It's not weird to be turned on by what you saw. My concern though is that this material is for adults 18+ and not teens or children to be seeing period. Porn isn't bad but it is for someone your age. It's also not an accurate representation of sex, sexuality, love etc.
Masturbation is normal unless it's all you do and think about. If you aren't doing sports, other activities or seeing friends and just this then it's not normal behavior. But for now, relax you're fine but stay away from porn and adult web sites.
There's valid reason they keep minors out and use software and all kinds of safety measures to keep you out. You aren't ready to see those images or experience anything depicted in them yet.
I can understand your curiosity about sex but it's better and much wiser spent on reading books, fact-sheets from school or talking to your parents, health instructor or doctor about than getting a distorted view on it from the Internet and videos.

I haven't read them so I can't answer the question about whether you can publish them. I can tell you being a journalist myself that you're doing all the right things.
If you want your writing noticed, evaluated and published approach the editor of your local paper (the town one not the daily) and ask if you can both job shadow reporters as well as write the odd piece. That's what I did many years ago. It helps you build up quite a portfolio and profile and they'll really teach you to write.
Also, you should take your stories and volunteer your time reading them to children at libraries, groups etc, daycare centers to get feedback. Also go to seniors centers and read what you have written to others.
Try turning your book idea into script form for a school play or community theatre production. Many groups have the members write some original material or skits even.
Right now it's not about money it's about getting experience and getting noticed in a positive way. Keep writing, taking courses, learning grammar and definitely try what I've told you.
You might also ask the school paper (if you have a student run paper) to allow you to write there and publish some. Show them to your teacher or principal and ask them what you can do with them and whether you have something here. They would have oodles of ideas, more than mine on how to use your talent and your work to one day land a job.

I just found out last week that I'm pregnant, and my boyfriend already signed up for the navy [active duty, if that helps] .. so he really has no choice there. What I'm wondering, is how much do they make and when do they get it? The thing is: after I give birth to the baby, he wants me to move wherever they have him stationed and live on the base with him. My family keeps trying to tell me that they really dont make that much, and that we'll be down there with no money to take care of the baby. There's a lot more uncertainty and instability joining him on a navel base while he is on active duty. You never know where he might be going and what could happen to him. Your parents are right it's not the place for a baby and for you to struggle to afford things or live decently.
Stay with your family at least while he's on active duty, secure a job and have the support financial and otherwise for him. I know you really want to be with him no matter what they say but THINK.
You know deep down where that baby should be and that you need support you can't get on a navel base with him gone. If he wants the best for you and his unborn kid even he'll admit you need to stay with your family for now at least.

ok so this is a very random and embarrassing question but here goes....so yesterday i was home alone and i was taking a shower. After i got out of the shower i went to my bedroom and masturbated naked. When i was done i went back to the bathroom and turned on the shower to rinse out the bathtub and while the shower head was on i heard a cough. It freaked me out so i turned off the shower and waited a bit and didn't hear anything then i heard my dog barking and my dad walked through the front door inside and went to the basement. The moral of the story is to be more careful about where and when you engage in that activity. Do it in a place that is private and can be locked. Be more discreet and avoid places you can be walked in on.
If he saw something he won't raise the issue. It would be too embarrassing for him especially if you are female and not male. Adults also know that a high percentage of teens males/females do this regularly. It's pretty much something parents assume and don't want to talk about. Just be more discreet in the future.
If you're a girl you can bet he won't bring it up for sure as it's harder with someone of the opposite sex. Even if he did bring it up he'd say it's okay but to be discreet to avoid further embarrassment.
Then again, maybe he didn't see anything or hear anything. Either way I would relax as it's a non issue with him.

Get an agent. They are the only ones with the proper contacts to get such an audition or any audition for a role. Consult the SAG and ACTRA if in Canada for a list of reputable agents and to avoid scams only hire someone from that list. Scan the list for people who deal only with kids/teens.
Also, if in a large city like New York, Toronto, Boston etc. you might want to consult their lists for a background talent agency. The agents there can get you close-ups and crowd scene shots as an extra in T.V. and movies shooting in the city.
Be sure to NEVER pay an agent for pictures, lessons, to put your info on the Internet etc. You only pay an agent 10% when you get a role through their efforts on your behalf. The other stuff is classic scams as casting directors, producers, directors NEVER consult the Internet to do any aspect of their jobs let alone casting you.
The only exception EVER to paying an agent is for ones who exclusively work with kids/teens and or extras. Extras and kids tend to bail once they see that this is work and often 18 hours a day for film as an extra. They and they alone can charge $80-100 as a retainer per year.
You don't need lessons, special photos, portfolio or any of that crap going in. RUN from anyone selling that or insisting that you need it because you DON'T and they're trying to rip you off for big money.
All you need is snap shots, desire and talent. Prior credits aren't necessary but having community theatre or regional theatre under you belt won't hurt chances in auditions. Remember only hire ACTRA or SAG approved reputable agents in your area and no one else to avoid being screwed over or put in dangerous or uncomfortable positions.

