just click another face, it'll replace your rating with the one you meant to click.

Q: ok now on advicnators y is like some of the words underlined and u can clik on them?

just the normal links. if you're seeing words within questions and columnist bios and stuff like that as links, that's not us, that's spyware on your computer that's infecting your system and hijacking your web browser.

Q: If I specifically direct my question to one columnist in particular and check the option that says after 7 days direct this question to everyone if not answered by this person....Does that particular columnist have an "option", if you will, of automatically rejecting the question and turning it over to everyone immediately, even if it hasn't been 7 days? Thank you in advance for your response. (I really do have a good reason for asking this question.) ;)

Yes, if they reject the question, it gets reposted to the site. If you don't check the box and they reject the question, it gets deleted.

Q: Hey everyone, Sporkster here. I logged on Advicenators today to discover that I've somehow been deranked. Not just from Level 2 Mod to Level 1: Now I'm not even a Level 1 Mod. What's up with that? I've answered 103 questions and I'm ranked as a 4.71.

You have to update your column every week or else we consider you AWOL and fill your spot. sorry. you'll get your level I status back in a day or two, but level II will depend on how many questions you're rating and whether we still need one. I still love you but we really depend on level IIs being around all the time to approve questions.

Q: Hey advice~gurl here, I have a tiny question to ask that I didn't want to ask the entire site. (they probly wouldn't even know) I don't have any stars next to my name on the view questions. I don't even have my average rating number on my column. Did something happen with my computer or is it a site bug? I'm still a mod so that I guess its not interfering with that. I did not make my own layout for my column I just chose one that was already there so thats not it iether. I don't really want to bug you but I just that it was a litle abnormal. If you find stars by name then I guess it was nothing and you can ignore this waste of a question.

Q: hi um im hot_tamalee_1218 and i really do love advicenators. but sense this is a suggestion thing this is my suggestion and please dont take this the wrong way. u "suspended" me from my advice colum for like 2 hours or something because i asked a question that i was wandering twice. i love music so was it really that bad just for me to ask why i couldnt have music on my colum anymore? because i used to have music on my it so i was curious as to why it all of a sudden disapeard. you guys could have sent out an email or posted saying that we couldnt have music then i would have taken it off. and this might sound corny but advicenators and like changed my life and mad it better just because i have like my own little place oh here. just mine. and for ya'll to "suspend" me has kinda made me frown on advicenators...i needed advice isnt that what your suppose to do? and once again please dont take this the wrong way im just really upset.

Don't take it personally, every day, we suspend many, many people. At least you were allowed to come back, others weren't so lucky.

Also... the issue with column music has been addressed several times in my column and it's on the help page under "your column", so it's not like you couldn't have found out the deal on your own.

Q: This is completely irrelevant to anything, but I was curious. Is it possible for a level 2 to suspend a level2? And if that happens, when they return, will they lose their level 2 capabilities.

it hasn't happened yet, but yes, a level II could suspend another level II. Whether or not they lost their permissions would depend on the reason for it.

Q: Can you delete the question that I asked to everyone?. The tile of my question is "Can't think of a subject"? That's the one that has to be deleted. People are saying rude things and I made a mistake of asking it. Thanks

We don't delete questions, it's not fair to the columnists who spend time answering them.

Q: is any other columnist's writing different?? I mean I go to 'ask a question' and the font is bigger than it used to be!! its different!! is anyone else's like that?

I'm tweaking the style sheets a little bit to make it more scalable. the fonts should be somewhat back to normal now.

Q: u know how if u click on COLUMN SETTINGS and then go to the thing that says Enter a name for your style: (you can always change this)... well what does that do?

That's so you can create your own column layout thingy. the first step is giving it a name, and when you hit the button, it creates the layout for you to edit later. you don't have to use the layout you create right away if you don't want to.

Q: I have some ?s i dont want ... How can i remove them once i answered them

click "edit answers" on the side there, and when you edit an answer, delete all the text. it won't show in your advice column after that.

Q: I'm using a template offered by the site, and I would LOVE if it would transfer what I write to my advice column - paragraphs included.

When I write long replies to people, it's hard to read my site clearly, as the paragraph breaks are not there.

Is there a way I can fix it, or perhaps a way the template designer can incorporate paragraph tags into the html?

Any help would be appreciated.

Q: blackmamba again... really sorry to bother you again about my stupid column, but i put the "content" tag in like you said, which worked so i could see my feedback, BUT it won't update the "questions answered", " visitors" and " times rated" is there another tag i forgot?

well yeah... the <--info--> tag would be one of them. see those lists of tags above the box where you enter you style info? all of those tags are fairly important if you want something updated when something changes.

Q: hey. um well i asked the question about my column being all blank, and i did what you said, and it worked. ok when i started adding backgrounds from this site and stuff my particka got screwed up. please check it out at -*-frecklymatty27-*- . for particka, it has everything jammed to the left. for your space, under my bio it has an answer to a question right their not even in the q space and the q isn't even their. the plain boxes, has my background on the whole page. like the color schene i chose in it isnt where the writing is, its on the background makeing it hard to read. the only think the truly seems to do what its supposed to is default, and that makes it boring. when and if you answer this, please email me at matt3605@yahoo.com please because i have some other problems that don't let me do a lot of things here. thanks

It's the chatterbox thing you've got in your bio. Having extra stuff like that has a way of screwing with layouts... in this case, there's a quote mark missing at the end of the img scr tag.

Q: Hi I don't want to bother you but I have a question.
I haven't been on the site for about a month because my computer has had like 200 viruses and I couldn't get rid of them with out completly wiping my computer. The point to this is i'm advice~gurl and I just noticed that I'm not a moderator anymore. I'm not asking to be one again if you think i'm a bad advice giver its what you think fine but is it because I haven't been answering questions or did you not like the answers I have been giving.
I just wanted to make sure it was something that I did. I think it because I haven't been her for a while but I wanted to make sure.

If I made you one again, the system maintenance would just take you back down when it ran. Answer some questions and get your rating back and you'll be a moderator very soon.

Q: I think that Advicenators should make it possible for a user to delete questions under "Your Questions". I know that columnists may have worked hard to answer these questions, but if you delete a question in your account, it does not have to affect the columns of the members who gave advice. This is kind of hard to explain, but i think you get the point. Can you make it possible to delete a question out of the "your Questions" category without deleting it from the column of whoever answered the question? Also could you make it possible to remove and question from your column but keep it under the "Your Questions" category of whoever asked the question? This would make things much easier for everyone.

I've had more comments about this lately. It'd be fairly easy to add an option just to not show certain questions when you click on the "Your Questions" link. Do you think that would do the trick? Are people's question lists just getting too crowded?

1) Do not ask me for life advice. We have several thousand other members that do that.

2) Do not ask for help, or ask how to do something, or ask about
how something on the site works, unless you've read every word of our help pages and you're sure it's not addressed there.

3) Do not ask me to ban someone or investigate abuse. We have an entire abuse system set up for that.

Some guidelines about suggestions:
If you offer a suggestion that I find interesting, I might just ignore your question so it stays in my inbox as a reminder of something to do. Don't be upset that I don't answer you, and don't delete your questions (because then I'll forget!)

If you have three suggestions, please ask three separate questions, that way I can address each one individually. It's a real pain when people ask one question with like twenty different topics in it; I can't keep them straight.
