Well...if you really like him and he treats you well - then what's the problem? You shouldn't let people get to you. If they do though, tell them "Hey - he's my boyfriend and I like him a lot so please show some respect" or something like that. Why would you break up with someone you like? Breaking up with someone just because others don't like him is not the best choice. Do what you want to do. Live your own life. Don't let others influence you. Because if they do - you aren't being true to yourself and you are wasting your life. Do what you believe to be true. Listen to others if they have legit reasons like they saw him cheating or something of that nature but if they just don't like you guys dating because he's weird or dorky TO THEM -it's not a good reason to break up with someone I believe you really like. I would just try and talk to him as a friend first. Start with small talk like pass the eraser or something and go to bigger subjects like what kind of music he likes. Get to know eachother. Tell him he looks good etc. After a while of talking and flirting with him, go for it. He won't be able to resist you - and if he does - he's not worth it. To get over your shyness, just try to breath and gather your courage, self-esteem and try and think What's the worst that can happen? Not much. So get to know him and go for it. Asking him out without really getting to know him, is setting you up disaster. Be friends and go from there. If you are good friends already, just get up your courage and go for it. That's a bit sketchy of him. I wouldn't jump to conclusions though. He might have been having a bad day. A lot of people cope when they are in a bad mood by pushing the people they care about away. If he hasn't shown any other signs of not wanting to be together, then I would start being more paranoid about it. But don't think that it's you and that you aren't a great person. You are an incredible person. But either way, I would call him or go over to his house or something and ask him about it. Talk it through with him, be willing to help him out and tell him how you felt hurt and disrespected and whatever you are feeling as well. Try and compromise. I hope everything is okay with you two. my name is Rachel and iam a 17 year old girl and my dad died when I was 12 and sometimes I still find myself upset about it and it makes my grades go down when iam really upset how can I get over my dad's death?

My mother died when I was 10. I'm 17 now. It's hard to deal with a death of a parent but I have to say that you will never get over your father's death and you may necessarily not want to. Whenever you feel sad, pray or talk to him. He can hear you. He's always there with you, helping you along the way. Just because he isn't here in the flesh, doesn't mean he isn't everywhere, being there for you. He's never left you since you were 12 and he never will. Talk to people about it, your family, your counselor, your friends etc. Visit his gravesite if that helps or hold something of his that you have. Sometimes just a good cry helps. You will always have times when you really miss your dad. I still do about my mom but remember the good times and remember that your dad would want you to succeed and do what you want to do and the best you can do in life. So whenever you don't feel like doing anything - think of your dad. Live for him. Do things for him when you can't do them for yourself, like when you are upset. Know that your dad is still there with you always and that he would want to you to dance instead of sitting in the corner. Know that he loves you, even now. He's never truly left. I would either break up with him or talk to him about it. If he isn't want you want and you don't like him on that boyfriend level, I wouldn't tease him. I would end in gently, explaining to him why you are breaking up with him. Unless you think your feelings haven't completely vanished and could be rekindled - then I would talk to him about it and try and come to a happy medium. This kind of thing sucks but don't hurt the boy more by staying with him just because you don't want to hurt him. It'll hurt him more if you stay with him when you really don't want to anymore. I have been with my boyfriend for nearly 3 months now. I know, its not a long time at all but he and I are already in love with eachother. We had this connection right off the bat and we just clicked and have been pretty much inseperable ever since then.

The only issue is he is 6 years older than I am. I'm still 16. So that makes him 22 (if you were too lazy to do the math). I'm sure by now you are all thinking that he's in it just for the sex, but really he's not after that. And I'm sure you are all going to say "Well you don't know that" but I do.

And I'm going to say he's not like your typical 22 year old at all, he is totally different. But I'm sure you will say "All girls say that", but trust me, I'm not them. I've "been" with older guys before and I can tell if they are fake or not. I've been around ones that wanted sex and told me that they weren't interested in it. So, I know that he's not in it just for the sex. If he wanted that, he could get it anywhere else, I'm not saying this just because he's my boyfriend - But he's freakin' hot. Trust me, he's got plenty of girls that would be willing to be lined up to get a chance with him.

I have sort of told my parents about him. But not the whole story. My mom knows that he is 22, but not that I am dating him nor that I am in love with him. And my dad knows that I am in love with him, but doesn't know that he is 22 or that I am dating him. I believe he suspects that I am, but doesn't know for a fact. **My parents have never met him***


I was talking to my dad and he said that he would be willing to meet him. He had shared a story with me about when he met my grandmother (my mom's mom) and she didn't like my dad because he's Puerto Rican and he only wanted to get in my mom's pants, take her money then divorce her. But my dad told her otherwise. My dad told me that if he can stick up for what he believes in, then he would have respect for him. And that's true, that is how my dad is but I'm still scared as to how he would react when he finds out he is 22. I know that he (my boyfriend) would tell my dad that he loves me and that his intensions are good, but my dad can be a hypocrite sometimes.