Since presidential voting is nearing I thought of a very good question I need answered about the presidential candidates. I know that John McCain is with Sarah Palin and Barack Obama is paired with Joe Biden. So, if Barach Obama becomes president, Joe Biden will assume position of vice president. If John McCain wins presidency then Sarah Palin will assume the position of vice president. My question really is though: how often does the vice president assume presidential responsibilities?
Of course, if the president actually died while in office or if he resigned the vice president would, obviously, become president. This apparently has happened three times since World War II, right?
I am thinking this: If Barack Obama died, would I really would Joe Biden to be president? And if John McCain died, would I seriously want Sarah Palin to become president? The election is in the beginning of November and I'm still undecided about who to vote for as president of the United States!
Anyway, I seem to remember George Bush Senior assuming presidential responsibility when Ronald Reagan was undergoing some sort of surgery. Is this right or did I misunderstand something? Maybe it was Dick Cheney and George W. Bush I'm thinking of, but I don't quite remember.

The ONLY power the Vice-president has is to be the tie breaker vote in the U.S. senate. Aside from that he/she advises the president but is not a member of the executive branch.

If you vote for him you vote for Palin to continue his legacy eventually as he won't be up for re-election. Also, McCain has had cancer multiple times and surgery on his salivary glands. That's why his face, neck and hair look different from other people. Take in to account a person's health.
He also is known for a hot temper and irrational decision making and voted 95% of the time in favor of Bush policies.
Vote for him and think do I really want Sarah Palin in this role at this time? She has to be ready at a moment's notice.
If voting for Obama you get Biden who is a honest man who is for blue collar people--and everyone. They want to lower taxes, tax the rich who make 100,000 and over and make it so you can get the best health care possible. They are liberal in their views but want to change the way governments work and chuck programs that don't.
Biden has been in senate for decades fighting for the little guy. In fact, his wife and child were killed getting a christmas tree one evening. He raised the other children by himself. He was elected to senate the day before and refused to take the job or be sworn in with his other child in hospital. They eventually coaxed him to do so at his child's bedside.
Now tell me isn't that someone worthy of a vote? I don't want to make the decision for you but do check out their official sites and go with gut instinct.
Also consider their stance on abortion and poverty and whether they or their kin have done anything wrong. Sarah Palin was investigated recently for abusing her power as gov. of Alaska to fire a man from a govt job who used to be romantically involved with her sister.
Many teens wind up pregnant but this is a little different. Bristol Palin, 15, is pregnant. Barack Obama used to have a drug problem decades ago but cleaned up his life and tried to become someone. You have to really consider their morals too.
Also go to www.cnn.com/election to read tons of non-biased pieces about the candidates and follow the link that says debates. You will get video and interactive transcripts there of the 3 debates and the 1 VP debate too. If that doesn't help you choose nothing can/will ;)

Please buy from a breeder not a pet store first of all. You'll know that the dog isn't from a puppy mill that way. Breeders won't give people ANY dog unless they feel the potential owner is a good person and the dog will have a good life.
If you go to a breeder you'll make it harder for people running puppy mills or getting dogs from them harder. If you are looking for a dog that will always stay slightly bigger than a puppy go with a pug or a pug crossed with a Shitzu or other small breed.
Pugs LOVE people, to be held, cuddled and be the focus of your attention. They don't bark a lot and when they do it isn't all that loud. They're easy to train and imprint on people fast. They're also very animated. Shitzus in general are a good buy as are shelties, miniature yorkies and scottish terriers.
My concern is that you said you couldn't bring a dog inside unless I read wrong. If you're leaving the dog outside in a dog house forget any small breed or a pug as they wouldn't bode well in that environment. They're short haired and Pugs especially can't do that with heat or cold.
If you can't bring a dog inside I would advise you not to buy one. Leaving them outside makes most breeds miserable and difficult to handle let alone trust or have a good bond with an owner.
Also, if buying a dog check the pound first to see if you can change an animal's life that has been ruined until now.

