about

I'm a mom of 3 kids in a long term relationship. I like to think I'm fairly smart(IQ 131), but I definitely don't know everything. I work a regular job, finished high school, but dropped out of my first year of college. I'm not religious, but I think of myself as pretty spiritual. I'm always watching and reading new things that interest me, because I love to learn new things. I guess you can really ask me anything, I love to give advice. I'm sure the people that will benefit best from my advice are other people like me, but don't take my word on it ;)

*sigh* i've been trying to get used to tampons for about 3 years now... and everytime i try, it never works out. ive only had it actually in 1 time, and that time was terrible because i insterted it wayy to far in and i had to get my mom to pull it out because it hurt soo badly. everyother time i tried, it only went in 1 inch. i cant get it to go in farther than 1 inch. i've tried lots of things. i'm using playtex slender regulars. i've tried putting petroleum jelly on it, so that way it slides better. i've tried squatting down, standing up, laying on my back. but nothing seems to work. everytime i get it in up to an inch, it starts hurting like hell. i told my bff and she said there's a barrier there and it needs to loosen up. HELLPP.... i dont know what to do anymore??

when you insert a tampon, you need to insert the tampon along the bottom wall of your vagina. I would suggest exploring with your fingers. The bottom wall is not as stretchy and spongy as the rest of your vagina. Always insert the applicator all the way to the rings/finger grip, then push the plunger in slowly. If you have the applicator pointing up too much, the tampon will get pushed up in the spongy walls on your vagina. It can be positioned sideways then, and not in properly, this would be uncomfortable. Just remember to relax, go slowly, and keep the applicator parallel with the bottom wall of your vagina. Hope that helps you some. good luck.

I have irregular periods. Sometimes every month, sometimes every two, sometimes every three. I am just wondering......what happens during your cyle when youve missed periods? what exactly does it mean? what is going on inside of you? do your hormones change? have i ovulated? i just dont know.

when you haven't had your period for a month or two, it just means that you didn't ovulate yet. You can bring it up to your doctor, and they may want to do some testing to make sure there isn't any underlying problem. Sometimes, this just happens. Othertimes, something may be going on. Goodluck.

ok so i went off depo about a month and a half ago and ever since then ive been bleeding pretty much nonstop. Not like heavy period but yeah. I was wondering if this is at all normal? oh and also i had sex around the time i went off it and it was pretty rough but there's no way that could make me bleed this much could it? thanks.

if you are concerned, you can call and talk to your doctor, I would talk before setting up an appointment. That is pretty common for depo. Your body has been used to having the hormone from the shot, that's what stopped any bleeding. Now that you are off of the shot, your body will go through some withdraw and take a while for everything to go back to normal.

My mom is 38 years old now and she works at night. My mom usually gets home from work about 3am. I have been waking up for close to 2 months now probably because I hear voices coming from the living room. Well, for the past few weeks now I've been sneaking into the living room to check out who my mom has over or whatever so late. It appears that she is talking to herself though!

It looks like my mom is talking to someone right across from her. She is looking straight ahead and everything, every time I have seen her! The weird thing is that it's basically dark in there. There is enough light for me to see the figure of my mom decently (including where her gaze is projected) and know that there isn't anyone else in the living room. She usually speaks quietened down, a little lower than her regular voice--sometimes down to almost a whisper.

She's really starting to scare me though. I've asked her on multiple occasions now about her night chats. She has, time and time again, responded with, "What are you talking about?" She appears to have COMPLETELY forgotten about it.

Should I be worried? What should I do?

If it's only light enough to see her silohette, how do you know she isn't talking on her phone? When you wake up and hear her, just get up and go out there. Nothing to be ashamed of. Just tell her you woke to use the bathroom and wanted to say goodnight.

I am looking for someone to help me out with problems coming my way. Also, I had a dream about spirits pulling me off of my bed. I woke up with my legs off of the bottom of my bed. That was kind of weird. I was just wondering if its possible for a psychic to read me from a distance?

I would suggest Sylvia Browne's books. She has books on all kinds of stuff. Now the dream you had doesn't mean spirits were actually pulling you off the bed. Most nights when we sleep, our spirits leave our bodies and astral travel. Have you ever woke up because you felt like you were falling? Sometimes we catch ourselves trying to leave our bodies and thats what happens. Sounds like this could be more what happened to you, then actual spirits trying to pull you out of bed. They have no physical form, and can't actually move anything without a lot of energy.

I was wondering what were the chances of a woman getting pregnant even when using a condom?

condoms are 98% effective, but can be 86% due to human error (improperly used, broken condoms, etc.)

is it better to work out before or after you eat?

Some people work out in the morning, that boost your metabolism for the whole day. You would usually eat before you work out then, so you don't tire too quickly. A lot of people work out in the evening, that would boost your metabolism so you burn more calories while you sleep. You would work out after dinner then.

