Ever since i could remember my parents havent been exactly intimate i guess you could say. They have always seemed happy together and i always thought they would be together forever. Then a few days ago my mom told me that she was having problems with my dad and that they might get divorced. i was shocked and hurt. it killed me that i couldnt do anything about. and the worst part of it is i am the only one out of my family that knows how my mom feels. my dad and brother are clueless. i dont know how to handle this HUGE secret on my shoulders. how can i handle this horrible situation. please someone tell my what to do! or are you an only child?
Your paresnts are trying not to let you do what they did wrong. They want to protect you from all the creeps that they went out with.
Sit them down..tell them that they have been great paresnts and you are not going to date some creep they do not approve of.
Now..on your part..you have to earn their trust..so dont do anything that will make them feel uneasy about you.
every parent wants to meet the date...so let them meet him..could be after they do..that he might not be as awful as they think.

How old do you have to be to give up on finding a girl friend. The reason I ask is that im 24 ill be 25 next may and ive never had a girlfriend or been in a serious relationship, I Know im not ugly and I can send you a pic to prove it, and most of the time i can talk to girls just fine, but it always ends up the same for me, they always say that im a real nice guy and that one day ill find the right girl for me and then the dreaded "LETS JUST BE FRIENDS".
I just dont understand what im doing wrong. and when i think about it it makes me real mad, that
there's girls out there with boyfriends that beat them, abuse them both phisicaly and mentaly,
they cheat on them and treat them like crap, but when asked why the girl stays whith him the anwser is always "cause I love Him". Life is just so f*cked up, how can guys that treat their girl like shes lower than crap get so much love, but a guy like me that alwas treats women with respect and is always nice and honest and caring

you know..some people date later on in life..that is a fact.
But you will have a g/f//but you have to stop going after girls who have issues wiht BAd guys. Of course they do NOT want to date you..they want to date BAD guys.
So you ahve to cahnge to whom you are attracted to.
trust me..this is the same for girls....we all should be attracted to the ones that will treat us really good.
I would join some kind of organization that brings me inot contact with great girls. Or a church activity
Something or someplace that you will meet girls you are not so emotionally impaired.
You will date..it takes time...Or ask that some of your friends and family set you up..or even try that dating site on the net.
Do NOT give up...trust me..some girl is waiting for a guy like you....have faith!

My mom is a cancer survivor--breast cancer and skin cancer. recently, a friend of her's son was diagnost with a sever type of cancer. He has to go through kemo and stuff. We're going to do stuff for his family, but thats not my concern
my concern is with my mother. she's been really worried and depressed about him since she found out on saturday. everytime she starts to talk about my future or about happiness she starts to cry, and says how unfair it is for a child to have to deal with that. she tells me almost everyday she wouldn't care how many times she had to go through cancer so i wouldn't have to. she says that she wouldn't know what the hell she'd do if anything happened to me or my sister.
i'm worried about her. is that normal? is there something i can say to her to make her feel better?

Your mom..has had a brush wiht death.
To a parent..losing a child is the most horrific thing that can happen.
She is using all the fear that hse has been going through and putting it on that childs cancer.
Tell ehr you love her..tell her that SHe survived it..why not this child. Tell her that getting so upset..will only make her feel sick..
if she really wants to help...help the child and the family..give her something to do so that she is not siting around thinking of death. Haver her cook something..take the child somewhere..donate her time to the cancer society..antyhing..that is PROACTIVE..not reactive.

14/m my parents are always talkin about how bad life used to be for them. They keep telling me how they used to get beaten for everything they did wrong. I know i'm not perfect and i deserve punishment sometimes, but this is torture! I made it known that im not interested in hearing these depressing stories and its like they don't hear me because they keep telling the stories. and its not even like they change it up, cuz they don't. this is tough..if your parents had such a crummy life..they may never get a clue that well..they DO not have a crummy life now.
Put yourself in their shoes..right now..can YOU imagine getting BEATEN for anything...have you ever even been hit by a parent..let me tell you..it is REALLy bad.
Sit them down..tell them that you FEEL for them..that they had such a bad life..tell them you love them and appreciate them..but the stories are so awful..that You are getting upset just listening to them.
If they keep on...plug your ears and leave the room.
Just be glad that You are not being beaten.

my parents are always giving me compliments on how beautiful i am, blah blah blah. i hate it!! it annoys me so much, and i don't know how i'm supposed to respond. it doesn't bug me when my friends compliment me and stuff, but i absolutely hate it when my parents do it. i cant even fix my hair in the mirror without my parents looking at me and saying to eachother "look at my daughter, shes so pretty". i used to wear my hair up all the time and i used to wear glasses. my parents got me contacts, and i liked wearing them, but when i didn't they would get mad, especially my dad. they would be like "wheres your contacts, you're so pretty. and wear your hair down!" omg, so i stopped doing it because i hate getting compliments from them. i wear my hair down and contacts now because they stopped complimenting me about that, but still they compliment me. i cant even put on makeup in front of them because my mom would just stop and watch me. i hate it! what am i supposed to do? i feel like i cant even groom myself and try to make myself pretty now because of them saying something. i don't like it when they do it. what do i do? No offense but I bet a LOT of kids would love their parents to say hey you are awesome..but you do not..so.
Tell them it embarsses you and that it makes you feel uncomfortable. Sk them to please..in a nice way..stop.
Maybe they are just stunned that they produced such a fine human being..

I am 42,male, my brother is 50 married with one son.
My brother recently(9 months ago) won £4.5 million UK pounds on the lottery. Alright, I'm a 13 year old female, in the 8th grade. There's this guy I really like... he's smart, gets way good grades (like the only guy I've liked who gets better grades, haha) athletic, nice, popular. I could go on, but let me get to the point. I've liked him for about 2 months now, and I keep thinking he likes me. I've heard 2 people say he does. So a few days ago, lots of my friends found out, since we were playing truth or dare, and everyone was like "Aww, how sweet you like so-and-so." And most of them seemed to think that he likes me too, but I'm not really sure anymore. Today at school one of my friends who found out totally wanted to tell him I liked him, and then I saw her go over and talk to him... She said that she had asked if he liked me, and he said yes. I was like, in a sarcastic way, right? But she said no that he was serious. I find that hard to believe though. So then she said he should ask me out and he's like, why, so I can face rejection again? And my friend was all, well maybe. Ugh I was sorta mad cuz she pretty much made it obvious I like him. I'm just wondering what I should do.. should I tell him I like him or what?!! I'm just worried that if I do he won't like me back and then things will be weird between us. And if he does like me, and we decide to go out.. well that worries me a little bit too because I heard that he's sort of perverted, he just doesn't show it as much as other guys. shopping you shope even when you cannot afford it to the extent that you bankrupt yorself.
Anything to the extreme .that hurts you..is an addiction.
Now..the way to treat is is to find out..WHy you do it..usually it has to do wiht a family crisis or a b/f one.

if not he NEEDS to get on some. Lots of different levels of OCD...you would NOT beleieve how mnay adults have this.
So he has got to elivaiate the anxiety he feels every day.
It will take a while until you get the right combination..but it will get rid of some.
I would go on webmd and type in OCd and see what else you can find on it. Hopefully you have seen the doctor by now and he is on something
watch him carefully..every medicicne has different effects on different people..so if you feel he is getting wors on a medication..get him to the doctor and they will try somethng else...\