How often do you brush? Are you doing it the proper way that dentists have shown you? That really factors in. It's highly possible that you have gum recession (they do indeed sag) or disease as those two things are the leading culprits. They'll definitely cause that kind of soreness.
It's likely recession. It's common in adults over 40 and teens who seldom brush or do it incorrectly. It's pretty nasty as it means the tissue around your teeth has died or gone completely away. What happens is that this exposes the roots of your teeth and causes all kinds of abrasions and soreness.
Book an appointment with your dentist and explain to the receptionist what's happening and what you think it may be (gum recession). For now switch your toothpaste as you'll have to do it anyway to Sensodine.
That will cut down the amount of soreness. But yes, a dentist visit should be in your future soon. I know what I'm talking about as I experience the same issue.

If you have made up your mind and can't be convinced otherwise then why did you ask for advice? What you need to do is talk to your parents and book a consultation with a urologist to discuss pros and cons and complications before having the operation.
They know the downside and complications better than anyone here. It is much more difficult to circumcise an adult male I've read that much. Most people get it done because it hurts to retract their foreskin, it's too tight and or it has become quite cracked and painful.
They also do it because they think it's more attractive and or cleaner. Others do it because of religion or because it can reduce chances for certain infections/diseases. Also, because of smegma and build up of gunk people like to have the glans exposed rather than hidden inside the foreskin.
The downside is the incredible pain associated with the actual operation as it will be quite difficult to endure. You need to talk to a urologist about all your concerns as we're not doctors as only they will know if you are a prime or bad candidate for this at your age. It's common to circumcise infants and children but becomes more difficult for them with teens/adults.
Also you need to consider the cost. It's not cheap. In Canada I know some urologists charge $300 at least and that it's never done free in hospitals for infants anymore. You also have to ask yourself why do I want to do this?
Are you embarrassed about having a foreskin when others don't? Do you want to look like everyone else? What's driving your decision here? Ask yourself if it's right and make sure you get tons of info and facts.

Someone your age should not be watching pornographic movies. They are meant for adults only. They are not an accurate representation of what sex is like nor of healthy relationships. Quite often the performers are broken people, possibly molested in the past and have no education.
Not all but most. There is also drug addiction and though they test people STDs and even AIDS. There's nothing glamorous about it. If you really want to know about sex and sexuality find an age appropriate reference book and ask your parents or health teachers questions.

You're 14 and moving too fast. You aren't mentally nor physically ready for sex yet. What's the hurry anyways? It's got to be right and with the correct person. I can tell that you aren't ready based on all the fear, panic, doubt etc. you have about it. You'll know when you are ready because there will not be any doubts or lingering thoughts. You'll feel absolutely 100% certain it's time but right nope it is not.
If you can't talk to a doctor let alone anyone else about sex and birth control and being safe then you really aren't ready because you haven't prepared to protect yourself. A condom isn't fool proof as you must know by now. In the U.S. it's all illegal for anyone under 18 to have sex with anyone else.
When it comes to condoms there are sheep skin condoms for those with an intolerance to latex. They're often found at specialty condom stores etc. and not drugstores. You would have to be 18 to purchase them there.

It shows states not fully shaded red or blue that can swing either way. But if you go with what I suggested your marks may be higher as its on people's minds.

I know that Stacey has longed to be a journalist for a long time and had left acting to study in a program that had something to do with that, magazines and publishing. Both her and Lauren are very easy going and the best of friends still. I can say that having met Lauren and having spoken to Stacey before.

