Hey there. I'm a girl, 14, and on the fat side.. lol. I'm not obese, but i am overweight (working on itt!!) And i've only ever had one boyfriend.. when i was in grade 6. People tell me i have a pretty face, but i think i'm just average. I'm also told i'm really sweet, and have an awesome personality.. but it just seems like guys don't look past my weight to get to know me and like me better. I have a lot of guy friends, but no boyfriends, you know? I get in a rut for soo long about not ever being in a relationship, and seeing all my friends with their boyfriends.. SO my question is mostly for the guys.. have you ever dated a fat girl? lol that sounds so rude, but it's the only way i can put it. And what is it that totally unattracts you to them? Why don't you take the time to look past their looks to see their true beauty. please helppp.
I'm not a guy, but I do have something to say. One of my good friends lost 45 lbs over the summer. She came back to school and all the guys liked her. Although her new body may have played a role, she was sooo much more confident and she felt better about herself. Guys are attracted to that. You may have a great personality, but guys don't see that until they get to know you better. So what if you don't have the perfect body? Be confident! Be really outgoing! Let everyone see that personality right when they first meet you! That way they can judge u on personality! alot of times if ur shy and dont really talk, guys dont think twice the're just like "oh i guess she's shy."
Oh- p.s. there was this guy who liked my friend before she lost weight (lets call him bob.) now when the guys all wanted her she turned them all down bc they only liked her 4 her looks but she knew that bob liked her the whole time so she went out w. bob. remember--- those guys who judge u on looks r'nt nice guys ne ways!
Hello!! Hi i normally give out advice but i need some! bad! Well i have a really bad habit and its biting my nails. It sounds normal but the habit's so bad that when i quit smoking it was easier(!). Now when i bite my nails i bit it down so its just a couple millimerers!! (ouchhiee) Also, when half of my nail is gone a chew and pull my skin around my nail, to like the second layer of skin!and it burns when im peeling it like downward but it..iono its painful but its a habit. i dont realy cut as much as i chew my nails! its turning into something way worse! does anyone have ne ideas how i can stop! il rate u a five..:) help me plz!
chewing your nails could actually be a result of smoking. you just need something to do. playing with a stress ball or chewing gum could definately help. or, dip your fingers in something that tastes bad- like vinegar that way u won't want to taste it! Or get a manicure or tips/ fake nails. This will be good bc you wont want to mess something up that costs so much $$ and they'll look beter! Another thing u can do (if u bite them at nite) is sleep w. gloves on. (this may sound kinda extreme but it can serve 2 purposes. not only does it keep u from biting, but if you slather on lotion and put gloves on b4 goign to bed, it makes your hands SOOOO soft!)

14 f, i'm in high school and i'm not that happy. sometimes i think its really fun but sometimes i just feel like crying. people say high school is supposed to be the funnest part of you life.... please help
First of all, it's freshman year baby! You've got alot of it left! I HATED freshman year but now I'm a junior and I love high school! High school sucks and you hate the situations that you're in but looking back, it's fun! just go out there and do something fun and stupid! Grab some friends and go streaking, tp a house, hrow a party, hook up with a random guy, flirt with guys you dont know at the mall, cuss someone out who you dont know, ect. Just do something! It's a blast just put ur self out there!

Guys don't hate redheads! There's this girl at my school who's a redhead with a couple blonde highlights and all of the guys drool over her. My best guy friend always says she has the best body. They like her butt.
Hey, theres this girl in my pe class and I think she might like me. Well, I kinda like her too though. She acts kinda like it and gives me hugs sometimes and stuff and jokes around with me and stuff, and she seems like she always brings the topic of Homecomming up to her friend, lets call her Jenny. Anyways so she always says to Jenny that sits next to her when we sit on numbers for role call that she needs a date for Homecomming. But... I'm kinda scared to ask her to Homecomming because I don't know what to do.. I mean I know you go out to dinner and stuff and the guy drives the girl... but I don't have a car yet do I have my dad or mom drive us to the restaurant and then to the dance? I know to get her flowers or a corsage... ugh I don't know what to do! Someone tell me what to do about this and what should I get her and pretty much walk me thru the date! I mean like I could go with my friends or her friends because she says to her friend that all her friends are going to this fancy restauraunt with their dates and she wont get to go unless she has a date... so who drives and stuff? What do I do.... Help, I'm 14/m.

