Does nicotine effect body development. I think I'm too short for my age and my doctor said that i should wait till I'm 20 before I start working out because it slows down your growth. I'm wondering if smoking also slows down my growth. Please respond with any imformation. Thank You!

Smoking does not stop the growth cycle, but it can hinder the progress. Here are the definites:

Smoking definitely is associated with weight loss, poor weight gain and excessive tiredness apart. Smoking also causes increased respiratory infections, ear infections and chronic cough. Smoking is also known to significantly increase the risk for heart attacks, high blood pressure and cancer of lungs/stomach/intestines/ and mouth. In females, it is also associated with early menopause, facial wrinkles and cancer of the cervix. Smoking during pregnancy can lead to small/ premature babies.


I'm not to sure about working out though but I can say that having a 6-pack isn't going to make you look good if your coughing up snotty-flem and have yellow teeth. Stop before you start.

OMG!! OMG!!! I am SSSSSOOOOOOO scared! I go to a very nice private school in the mountains with fountains, a good principal, etc. Well, whenever I walk alone to a class to another building, I always see this man with a beard and old clothes staring right at me about 8 feet away. Go to the principal/guidance counselor or teacher asap. Chances are he could be a homeless person or some old perv who has tooken a interest in you. You need to tell the right ppl asap just to be on the safe side. Also, carry around a keychain with pepper spray on it. I think every girl should have one.

My 50-something year-old boyfriend lives in a household with his 80+-year old mother and a brother, also in his 50's. Last year his 50+ year old sister moved in with her daughter (his niece) and the daughter's 3 year-old son. (The niece has four other children who reside elsewhere.)

Recently, the niece moved out to live with a man but did not take the child. Now the family is in an uproar, claiming they don't want to take care of the 3 year old left behind by his mom.

I don't plan to get personally involved because these are dysfunctional, toxic people with bad attitudes. He keeps asking me for advice on what to do with the child, and he's angry that the niece (who obviously has problems) has left them with her responsibility. He also doesn't want his sickly 80 year old mother involved in the day-to-day care of a 3 year old child.

I am worried about the long-term psychological effects on a child who's being rejected by both his mother, grandmother, his uncles, just because they are angry with the mother. What confusion that child must be feeling, with all the hostility around him and an absent mother (his father is in jail)! This is how criminals and serial killers are made...

I say the kid gets abused if they force the mother to take him, gets abused if he's forced into foster care by the state, gets abused if the family is forced to keep him when they don't want to.

Do I sit and watch this horror unfold, walk away from them all and/or secretly call the authorities? I just can't seem to turn my back on this child....

Good for you for wanting to help. Regardless of the family and the mother....The child did nothing wrong and deserves a family that can love her and treat her good. Maybe you could try to take her/him? If that's not something you want to consider I would DEFINATLY call child protective services. There are so many wonderful ppl that want kids and can't have them on there own and can give this child all the love and care she need's. Best of Luck.

You will be asked to lie on your back on the examination table with your buttocks at the edge of the table and your feet supported in stirrups. Your doctor will place a metal or plastic instrument called a speculum into your vagina to expand the walls so the cervix can be seen. (Insertion of the speculum may cause slight discomfort. You should let your doctor know if you are too uncomfortable.) Your doctor will then collect cells from around the opening of the cervix and its inner and outer surfaces using a cervical brush. The cells are then smeared onto a glass slide (hence the name Pap "smear") and preserved with a chemical solution to prevent them from drying and changing appearance.

After obtaining the Pap smear, your doctor will conduct a manual examination of your uterus. By placing the fingers of one hand on your abdomen and gently pushing the uterus up with two fingers placed within the vagina, your doctor will check for abnormalities.


