I'll answer this for the heck of it... I'm considering taking the hard drive out of my computer, and changing my dad's laptop keyboard to type random characters as oppossed to the actual key you pressed. That would really creep him out.

You're going to call me crazy, an old fogey, a dork, or something, but do sit-ups... It sounds nuts but it really does work. Another one you can do is take a skateboard (if you have access to one), get on your knees, put your hands on the skateboard, and move forward until your belly is almost touching the ground and come back. It's tough, and it hurts a little bit, but it really helps.

I was wondering a few things about steroids.
- First, I'm not taking them for sports or anything, I have bad asthma and I have to take them to control my attacks.
1. What are the risks.
2. Do they make you eritible/angry all the time
3. Do they make your muscles large

There are different types of steriods. If it's a steroid sold in a store legally for the purpose of asthma, it should be fine. As far as being irritable, read the bottle and see if that's one of the side-effects, there are a lot so it's rather hard to tell. If it's a perscription, it should be perfectly fine.

I like the intro to this one. I used to be one, but I'll try not to be offensive... Just kindof break your own promise and tell him that you like him... That's what I tell all the girls here. He might be scared for two minutes, but then he may really start to like you after that. He may not, but you won't find out until you try.

Just do your best, don't beat yourself up to do something you can't. Some people make straight As. But making a B would kill them. Then others make Ds. But making a B would thrill them. Just try your hardest to study. Take time out of the day to study, write stuff in the books down on cards and when riding in a car or something take it out and quiz yourself. Take notes in class. Just work hard and maybe you'll end up with a passing grade, just try what works, but you can only do your best, that's all someone can ask of you. Now get off Advicenators and get studying (Just joking)!

My question is, why does it seem like an overwhelming amount of the advisors on this web site are teenage girls? I'm serious about this. Is it because they have more time on their hands, have a stronger feeling of needing to give advice, need more advice.etc.etc? What do you think the reason is? (link)

Well I am a male (obvoiusly) and I believe it's the massive amount of peer pressure there is on girls today that makes them want to get advice for their problems. Think about it - they're always wanting a way to get this guy they like to like them back, but remember, today the guys are always supposed to ask the girls out. And also girls are constantly needing ways to look good, because a lot of guys can be completely nerd-ish looking and still be a catch, or some that I know that are popular around girls even though they're huge - like 200 pounds or so, and they still are quite popular. So teenage girls are constantly looking at self-image and their emotions to figure out day-to-day problems. I know guys that wouldn't cry if they lost all they had and ended up living under a bridge, but even the most hardened, cold teenage girl will at least cry sometimes; they simply are more emotional, and tehy try to look to other people to help them out, not into themselves. So you have to realize that the female mind and the male mind have a lot of differences. That's not to say that I don't have problems with girls. I do, but I look to immediate friends to get help or advice, or maybe just look into my Bible to get it. Girls on the other hand would want to ask a bunch of simalarly aged girls or guys about their problems because they want help from all there peers so what she does is "right." (not saying it's always right, but a lot of people follow the crowd. Something I don't do at all. Like spelling correctly.) That's pretty much the only reason why there are a lot more girls on Advicenators than there are guys.

I'm 15 years old and I've never had a boyfriend. Pathetic, I know. The main problem people keep telling me is that when i like a guy i tend to be shy around him. I like this one guy right now and he knows i like him thanks to one of my big mouth friends. We've talked only maybe twice before he found out i liked him but thats the only time we've ever talked. When i see him in the halls he looks at me...what does that mean? How can i get him to like me without coming on to him as a stalker? (link)

I would walk up to him and flat out tell him. If he knows already and he looks at you, just tell him and who knows what might happen. He'll probably just want to be with you right then and there, there's nothing wrong with just outright walking up and telling him that you'd like to get together with him sometime if he already knows you. Just stay cool, calm, and controlled. He doesn't have to "notice" you and you don't have to be a "stalker." You can be "yourself" though and that can make all the difference in the world.

OMG I soo totally Love hard rock!..my favorite band in the whole world is Dirturbed and I love every one of their songs and i know the words to all of them and i listen to them 24/7...but i am a christian i like other music too but hard rocks my favorite....is listening to it a sin?? and do they worship the devil??? thnx for any help (link)

Well, to be honest with you, Hard Rock is really "Of the world" and I consider it a sin... Even if it does have clean lyrics. No I'm not some guy that listens to only anything piano, everything else is a sin - I'm not that type... I consider some Christian bands to be truly Christian, but I'd be careful with what you listen to, if it's really heavy, I'm going to say yes, it is sinful to listen to hard rock. To be Christians we have to look to God's word for instruction, and if we sit around and listen to hard rock, we're not really focusing on God. The whole purpose of hard rock is to get the blood pumping and the heart racing, it's a physical sensation, not a spiritual. And not to mention you don't look a lot different than most non-Christians when you do, it's like cussing and trying to profess to be a Christian. You may be just having trouble getting rid of your language, but nobodt's going to listen to what you have to say. I'm just saying... Choose your bands well, be careful who you listen to, and make wise decisions upon what the Bible says, not what your physical feelings or emotions are like. If you want a band that is uplifting yet still upbeat, with a good bit of electric guitar in them, try Third Day. It's clean, obviously Christian, and it's not hard rock - it won't make your blood race like other hard bands do. It's good music and I'm sure you'll enjoy them a lot. Just be careful with who you choose.