So I guess my question is, how do I tell my parents that he and I are dating?

Should I even tell them that we are or should I make my boyfriend ask my parents their permission to date me?

I don't want to end our relationship. Trust me, we have an amazing relationship. When I think about us, our age difference is the last thing on my mind. Love doesn't see age.

You guys are cute. I'll give you my advice but before I do that - just be aware that this can be sketchy and is illegal if caught. But from what I hear, this guy is a good guy and it's true - love doesn't see age. As years go by 6 years difference is nothing. Just be cautious. Okay, sorry about that little warning. Here's my advice: Have you and your man come to your house. Introduce him to your family. Tell your family your feelings for him and have him do the same about you. Tell them your dating but ask for their blessing. It sounds like if you are upfront and organized about this situation, your family will be accepting, from what I hear from you parent's dating experiences. But I believe you should definately tell your parents. If you love the guy, why wouldn't you? Your parents would be happy for you and if not, they will eventually if you and your man's love is true. All that matters is that you have eachother. But I would still try and tell your parents, let them know everything etc etc as I said before. Good luck! In PE, we're swimming. I was wearing a two piece bathing suit for the first time, and it was a bit embarassing. All the girls were staring at me and moving their eyes up and down my body. And I'm not just imagining it, either. What is this? Is this a bad thing?

Girls definately check out other girls - alot. It's normal for girls to do this. They want to see what they are up against. You probably have a really great body, especially if this is the first time you are wearing a two piece, it's new so the girls want to see how you look so that they can try and look as good as you because no matter what people say, appearances are a lot in this world. They are probably totally jealous of you. Just checking you out and seeing how you carry yourself and how you look etc. This can be really embarrassing but have confidence! They probably want to be you because they were looking at you so much and confidence makes you even hotter. If they didn't like what they saw, they would have stopped looking. I'm moving into a new room now and I absolutely love bulletin boards. Try putting cute little tacks on your pictures to glam it up. Maybe try those cute shaped scissors that cut different shapes to make your pictures look glitzy too. Umm sparkles and glitter are cute too. Also ribbons and flowers and stuff. Sequins also. Go to a craft store like Michael's and just look around and find cute little knick-nacks like that stuff to put on it like foam shapes or felt stuff hahah. or fabrics. Anything that screams YOU. okay well im really sick of not being popular. i have a couple of friends, but sometimes they just get sick of being with me. today in school we were reading reports to the class. the person who read their report got to choose another person to go next. NO ONE PICKED ME! my "friends" chose their other friends and then the nerds even got chosen before me. finally, this girl that no one likes picked me and everyone was laughing at me because i was the last one to read my report. i just want to be popular. now i DEFINITELY don't want to be the most popular girl in the school, but i just want some really nice friends who would take a bullet for me. i'm sick of going home every day crying, because no one ever talks to me or saves a seat for me. everyone has their own groups (clicks) and im not in any of them so im just the odd one out. even my best friends have a click and they won't let me in it. i just feel like i'm in the middle of everyone. and its not like im shy because i talk a lot and stuff, but i guess im still too boring for everyone. no one even trusts me with their secrets (including the 6 friends i have.) and i don't tell secrets and my friends know that but if they have a secret to tell eachother, they'll make me leave and then i can hear them laughing and stuff. and no one even tells me who's going out with who!! my closest friend had been dating a boy for 3 days and she didn't even tell me and i felt like a loser when everyone knew it and i was just finding out. i feel like im left out of everything, and alot of people pretend to like me and they'll hang out with me once in a while, but then they start their own clicks again and i can't get in any of them. And in AIM profiles when everyone lists their friends, I'm always close to last even if I know that person really well. I feel like I'm just not as "likeable" to people and they think everyone else is funnier and more fun than me. And I'm not mean to everyone and I'm never boring, but I just feel like I'm treated like a piece of crap. One second someone will want to hang out with me and the next second they're friends with someone else. So many people say I'm their "best friend" and I'm so "nice" but they don't want to hang out with me. I just don't get it. I don't know what to do. How can I be more "likeable" to people so people will want to hang out with me and be better friends with me? How can I make A LOT of friends? I've tried everything but I just can't get in to anyone's click. How can I do this? Please don't make me feel worse then I already do. I just want to die.

