I have $200 to spend on a digital camera. I want it to be cool [like the slim ones] and have the option of taking pictures and recording short videos. What kind should I get and how many megapixels should I get? Thanks.

Personally, I think Canon is the best brand. Whatever you decide to get, try anything with atleast 5 or 6 megapixels. Anything above that is going to be more pricey. Other suggestions - if you are someone who doesn't take 100s of pictures at a time before getting to upload them, try getting a camera with internal memory. Basically, this means your camera can hold pictures without buying a memory card. I have a 20MB internal memory & it holds a little over 100 pictures. On the other hand, if you are someone who takes a lot of pictures & can't upload them right away - you'll need to buy a memory card. They can get pretty pricey [which is why I suggested one with a big enough internal memory.] I know they start about $25-$30 for the smallest size. Maybe less if you get a good deal. As far as batteries - go with Energizer rechargable batteries. After using them, I can't believe people actually still pay for regular throw away ones. The rechargable ones can be bought for $20 at Walmart or Target - the price includes the charger. I've had my rechargable batteries for over a year & they are still working perfectly. Not to mention, they last almost twice as long as regular batteries.. so it's worth the investment. I know that's more information than you needed to know, but just wanted to help you save some money along the way. :) [ hannahd's advice column | Ask hannahd A Question ]

Just go to like a target, wal mart, radio shack someplace like that and just ask the pople there. They will tell you what camera is good what isnt what will have recordings and what wont. But the thing is, most digital cameras will only hold a little amout of pictures. You need to get a a momery card too wich are also pretty expensive. So you might need a little more money thean that..

I dont know exactly what kind of digital cameras are out there because i ordered my on Ebay. What you can do is go to walmart and look at all the cameras they have on display. And when you find one you like asks the photo tech. if the camera can record videos. Most digital cameras will have this feature.
There should be tons of cameras that are under $200 at walmart. if you can find one there you can always try staples. I believe they have them there.
