something that is so important to you that you do it above anything else.

food it is the most imporatnt thing

drugs you cannot even think beyond your enxt fix

drinks..all you do is want to drink

sex..you must have it all the time

exercsie..you do it several times a day for long period

shopping you shope even when you cannot afford it to the extent that you bankrupt yorself.

Anything to the extreme .that hurts you..is an addiction.

Now..the way to treat is is to find out..WHy you do it..usually it has to do wiht a family crisis or a b/f one.

Need to talk to something professionally and get some hlelp

Depending on your residence, there are many options available to help those in need, as long as you want to help yourself.

If it's alcohol, AA meetings are probably held near where you live. If it is drugs, many places such as Mental Health & Addiction type hospitals take people in to help them better themselves mentally and provide a better lifestyle.

Addiction is a very serious problem, whether it's alcohol or drugs. It's harmful to you and to those around you. If you really are willing to seek help, check out some rehab centres that are friendly in your area or even further from your area. We can't all help the healing process alone. When it comes to addiction, those who use and abuse need help from more than just themselves.

if its something that isnt serious then you should just take one day at a time and get away from it.each day is anothe step away from your addtiction. and if its something harmful that ur parents dont know about then you should do the same just try to stay awaqy from it and if ur friends are doing it then spend time away from them untill u get better. if its something that is harmfull and is becoming a problem then maybe you should go see a schoo0l counceler and ask them if there is anything they can do to help you. if u cant seem to overcome your addiction after that then maybe you should sit down with your parents(even thought it will be very hard) and just tell them that you need their help. iits not gunna make them happy but it would make them feel better if you came to them for help instead of having them find out about it on their own. hope you can over come this and if u need more help im here!!

well it does depend on the type of addiction... so i could have helped u out more if u would have told me the addiction... but its all good... i respect that. ummm most addictions need professional help... its very unlikely 2 treat ur own addiction... so theres lots of help put there, thrapists, counslers, meetings... just look in the yellow/white pages or online in ur area. it depends where u live... but help is all over! u just have 2 find it! friends can be helpful 2 but probably not treatful just there 4 support. good luck! hope i helped! xOxO, aLeX