This is why growing up is hard. In school, people are so fickle and they take so many great things for granted. I'm so sorry that this happened to you. My advice is to either talk to your friends now about it and ask them what's up or find new friends. I know that sounds horrible but if these friends are being that rude to you -I wouldn't waste my breath. You are an incredible person and even if it doesn't seem like it now, in time, people will realize how dumb they have been and love you for you. Don't change. I definately think you should talk to them and be like "okay, so you say i'm great but then you ignore me. I don't get it" sort of thing. Keep being nice to them, if you are asked to go to a movie or something and you can go - go. Joke around with different people. Not just your friends now. Keep a smile on your face (no one can resist that, especially the boys ;) haha) But keep in mind, sometimes getting into a click backfires. Clicks are overrated. Just because they have "friends" doesn't mean they truly have friends, if you know what I mean. It's better to be with yourself than be with crappy people. Whenever I want to know what a song is about I go to www.songmeanings.net. It tells you the lyrics and people comment on what they think it means (which is usually dead on correct) and they tell us if they like the song or not etc. It's a really great site whenever you need lyrics or meanings to a song. So when I looked up "One Last Cry by Brian McKnight, I got the impression that he just broke up with his girlfriend and is thinking he is never going to be able to move on and he'll never be with anyone again to hurt him so he's going to have "one last cry" for the girl and for him. Everytime I want to know what lyrics the song has or what it's about I go to www.songmeanings.net. It's a great site for pretty much any song - people can put messages up telling you what they think the song means (usually they are dead on) and you guys can talk about how a certain song means to you. Sometimes it's helpful to just look at the lyrics in front of you as well. It's great! I love it. So anyways, when I looked up "Bossy" by Kelis - I think the song means that Kelis is saying she is bossy and everyone is jealous of her and she's pretty much the best thing that ever happened to anyone. Alright. Well, Im kinda freaking out here. I don't know what to do for my junior year. I have taken three years of science already: Earth Science, Biology, and Chemistry. I've passed them all with high 90's.

Problem is, i hate science. i dont have to take physics next year, and i could actually finish my requirements. But, some people are saying colleges only like it if you take 4 years. HELP.

I'm an upcoming senior and since I just finished my junior year, here's my advice: It all depends on what you want to do with your life and what college you want to go too. If you don't want anything to do with science, then don't take it unless you want too. Colleges look at ALL classes, especially at what you want to do with your life. That's the main things they look at. For example, if you want to be a religious philosopher (haha bare with me) you would study religion and philosophy and take classes related to that. Colleges will look at your possible majors and then look at your courses and see if you have gotten a good head start or not on that area of knowledge. Ahh. This is always a tough one. For guy number 1 - you've been friends forever. don't get friendly love confused with boyfriend love. there is a very thin and easy to cross but deadly to cross line there. if you truly do care about him in the way of you want to be intimate with him etc etc then ask him out or ask him if he likes you or flirt with him and see how it reacts and go from there. boy number 2 sounds like infatuation. you love how he looks and acts from the outside. you don't really know him. if you are really interested and decide to go for him - become friends first then go to a relationship. it's healthier. and last but not least guy number 3 is just getting out of a heavy relationship. he's going to be sensitive. give him time. leave him alone but be there for him if he needs you. if you really care, let him heal first. you don't want to be the rebound girl. so if you want my opinion, out of those 3 guys go for number 1. but make sure you really like him as a boyfriend kind of way and make sure he likes you back! you don't want to raise your hopes up too high. Start your paper by first talking about his biography and his achievements. Then talk about his beliefs in things. Then talk about how his beliefs and achievements influence his views on things, like when he thinks people become adults, by either personal experiences or whatever. Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knew of any numbing stuff you could buy at any store. I need it for my mouth. Please Help!!! I'm in a lot of pain!

Just a few days ago, I had a huge cold sore on my gum that formed into a gash. It hurt so bad. I used Orajel swabs. It completely numbs it - not to the point of drooling everywhere but to the point of great relief. It's fast working and it doesn't taste bad either! Within two swabs - my mouth was back to normal completely! You can buy Orajel at any drug store like CVS, RiteAid etc. You probably can even get it at Giant, Shoppers, Safeway or Kroger. I always forget where I end up putting my stuff so I always have to look to find where its at.. I misplaced my sissors, my brush, and now my water today! How can I get ti where I dont forget easily?

Maybe try and keep a list and tape it to your bedroom door or someplace where you'll know you'll see it. Whenever you put something somewhere. Write in on the list so that when you forget you can go back to the list and find out exactly where it is. Also, try saying "Okay..I'm putting my _____ here." Sometimes writing things out and saying things helps your mind to store information easier. Also, be REALLY REALLY organized and REALLY clean. It always helps if you are able to look around your room and RETRACE YOUR STEPS and find what you are looking for without digging through a whole bunch of stuff.