Okay at my job, I like my manager.... he's metrosexual, and of course we have that fratnerization rule. But anyways, he found out (not from me) that I like him, and he said he likes me too, but when I am around him, I don't feel like he likes me... I mean yeah he still laughs at my jokes and things like that, but he also said that if he wasn't my manager, he'd talk to me.... so I dunno if I am wasting my time, or if I should go ahead and keep talkin to him (promotions are in April, so if I do get promoted, I can talk to him...) so what should I do (and apparantely, he likes this other girl who's a manager, but she said she's over him...) I'm assuming you're a girl, right? Just try to do the best you can to get him to like you, don't rub it in or look like you're trying too hard, because if you do, you are trying too hard. Just go for it, try to get that promotion, and show him that you love him in a subtle manner.

Mine currently is bright red on dark red, but you can try neon green on black, baby blue on black (assuming you're a girl) and yellow on black... Try something new and see... I got mine simply by plugging in random color codes into the column settings.

Stay clean, and I'd advise you to get a new boyfriend. Sounds like all he's interested in is your body, and that could be really bad news. If you do go down with him you'll regret it, not want him to go down again... Even if he wears a condom, it can still break and get you pregnant, something I assume you do NOT want to happen. I'm just going to give the sound Biblical advice and tell you that it'd be wise to stay clean until your married. But the choice is up to you, if you want to go through with it, then you can, but don't say I didn't warn you. I'm just saying that he probably just wants you for the sex and that's it... And as soon as he isn't getting any, he'll probably dump you for some other girl, something you probably don't want. Hope that's clear to you!

You can, but I really don't advise it unless a friend that you trust knows him well, which it sounds like you do, so I'd say it's safe, and yes, if you like him, have fun!

You're going to have to inflict some form of punishment on him to get him to do the things you want him to do. Tell him to go to his room until he falls asleep or you'll call his parents... If they think it's bad that you did that, well you'll never have a way of getting the kid to unwind. Tell him if he won't eat now, he won't eat until his parents get back home... And that should put the whole situation in a different light, hopefully.

If you have random outbursts of anger, but then you can be well again in a matter of minutes, usually it means you're bipolar. To try to avoid being that way, try focusing on something else, such as music, friends, etc. Try not to let small things get to you, you only hurt yourself that way.

When I'm out buying blank CDs to burn on my CD burner, is there any real difference between plain ol' blank CDs and those "music" CDs? I mean, they have "Music" on the labels and they're more expensive, but I was wondering if that was all just marketing or if music CDs were really different. (link)

There's basically no difference, I've never heard of a "music" CD performing any better than a regular old blank CD. Frankly, they're the same.

With all honesty, I'm older and have never had a girlfriend. Maybe to most people that's not normal, but personally I think it's just fine. Most of my friends are also older and have never had a boyfriend or girlfriend, so I think you're just fine right where you are.

You can try just about Relient K song from the album "Anatomy of the Tongue in Cheek." Also you can try some Switchfoot songs like "More than Fine" or "New Way to be Human", "Zero Friction" by the Presidents of the United States of America, and just about anything from the 60s or 70s (Simon and Garfunkel, Beach Boys, Beatles, etc.)

I'm in a high school production of the musical Damn Yankees, and we open in May. I'm playing Gloria Thorpe, and I'm having trouble getting a concept of my character's role in the story.
Damn Yankees is a classic Faustian piece, set in the 50s-60s. In it, Joe, a huge fan of the Washington Senators, makes a deal with the devil to become a baseball player and help the team win the World Series (and beat the Yankees). However, he tricks the devil into giving him an escape clause, so he can return to his wife. The Devil tries to use one of his seductresses to foil Joe, but ultimately Joe's soul is lost because of the Devils' machinations toward the upstanding, moral reporter, Gloria.
Gloria is a sports writer and baseball fan, and is very hung up about the honor and integrity of the game. She initially likes Joe for his sincerity, but changes her mind when she discovers that he's lying about his background. The devil uses her to spread a rumor that ultimately leads to Joe missing his opportunity to enact the escape clause. The devil used a good woman to bring a good, if stupid, man down.
This bothers me, for a lot of reasons. For one, Gloria loses virtually everything in her pursuit of honor in the game (at the expense of her favorite team)--her reputation, her bond with the Senators, her credibility, and probably a great deal of self-respect. For this, what does she get? The liar going back and helping the team win, unfairly. And in the process, she helped to damn Joe, who was ultimately a good man, even if he made few very stupid mistakes. The only thing she seems to have gotten out of it all is some measure of respect from the Devil himself.
What I'm trying to figure out is, how should I play Gloria, in light of all this? Is there some piece of her that I'm missing in trying to understand how it works? Is there any sin she's committed that I can't seem to see? How should I treat her dealings with the devil? Am I missing or misinterpreting the very theme of the story? (link)

Doesn't sound too bad, it's a play, and it sounds like it's a part that needs to be played as kindof a mysterious character. If she's controlled by the devil, well then that's just part of the story, I wouldn't call it immoral in that sense to play that part in the play. Of course, if it seems too demonic or something for you, don't play it. I think it's all a matter of personal preference, if you don't want to play it, well then don't, but I really can't find any problem with it. Odd name for a play, though...
