How do i get my hypercam to record in high quality?

In the "AVI File" tab, experiment with these settings:
-Increase frames per second. 30 is seamless. Change "Playback" to the same number.
-Decrease key frames every... It should not be less than the frames per second.
-Increase frame compression quality.
-If you have it installed, use the Xvid compressor.

If you are recording your entire screen, remember that your video playback software will need to scale down the video size.

Hey, how much would it hurt if I grabbed onto an
electric fence?

Also, would it shock us all if I grabbed it, and
like, 5 people linked arms with me?

Electric fences meant for animals are moderately painful. 5-10 times worse than a static shock. You will involuntarily move your hand away from the fence as soon as you are shocked. Your arm will be numb for a few minutes afterward.

You should not touch an electric fence used for security. It could kill you.

Electricity takes the shortest path out of your body. If you are not wearing shoes, the electricity will likely go out through the ground. If you are wearing shoes and not touching anything except another person, the electricity may pass to them. It will get weaker for every person and object it passes through.

Touching an electric fence meant for animals is usually not harmful, but if you have any kind of heart condition it could be dangerous. Consult a doctor.

ok so i had the old version of limewire, 4.16 or whatever it was. but all week it hasn't connected, it would only go up to one bar even though i could access websites and stuff fine. so i uninstalled it and installed the new limewire 5. i opened it right after it installed and connected easily, downloaded some songs, everything worked fine. well i turned my computer off and when i turned it back on and opened up limewire, a pop up came up saying i needed the latest java 6.0 to run limewire, go to www.java.com to download it, so i go to java, try to download it, and it gets almost finished but then a pop up comes up saying error: 25099. Can't unzip files or something like that. and now i dont know what to do. i've tried it several different times. no luck. i've read the help options on java. no luck. so now i can't open limewire at all. what do i do mow?

Uninstall all versions of Limewire and Java from add/remove programs. Restart. Install this:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301
Use it to remove all Java-related entries (if any). Restart. Install Java using this installer:
http://www.java.com/winoffline_installer/
Install Limewire.

someone once told me not to download limewire because it makes a open connecting and will easily let viruses into my computer,
but i want to download music and stuff.
so is this true? and if so any other good music downloading sites that won't give me a shiznit load of virus?

i'd love you feedback, :)

Limewire only shares files that you tell it to share. It doesn't let people see all of your files or install things onto your computer. However, since there is no moderation of Limewire, anyone can put any file on it with any name, including viruses. People are often tricked into opening viruses in this way.

If you're using an up-to-date media player, it's not possible to get a virus from playing an audio or video file. And if you're careful about which files you download, you won't be tricked into downloading a virus. Read my guide here:

Which is the best free e-mail server? I have verizon so, I could use verizon.net. I was also wondering if you could give me pros and con to each. Thanks a ton!
~Sky
ps. I am using Gmail, and was wondering if there was a better server out there.

I use Fastmail.fm paid email, but if I didn't use that I would use Gmail. It has a nice interface and spam filter, but it doesn't have all of the features I want.

GMX has a neat interface, but it's a bit slow:
http://mail-us.gmx.com/
Lycos is also ok:
http://mail.lycos.com

I wouldn't use Yahoo or Live because they put an advertisement in all of the email you send. It looks really unprofessional.

In Internet Explorer, go to Tools -> Internet options -> Security tab -> Custom level -> Reset to "medium" -> Reset -> ok everything -> restart IE. It should now work.

If it doesn't work, download and run this Flash uninstaller:
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player.exe
Restart Windows. Then try installing Flash again.

Why cant I install adobe flash player on my internet explorer 6 ?i also have a mozzila firefox browser on my computer and the flash player there works fine.
Thanks a lot!

Use this to completely uninstall Flash:
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player.exe
Close all of your browser windows before running it.

Then restart and install Flash again.

If that doesn't work, tell me what happens when you try to install Flash. Does it give you an error? Does flash content just not appear? Do you get a red X where there should be Flash content?

I am having a hard time downloading AIM 65.
I get! "cannot complete download error code is 2008."
Why is this happening? What can I do about it?

That is not the most recent version. Try downloading the most recent version (6.8) to see if that works.

If it doesn't, try downloading AIM 6.8 directly from here:
http://www.oldversion.com/download/aim6884.exe
Or AIM 6.5 here:

I tried the free trial of RipIt. It worked, but i cant get the video on my itunes library, which was the point of getting the ripper. is there any way i can do this?

I believe that Handbrake can convert the file that RipIt creates to MP4, which iTunes needs.

What is the best dvd ripper for the mac? where can i find a good one? are cheeper ones not as good as expensive ones?