All this may seem like a lot but it really don't take any more than 5-10 minutes. I met this guy at a party back in May. I knew him before but didn't really like him, but this party made me think he was a decent enough person. I wasn't attracted to him in a romantic sense though. ok i have a white 2 piece bathing suit and it has little colorful hearts on it.
Well I wash it reguarly but it isnt as white anymore and turning creamish yellowish... it
says i can bleach it with a non clorine bleach but im not sure i want to use it.(hard on the fabric. Is there any other kind of house hold substance that could make it look like new

Put your washer on hot water and add a scoop or two of Oxy clean. That should work wonders. (P.S. The label said you could use bleach so I really don't think it would hurt it)

Well, I have to shorten this a bit, as I could go on and on, but basically the story goes like this: One day, as I was sitting in my apartment, I began to hear some teenage girls talking about me throug the walls of the building. I found this strange, but stranger as I came to find they were discussing my thoughts. As time went on, I started hearing them in the shower, then at work and while doing other things. They told me they were psychics at first, and that I was psychic as well. I started hearing family and friends drop by every once in a while in my mind as well. It took me a while, but I finally realized the whole thing was a sham, and that I was being spoken to not by man, but by spirits. At that point, I addressed them as demonic, but having little faith in the idea (Christianity being abandoned due to a hypocritical upbringing), was NOT able to banish them in the name of the Lord. Their words are mostly torment, or "taunting" as they once put it, but at times they are nice, and joke around or have even encouraged me. The thing is, they are liars, and always have been, and they will NOT leave. I don't see any good here, I'm sure these spirits are unclean. Any advice? Looking for something unconventional, if possible. Thanks.

Sitting in your apartment and thinking that you hear people discussing your THOUGHTS, and not to mention you think you hear these voices that joke with you and then turn around are very mean, that is not normal. My first thought upon reading this was you have some kind of Psychiatric disorder such as Schizophrenia-Initial symptoms may include delusions and hallucinations. I would make a appointment with Mental Health asap.

I have two former friends who (in my opinion) seriously abuse their cat. "Tammy" will grab the cat by the back legs and spin it around, set it on the floor and flip it in circles, chase it around the house, pull it by its tail when it tries to get away, etc. She's 21, so she's not a kid at all. With her boyfriend, they will put the cat in a pillowcase a breathe lungfulls of marijuana smoke in on it. When they have parties, they will "pass the cat." Everyone in at the party will take the joint and the bagged cat, and on every exhale breathe their smoke into the cat's bag. This will go on for an hour or two before they free the cat. This is just what they do in front of other people.

I can only see where I have there options here, each with problems.
1) Call the police.
2) Break into their house and steal the cat.
3) Do nothing.

I don't want to call the police, because I smoke weed and so do a lot of my friends. Used to, if you got caught in my town you just went to jail. Now you reduce your sentence with every fellow pot head you turn in, all the way up to having no arrest record if you turn in enough people.

I don't want to break in just because...well...it's wrong, I guess. And I really want to do something to help the cat. I've already tried talking to them about it, and it doesn't help.

Best shine tip in the world that won't cost you a cent. Go ahead, take your hot showers, when you get ready to get out, turn the water on to cold-as cold as you can take and run your hair through it. Blowdry and style as usual. I guarantee you'll notice a big difference.

Hey..sorry its soo long i hope you can help im the one usually giving advice if you ever need some ask me!
I hav been going out for this guy let's call him Josh for almost 10 months. We hav an amazing relationship and he really is my best friend. We have one problem his ex girlfriend is insane. She is obssesed with him and there is a long story behind that but just to make it short she is jealous and she wants him and her and I got into a big thing. This is 2 weeks ago: Saturday night we got into a fight because his ex's friends were starting stuff with my friends. I told him that i didn't know if i cood take i anymore. We weren't on the best page. Since it is summer we don't see eachother that much he went to camp before these 2 weeks and now he's on vacation. SO back to Saturday so that happened then on Sunday we talked and he was mad and upset. On monday we were planning to see eachother on tuesday but my friends messed it up. Also on monday we had a long talk about his ex and hwo i feel like he doesn't stand up for me like he should. When our plans got ruined for tuesday i was upset but it seemed like he didn't even care. On tuesday he called me at night and we didn't talk much but i asked him what he did today and he said nothing and that he's been thinkin about alot. I got a little worried.
