States in 2008 election so I am doing a project on the election in school, I need to explain one crucial state in the election and a swing state. Any good idea for that?
I was thinking PA for the important state and indiana for the swing state, is that good?
thanks, Jamie

I would pick Florida for important state and Ohio for swing state. They both have a large number of electoral votes, and they're both somewhat divided in the polls (though Obama leads significantly in both). Ohio also has a notable history of being a swing state.
Indiana is fine, but I wouldn't pick PA, Obama is guaranteed their votes. If you want to pick a state that Obama will undoubtedly win, choose California, they have a massive 55 electoral votes. ]
Go with Virginia. Trust me on this one. It's notoriously Republican but is swinging Obama's way to the point he's favored to take it. Look on cnn.com/politics and click on the electoral map.
It shows states not fully shaded red or blue that can swing either way. But if you go with what I suggested your marks may be higher as its on people's minds. ]
