty but never gets a boyfriend or one that is high enough to my standards that i would day. I can get the ugly guys but comeon who wants that.


Anyways here is my situation. I met this kid at work and i found out he went to school with me. He is a veryyy atractive kid and seems like a truely nice guy.

He seems like the guy i have always wanted to date until i found out today he is a pot smoker.

My question is does that make him worth dating? I don't know much about him and by the looks of his myspace it looks like he does not smoke very often. I am totally anti smoking and anti drugs and out of all of my friends i seem to be the most outragous when it comes to that topic (i have drank only a small handful of times). So pretty much i am a good girl.

As long as he doesn't smoke around me you know i don't care but is her serously like boyfriend material? like i don't want to get my heartbroken over a guy who was never going to be comitted or whatever.

I am very confused on what to think and how to deal with this because i believe he likes me and i sorta like him too.

First off, someone who is involved in that doesn't make them a bad person. I used to be stereotypial & assume everyone who did that kind of stuff wasn't good enough. But I realized, some of the hugest potheads, druggies, & drug dealers can be the best friends you have. Yes, it does sound kind of ridiculous for someone from your standpoint to see that. But you just have to accept the fact that just because some people do bad things, doesn't make them a bad person. I say you give him a chance & as long as he's not one of those idiots who is stoned all the time, then he could turn out to be the sweetest guy you ever dated. Just make it clear in the beginning where your morals stand & I think he should respect that. Maybe you don't want to commit to anything at first. But atleast give it a chance. :)

14/f. i'm going into 9th grade, which at my school is still in middle school. now i have two questions:

1)is it easier to buy 1 large 3" binder for all five of my academic classes, or two colored 1.5" binders (one for my three morning classes and one for my two afternoon classes). i just need a first hand experience here. will two binders get too confusing?

2) i want to decorate the front of my binder(s). i'm going to get the type of binders that have that clear pocket on the front of the binder that you can slide a piece of paper into. i want to cut out things from magazines but i don't know what to cut out things that i won't like half way through the year. i thought of cutting out store names and things but i need more!

any input will help me A LOT!

1. If a binder is required for a class or two, get a small one for those. But if some of your classes don't mind what you use, stick to a folder for each class. It's lighter & easier [in my opinion.] If not, I think 2 binders would be fine if you want it more organized.

2. Just put a collage of you & your friends. You can always redo another one later on if you get sick of it. No big deal. :) Be creative.