HandBrake (free) can rip DVDs that don't have CSS encryption. All DVDs that you buy in a store are encrypted.
http://handbrake.fr/

This old version of Mac the Ripper is free, but will only work on DVDs that were manufactured more than a few years ago.
http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/14414

RipIt is $20, and it will work on all disks.

whenever i try to go to the facebook 'home' page a little box pops up and says 'windows is checking for a solution to the problem' then closes and another box opens saying 'a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windowds will close the program and notify you if a solution is avaliable' and the only option i have to click is 'close program'

and it closes, anyone know whats wrong or how to fix it?
please & thanks would really help.
(already scanned for viruses and did a computer cleaning.. )

It's probably one of the plugins you have installed. Install IE7 if you haven't already:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx
You know you already have IE7 if you have tabs.

That might fix it. If not, go to start, run (or press WinKey+R) and type this:
iexplore -extoff
That will run IE without plugins. If that fixes it, you know that a plugin is the problem. Go to Tools -> Add-ons -> Enable or disable add-ons. In the dropdown, select "add-ons that have been used by Internet explorer". Disable one add-on, restart IE, try Facebook; repeat until you find which one is causing the problem. Then leave that one disabled and enable everything else.

If that doesn't work, contact me.

any help appreciated.

At the Fedora "boot:" prompt, type:
linux text
and press enter. This will start the text-based installer. The text-based installer is as easy to use as the graphical installer.

When you do this you should make sure that you have some other operating system to fall back to. Your new Fedora installation might not work correctly, since the graphical install didn't work.

If the text-based installer also freezes, you probably won't be able to install Fedora without the help of an advanced Linux user. Try some other distributions, they might include the files that your laptop needs.

i haVE INSTALLED SIMS2 APARTMENT LIFE WHEN I WANTED TO PLAY IT APEARS A SMALL DISCK NEAR MZ CURSOUR AND APEARS SOMETHING AND IT SAYS ,,CONFLICT WITH EMUlATION SOFTWARE DETECTED,,

Uninstall DAEMON Tools, Alcohol 120%, PowerISO, etc. The DRM for Sims 2 detects that you have one of those programs installed and prevents you from installing.

Okay, so my computer crashed a few months ago and I had to purchase a new one. So I had to download the new version of iTunes with it.
The version I had before had the option of "Convert to MP3", so you could move the music files to other applications. But now, it only says "Create AAC version" which obviously doesn't help me because you can't move CD files.
The MP3s that I download from the internet are annoying because when I want to make a movie on Windows Movie Maker, the sound and video gets all screwed up so there's something wrong with the MP3s.

So basically, is there some kind of MP3 Encoder I can download that's free and won't harm my computer? And then will that fix the Windows Movie Maker issue?
Please please please don't answer this question if you don't know what you're talking about.

Thanks in advance =]

In iTunes, go to Edit -> Preferences. Click the "Import settings" button. Change the "Import using" dropdown to "MP3 Encoder". OK everything, and right click -> "convert to MP3" will work again.

If you don't want to use iTunes, Mediacoder will convert nearly any format to nearly any other format:
http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/

The MP3 problem will probably be fixed by installing K-Lite Codec pack Full:

Well i got a new laptop in december. and i decided to reset my computer, with the disk it brings. but when i did this it changed the way everything looked. it looked wider, and it didnt have the same display settings as before . How can i change it back into the way it looked before?

Right click an empty space on your desktop, select "personalize", click "display settings". Change "resolution" to a different value and click "apply". Keep trying until you get the resolution that you're used to.

Hey theymos it's me asknava. How are you doing? My mom asked me a question and I figured you were the guy. Right now we have a website with Godaddy.com, they are the hosts. She want's to know if there is another really good company that has an easy to use program, where she can get a year long deal for less than 100 dollars. They have a program that allows you to design your web site pages. So you don't have to know a lot about codes. Also if we switch companies, will we be able to transfer the info on our old site and will we be able to keep our domain name?
Thank you for the information. Peace.

You can keep the domain at GoDaddy or transfer it somewhere else. I recommend Namecheap:
http://www.namecheap.com
It's a few cents less per year than GoDaddy and they have more features.

For most people, paid hosting is overkill. 110MB is free, has no advertising, and includes a site builder.
http://www.110mb.com

Byethost is also free and ad-free, but it does not include a site builder. You could use a third-party site builder. Byethost has more advanced features than 110MB.
http://byethost.com

Here are some good paid hosting companies with a site builder and prices under $40/year, though I don't think a paid host is necessary:
http://www.geekstorage.com
http://www.hostmonster.com
http://www.inmotionhosting.com

You will be able to transfer the pages from your old site. Your new host's tech support will probably be willing to help you with it.

I want to convert my video file to an audio file how can i do this?

**Neither site contains any viruses. See these safety reports:
http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/mediacoder.sourceforge.net
http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/zamzar.com
http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/mediacoder.sourceforge.net

http://www.virustotal.com/analisis/bbce3168bd65e373d78c6d69d75789ec
**

Zamzar can do it:
http://zamzar.com/
Use "mp3" for step 2.

If the file is too big for Zamzar, Mediacoder can also do it:
http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/index.htm
-Add the file in Add->add file
-Change the Output folder to somewhere you'll remember
-In the video tab, UNcheck "Enable video"
-Click start