My problem is this, There is this woman that my husband went to high school with. They were supposedly really good friends, but nothing more. My guess is because she is over 6 feet tall, and my husband is less than 5 foot 5 inches, but I really don’t know. After my husband and I were dating for about 2 years, I found him and this woman sleeping in the same bed, and she was topless. She gave a half hearted excuse about how she was just drunk and it hurts for her to sleep with a shirt on because she has fake boobs. I don’t know if anything happened that night or not, and it’s because of that, and the love I had for my husband that I let it go. He lied to me about going to hang out with this girl sometime after that, and also took her along on his bachelor party, which I find inappropriate.

This girl flashed everyone at my wedding reception, hangs all over my husband, and is basically an attention whore. I wouldn’t mind him hanging out with her, if he would let me have some friends of the opposite sex. But the only male friend I have, he won’t let me hang out with because we used to hold hands back in elementary school.

I feel disrespected by my husband because he doesn’t care this makes me uncomfortable. When I try to bring up how this makes me feel, he turns it around and gets mad at me for "not trusting him" and swears she is just one of the guys. I think he does this to cover up his wrong doings.

Am I over reacting? Should I even try to talk about this with him? If so, what do I say, and how do I keep him from making me the bad guy in this? I can never come up with a good enough example for him to see where I am coming from. Any help is appreciated.

He is definitely very controlling. If he is allowed female friends, then you are allowed male friends. He is your husband, your EQUAL, not your father or superior. I would suggest consoling if you want your relationship to work, but I would find out if your husband is even committed to your relationship. Counseling will do nothing, if he isn't committed to making everything turn around. It is very disrespectful what he is doing, and I can understand if you don't trust him one bit. I would just start going out with him, when he goes out. Tell him that, if you can't hang out with your guy friend, then he can't hang out with her unless you are there. If he accuses you of not trusting him, tell the truth, that you don't trust him. Everything needs to be out in the open so you can start repairing your relationship with him. You most definitely are not overreacting, and you should talk to him about this. If he comes up with excuses trying to make you the bad guy, then he is hiding something. You just need to find out how bad it is, and if the relationship is worth working out. I wish you the best of luck.

I have a older sister who I cannot quite understand why she acts the way she does. She is 25 and has always lived with my mother. She has always had a problem with her finances. She cant seem figure out what kind of a career she wants or what she wants to do. She owes almost everyone money and the money she does earn from her waitress job gets blown on booze, clothes, food and fun. She seems to make spur of the moment decisions and is very easily influenced by freinds who dont have responsibilities like her. The same kind of friends who live with their parents and have absolutely no obligations. I almost feel like she has no conscience about spending money when she knows she has debts to be paid. Sometimes i feel she has the potential to be a homeless person! This is just a tip of things, there is so much more detail but it would take days to explain. Please help! I need to know what i should do to help her and how i can get through to her!

First off, it sounds like she has very low self-esteem. Responsibility, is something that has to be taught, and many people just don't get it. I'm sure she has a conscience, but she may feel that people think bad of her anyways, so it doesn't matter what she does. She should probably get some self-esteem consoling, and talk with a financial planner to learn how to budget finances and be responsible with money. Your mother should be charging her rent, and should be kicking her out if she doesn't stick with it. At her age, it will take something drastic to teach her to start being responsible, no matter what people think of her.

Okay, These are two poems

I, Who

I, Who walks the path of unconsiousness lives an Illusion
Breaths the air, Walks the earth
Thou this day my heart still beats

(What does this poem mean? ^)

2nd Poem..

I Am

I am, that tint of light in your heart
I wonder, When I look at the moon do you look also?
I hear, Your whisper, your cry, your sadness
I see, That teardrop stream down your face
I want to be that person to lift you up off your feet

I am, that tint of light in your heart
I pretend to be nothing but a friend to you
I felt, Nothing but love for you
I touch, Your heart with my own words
I worry, that one day I won't be here when you really need me
I cried, when you've cried
I am, That tint of light in my heart
I understand that when something hurts it stings
I say I've felt that pain many times before
I dream, You dream, We all dream
I hope one day you will the same for me
I want to be that tint of light in your heart

Both of these poems where written by me, I just wanted some outlook on others what they think it means to them.

Thanks :)

The first poem, conveys to me a person that is living for nothing anymore. They are an empty shell putting on an facade so others do not see the emptiness.

The second poem, seems to be someone confessing their love to someone that they can't actually confess their love too. confessing to someone that is hurting, but they can't be more then just there for that person.