I live in an apartment and the family across from me love to party late at night. Almost every night they have a party with their friends. They have small children and the kids are left unattended in the hallway while the adults drink beer and various other forms of alcohol. The children run up and down the hallways, screaming and yelling, while the adults are inside drinking. Once in a while, someone comes and screams at the children to, "Quiet down!" but this only keeps them quiet for a few minutes. Sometimes the children even start to bang against my door--in the middle of the night!
Just for note, my mother works late nights so I am usually home with my little sister. I talked to my mother about this problem but she says she cannot do anything since she hasn't witnesses any of this yet.
All of this noise keeps me awake at night and it's difficult for me since I have school the next morning. I get little or no sleep, but I'm more concerned for my little sister actually. She has a sleep disorder and frequently has insomnia. She has enough trouble trying to get to sleep at night without all of this partying going on across the hall. Sometimes the partying will wake her up after an hour or so of sleep and then she'll be up all night long in a miserable state. The family isn't having a party right now and my little sister is finally sleeping, but they could start later (I'm hoping they won't have one at all) because they usually start later in the evening. In my city 10:00pm is the limit for any kind of noise that might disturb others. It's already 9:34pm now and they usually start around this time.
I'm not blaming the children, by the way. I know the noise is not really their fault, but it's their parents' fault for leaving them unattended. I just am not sure what to do! It was suggested that I call the police for noise disturbance and since the adults leave the YOUNG children unattended so often...should I?
How should I handle this?
Call the cops?
Confront the neighbors?
Tell the apartment manager?
Pretend it doesn't happen and hope it goes away? (link)

The best thing to do is talk to the super at your building with your mother present or listening in on the phone. Have them try to deal with the issue and deliver a stern warning. If the children are unattended and causing havoc than she may have grounds to do more than warn them.
You really have to catch them or their guest drinking or doing something illegal in a common area to get an eviction these days but if the super doesn't like them they'll keep close tabs or jack their rent to force them to move.

You're making too much out of this. I doubt she's mad at you or was even thinking about you. She might have been upset with her dog even or not even thinking of you. A look or even a stare can mean many different things unless you know the reason for it.
Next time you see her say "Hello Mr/Mrs so-and-so it's good to see you. Can I talk to you for a second? Yesterday, when I was here and you passed by with your dog I sensed you were upset with me. I just wanted to make sure you weren't.
Tell him/her that you are deathly afraid of dogs and that's why you react the way you do when she's near with hers. She'll understand.
The next thing I want you to do is pat the dog on its head and pet it if it comes to you while she has it on the leash. The dog will see from the owner that this is okay and won't bark but will smell you and perhaps lick you. Once this happens you'll never be fearful of dogs.
In fact the dogs you know are barking at you for two reasons. 1) It's scared of you and knows no other response unless the owner tells it it's okay and b) they're protecting the owner or property from people they don't know.
The dog senses you are fearful so he/she is reacting to the vibe it gets from you and responding with a bark or a growl that means "get away" as they're scared also.
Listen, I used to be scared of dogs because big snarly ones would bark at me on my newspaper route. Some were even off leash and approached me before the owner called them over and explained why the dog did what it did.
The only way I got over the fear was to buy a dog of my own. Said dog is now 10-years-old and we recently got another one who is almost 2. I urge you to get a dog from a breeder not a pet store or go to a shelter and start training it. Your fear will fade and turn into love.
Even if a dog passes by all snarly or comes up to you with/without the owner in immediate sight it will not bite you if you stand still, don't move and show it that it can bark, growl etc. but you're not scared.
Speak to it calmly and it will back down. Dog's don't bite unless they've got a reason and attacks are rare anyways. We're not talking pitbulls here as I wouldn't turn my back on that breed. They're the only dogs I know that are 100% unpredictable and can turn on someone. But like I said all other dogs are fine.

I've used the program HandBrake on my mac before, and had success ripping several movies, but I seem to be having trouble with my Treasure Planet movie. I love it and really want it to be on my iPod... but HandBrake won't do the ripping right! I tried once and it took much longer than usual to open the movie (like almost a full 24 hours), and when It finally finished ripping, I only had just under an hour of movie, and sometimes between scenes the movie would pause or the audio would cut out for a bit. I'm trying it again, but it seems to be taking longer than usual to open it again. What can I do? (link)

It's not the program used to burn the movie nor the equipment. My hunch is that this particular film has encryption that the studio put on the DVDs to make it so it can't be copied in full or in part let alone at all.
The major studios have made a habit of this lately because of the piracy issues. If everything else copies A1 from DVD to DVD with this program and your burner than that explains it. That's if I understand you fully and what you were doing.
I recommend you find Theymos on here as he is the expert on tech matters and ask him to follow up. He could tell you other reasons for the problem if there are any.

He hasn't told you what he finds pleasurable or given you any guidance. You need to remind him that you're a girl and he's a guy and that unless he tells you what he finds pleasurable nothing will change. Talk to him.
