Windows Vista

Question Posted Friday March 27 2009, 12:14 pm

Every time I leave my computer for more than maybe 30 minutes, it goes into hypernation. I don't like that, but I don't know how to prevent it from doing it. Does anyone know how to fix the settings to get it to stop? (it's not like other computers, I've tried that) Please give me step by step directions if posisble. :)

thankyou in advance.

i have vista, this is what you do:
control panel > power options
there will be some plans you can pick from, and some extra options on the left. You can adjust display and sleep settings there.

hey

either right click on the power icon in the bottom right corner of the screen and then click power options

or if you don't have this icon you can access the same thing through control panel and clicking on power options :)

on the left hand side of the power options window there should be a short list of options, click on the bottom one (which should be 'change when the computer sleeps')

this will open up a new window called 'edit plan settings' from here you can change the length of time that the computer is left on for.

hope this helps, if not get in touch and i'll help out another way :)