I am a happily married 26 yr old lady. My husband and I are married 4 years as of today. My dilemma comes from us not having children yet. Both our parents are pretty much pushing us and nagging about "where are my grand babies?" I've told them we aren't stopping anything that it will happen when god lets it happen. Apparently that isn't good enough. I'm starting to get depressed now about it. Everything from us trying for 4 years to them nagging and then old family friends asking about it too, just makes me feel useless. I can't afford to go to a doctor to see why we haven't had children yet, so we are just going with god for now. Any other advice about it? I really wish someone could make me feel better, tell me a better way to deal with it or maybe someone knows something I don't. --Thanks

Some people just aren't destined to make babies of their own. There are many babies out there, with no families, just waiting for someone to adopt them. If you are ready for children, please consider saving a child from a hardship of living with the state. I'm sure your family will back you about your decision, and give you all the support you need.

Hi, i am 17 going on 18 and i had a baby in march 2008 and i need help on getting rid of stretch marks on my stomic i used that mederma cream for stretch marks it worked a little but i can still see them i want to get rid of them before this summer i really want to wear a bathing suit this summer to go swimming i havent went swimming in public sense before i had my baby and it really sucks somebody out there please help. thanks

I've had stretch marks since my first pregnancy. Yes, there are all kinds of creams and lotions, but they do not completely get rid of stretch marks. Small ones may disappear with creams, but larger, wide stretch marks will never completely fade. Whether someone gets stretch marks or not, depends on how elastic your skin may be. Most products for this kind of thing are very expensive and take a long time to work. If mederma worked for you, i would keep using it. Just keep in mind it could be a year or more until the marks are not very visible.

To add a little more from what you asked. Everyone's skin is different. My mother carried my sister and I, without a single stretch mark, but I ended up with stretch marks. So it's not even something hereditary. That girl you know just happened to have skin that is very pliable and stretched easily. I know it's not fair, I wish I didn't have any stretch marks either, but there isn't much you can do, aside from a tummy tuck. Over time, they will lighten up, and become more of a silver color and less noticeable.

Do diet pills really work? If yes, which ones work the best? Do you need to be of certain age to get them?
If not diet pills, are there any other drinks etc. that will quickly help you lose weight?

Diet pills are very dangerous. All those drinks and stuff you see on tv are scams. They are ok if you wanna lose 10 pounds quick for a wedding or something, but for the long term no. Eatting a healthy well balanced diet, low in fat and empty carbs, and high in fruits, vegetables, and lean meat, will give the best results. Exercising daily for an hr, and I mean sweat your ass off exercise lol. To lose weight you have to burn more calories then you are eating. Programs like curves and stuff will help keep you on track, but cost a lot of money.

Hello,
My friend and I have been friends since FOREVER!, but she is always constantly taking the guys that i like and every time i try telling her she gets mad and i don't want her to get mad at me and hate me. I mean we have been friends for so long! Also we have had trouble with other friends, for instance if i am friends with someone that she is not friends with and i hang out with them instead of her she will get upset...how can i tell her about the guys and other friends?
Thank You,
Cassie

It sounds like, even tho you have been friends "forever", she isn't committed to the friendship as much as you. She has no right to get mad at you for the people you want as friends. Best friends are supposed to be able to tell each other anything. Tell her about your other friends. It doesn't matter if she gets mad. If she is your friend, she will get over it. My best friend from high school was kinda the same. She always went after the guys I liked. Well, now that we graduated, and are adults, I don't ever hear from her. I tried to keep in touch, but she obviously didn't want that. Things change as you grow up, even friends.

I have thin, medium-short hair, and it's really dry. I'm sick of it. Honestly. It makes me so depressed. All I can do is tie it and never tightly, because I have a round face and it's unflattering to have tight, wound back hairstyles. I have been seeing one of the best doctors in NY for my hair. They've done every test possible and gave me Rogaine. (didn't work) I take a Biotin vitamin everyday. I NEVER straighten, blowdry, or curl my hair. Nothing. No colorings, perms, etc. It's completely natural. I get it trimmed once every 6 weeks. I work out 4-5 times a week. I eat healthy, no fast food, soda, candy, etc. But nothing is working and I'm so fed up. I used to have long, thick hair when I was even 7 or 8, and then when I hit age 10 my hair gradually got thinner and thinner. Now it's just a shame. My hair absolutely sucks. I can't do anything with it. I feel like crying every time I look in a mirror. It won't grow past my shoulder. I am seriously at a loss here. I don't know why its so thin and dry and poofy! My doctor said I could eventually result to a hair transplant. But I don't want just a few new hairs..I want thick, LONG hair. How much new hair do I even get from a transplant? I was considering extensions, but those cost a lot, and I heard that you need to go to a stylist every month and get them redone, and that it damages your hair a LOT. So there. I'm completely screwed over. I'm rubbing Emu Oil into my scalp once or twice a week now so get my hair growing, but nothing is working. I'm so fed up with all this. I can't try so hard just to get no results whatsoever. Does anyone know of any other options for me? Has anyone used something that drastically thickened their hair? I just want medium-long thick, messy hair. Not what I have now. It's unattractive as well as uneven on my head and it looks stupid. I don't want to go for "hairstyles that make your hair look thicker,' that's just a stupid illusion. I really want thick hair. Please help :(

