im 14/f...and the hair that i have above my upper lip has gotten really dark and noticeable...its embarassing...my mom says not to shave it, im scared to get it waxed, it hurts when you pluck it, and well is there anything else?!

okay so my mom smokes and i hate it.. like all my clothes smell like smoke b/c our house always smells like it and my teachers look at me evilly b/c i smell like smoke but i cant do anything about it do you know any way to either get my mom to stop smoking or to like at least have my house not smell like it all the time?!

Spray perfume all over lol. I dont know get stop smoking pills or this thingys that look like bandages but are really stop smoking patches.

Ok, well, let me start off by saying i'm a 7th grade girl. Today at lunch this kid named derek passed me a note and said it was from my friend brian. I took one of my girl freinds, tara, to the bathrooom and read the note. It was really orny and soft....it read, "Roses are read, Violets are blue, sugar is sweet, and so are you......will you go out with me?". My friend tara started cracking up while i was numb and shocked from the note. I threw it in the trash and ignored brian the whole day. Now, me being quite popular (not rele popular, but popular as in knoing everyone in our grade and tlk to them and hang) and brian being shy and non-social. It's really weird and almost gross that he asked me out.....i rele don't know how to tell him that i don't want to go out with him at all so that he on't get embarrased and i won't get embarrased. Pleask tell me what i can write to him so he on't get hurt.

2day my family and i(14) found out that my older sister (27) has a tumour down there, and is supposed to be haveing surgery in a week. after that they will be putting her on keimotherapy(sp?) and well if none of those cure her, she will then only have 1 more year to live..im so scared of loosing her!

Oh My gosh! I cant really give you advice to make her live but my heart is with you. My moms worker Gina has breast cancer and is getting surgery. Not only is Gina my mom's worker but my bestfriend and hero so i dont know just thinking of losing gina makes me want to cry. So good luck. Just pray for her its the only thing you can do. Good luck to you and your sister.

my dad was recently laid off from work (he was the manager for the propane department of a co-op). he decided he wants to go back to the job he had before that, which was an EMT(emergency medical technician). the problem is that he left that job because he had a lot of depression problems when he couldn't save someone. should i still encourage him to go back to that job?

um hi. my ex-boyfriend and i broke up last year around june. he lied to me and stuff lik that, so i said dude i dont deserve this, and i walked away. but now that a new skool year has started, he keeps hanging around me and at dances he keeps telling his friends he wants to dance wit me. i dont know what to do because i really liked him and he rilly hurt me and i dont want to be hurt again. he says hes changed and hes sorry, but i still dont know. should i keep my distance? or should i try again?

I think you should tell him you like him but he really hurt you and ask him if you give him another chance to promise not to hurt you anymore. And if he hurts you again tell him it is over for good.

Is it possible to change certain characteristics that you don't like about yourself? Recently there have been things that I've done that I normally wouldn't do that have made me and my bf get into fights. They're little fights, and we always end up resolving them, but in the end I feel like a complete idiot for making such a big deal out of certain things. I want to change the way I react to things, and the way I think about certain things. Do you think that's possible?? Any suggestions?

You could go to a person that will help you talk about how you feel. Like a doctor that has a degree in personal feelings. It wont make you a freak i go to one because i have depression.

Can birth control give you really really bad mood swings? I started on Ortho tricyclen about three months ago (I'm 19), and recently I've been having really bad mood swings. Could birth control be causing that? Or could it just be outside stress? (which I do have a lot of right now) Any help will be appreciated...I'll rate a 5!

Hey i went and got some info from online and this is what i got: Changing pills may allow you all the benefits without the mood changes. It may take a couple of tries to find the pill that works best for you. Usually, a particular pill is tried for three months before making any changes. Good communication between you and your doctor is necessary.

I was always obsessed with a guy and I would always talk about him. And when my friends would talk about him, I would continue and say that i love him and all that. But he already has a girlfriend, so I dont wanna talk about him anymore. I wanna avoid talking about him when my friends are talking about him. It's really hard to change the subject when I don't know what else to talk about. So basically, all I need to know is how do I stop talking and thinking about a guy who I was obsessed with before?