It sounds like you could possibly have alopecia areata. A friend of mine growing up had this. She had bald spots on her head. There really is no way to get your hair to grow back. There are all kinds of hair treatments for hairloss, but none of them are sure thing to work. My friend keeps her hair really short, and has all kinds of wigs. Since she hasn't found a treatment that works for here, she decided that wigs were fine for her. She has fun with them, and she doesn't feel self-concious about her hair this way. I can't imagine what it feels like for you, especially at your age. I'm sure eventually they will find some sure fire treatments for thinning hair.

Every time I leave my computer for more than maybe 30 minutes, it goes into hypernation. I don't like that, but I don't know how to prevent it from doing it. Does anyone know how to fix the settings to get it to stop? (it's not like other computers, I've tried that) Please give me step by step directions if posisble. :)

thankyou in advance.

i have vista, this is what you do:
control panel > power options
there will be some plans you can pick from, and some extra options on the left. You can adjust display and sleep settings there.

My family has been telling me things about ghosts lately that relate to my house. No, they're not joking with me. And it's little things, not like they're TRYING to scare me (like my sister said she saw our door open and close on it's own once, while on level foundation). I believe in that sort of stuff. The problem is, ever since I was a kid, I've been VERY paranoid of that.

I'm a really creative person, and I can turn almost any situation into a very scary one, especially if I'm alone. It's usually really gruesome stuff, too. (Too many ghost shows as a kid, maybe? :P). For example, I'll just be sitting downstairs and imagine seeing a person walking down the steps (I'm not actually seeing things, just freaking myself out). Or like, imagining seeing someone be hanged. It sounds dumb, but stuff like that. I hate that I'm this paranoid, but I can really freak myself out.

What can I do to get over this? I used to use humor and writing to get it out, but it's not really working very well. Plus, this isn't my genre to write. I want to feel comfortable in my own houes. =/

16/F. Oh, and I believe in God if that helps at all?

Ghosts and god have nothing to do with eachother. Ghosts are spirits that don't know they are dead. They can not harm people, they are just confused. It's ok to be curious. Maybe instead of blocking the images, you should look into true stories and scientific evidence of ghosts. Try to understand what they are, and that they don't need to be feared. Sometimes understanding something changes things. Ghosts would not be scary to people if people had never made scary stories about them. In our advanced society, we have the ability to understand things better then they did a century ago.

I was wondering what the best exersices to do for your stomack example squats stuff like that.

There isn't one exercise. You have to do a combination of exercises to get the best effect. Crunches, modified crunches for the sides of your stomach, and leg lefts. There's many different exercises, some work better for a person then others.

I need to get rid of snow and ice and figure out a way to do it without salt because salt ruins the environment. What should I use?

They have environmentally friendly ice removers at the store, they just cost more money. One garden website recommended using salt water in a sprayer. You would use a lot less salt and be just as effective. Another website recommended natural clay cat litter. It won't melt the ice, but if you shovel as much as you can, the cat litter will prevent slips and falls.

im not fat and really dont NEED to lose weight, but i would like to maybe lose 3-5 pounds of excess fat even though i look good for the most part. i workout about 5 days a week including strength training and cardio. i dont have a whole lot of time to eat throughout the day because im pretty busy most of the time. i usually only eat about 1000 calories and then come around around 8 or 9 and usually eat about 200 calorie dinner and then i usually get cravinggss and indulge in chocolate about 300 calories worth. so total im eating about 1500 calories but wil this make me fat? indulging in choclate every night?? even though i dont eat a whole lot during the day?? or will i maintain weight or lose weight because i am working out?

it can in ways, because it isn't healthy calories. You are indulging because you arent getting enough calories during the day. breakfast and lunch should be your biggest meals. Bring healthy snacks to work that dont need refridgeration, like fruits or nuts. Fruit will get you natural sugar, but it's low in calories. Load up your diet with fruits and vegetable, whole grain breads and nuts, and lean meat and fish. Instead of counting calories, count your servings of carbs a day, keep it 1 serving of carbs a meal and eat as much fruit and vegetables as you want. The nutritional benefits are high, and the calories are low. If you are burning more calories then you are taking in, you will lose weight. Aim for the 1500 calories, but adding more fruits and veggies, will able you to take in more food for the same amount of calories. You will feel full longer, and some of the cravings should stop.