Well, fist of all, the girl tottally wants you to ask her. It's obvious! She keeps constantly bringing it up! You just need to go for it! Ask her out to the dance. As for the transportation, talk to her about it and ask other ppl who can't drive and see what they're doing. You can never go wrong doing what your friends are doing, and as long as your date agrees with how you should get there- you'll be fine! I think that it would be a good idea to go out to dinner with her friends. This shows her that you geniuinely like her and want to make her happy. Really talk to her friends tho (and their dates!) and get to know them. She'll think that ur totally awesome for bringing up convo's at dinner and she'll see that you're a good guy. Oh and you MUST pay for her dinner!!! If she says no, insist on paying and make sure u bring enough cash to cover both meals and some extra cash just in case. At the dance, ask her to dance alot and don't dance w. anyone else unless there's a good reason for you to! (example- her best guy friend asks if he can dance w. ur girl and u being the polite guy you are say sure, may i steal a date w. yours)As for the rest of the dance, go with the flow. Give her the corsage when everyone else does it. If you ever get nervous and don't know what to do, just look at what other ppl are doing. As for the girlfriend thing, wait until the end or atleast the middle of the night. If you still feel that you like her, ask her out. Maybe on a slow song while yall are dancing. Then that could be "your song." (girls eat that stuff up!)

My friend katie and lisa and this other girl carly, were waiting after practice for their rides and carly had Katies cell phone and she threw it on lisa to get her to pay attention. Since Lisa wasn't paying attention, she didn't catch it, so it bounced off her stomach and hit the ground and it kinda broke, some pieces came off and the front is all messed up. Carly acted liek it was nothing, and didn't really apologize. My questions are:
1. Do you think Carly should pay a small price to get it fixed or for consulation? Or have her apologize.
2. If so, how should katie approach her and ask for either money or an apology?

Yes Carly should have to pay! If it we're for her it wouldn't have happened. She should have offered in the firstplace. But since she didn't, Katie should just go up to her and be like "Hey my cellphone is broken now and I really need it fixed can you pay for a new one for me?" Hopefully, she'll be cool and say yes. If she doesn't my next bet is that she'll blame it on Lisa. Either way, if she doesn't own up to it push it aside. A cell phone doesn't need to cause a fight between you and ur firend.

Ok, technically, this SHOULD be under some sort of Technology thing, but they didnt have a sub-category for it.
Ok, the last couple days, someone will leave me a voice mail, but I can't access it, because when I dial my voice mail I get a busy signal and the screen says "Call Failed: Network Busy"
Last night at almost midnight I was able to finally get through after shutting my phone off then on again. Today, however I have no such luck.
Any suggestions?
Go ask the person who gives you service (ex: Tmobile, ATT, Sprint) they can answer ur questoin. This once happened to me, it was bc i didn't pay my bill. As soon as I paid it it was no problemo!

im 13 yrs old and a gurl i want to know a good FUNNY halloween costume i know its early but i want an original cool costume. but i dont wwant it to cost too much whats to best costume you've ever seen?
1. Go as a CEREAL KILLER. Grab a moving box, paint it to look like ur fave cereral, and stab a knife in it. Instant funny.
2.Go with a guy- he can be Napeoplean Dynomite and you can be the girl w. the side pony tail.
3.Dress as a track star. Paint on your jersey your joggin knickname- "The Runs" of course!
I know they're lame but sometimes thats the best kind!

ok my homecoming is october 30th. i have a few questions. can anyone tell me a really good selftannig product because its told cold here to go tanning naturally and my mom wont let me go to a tanning bed. so that is my 1st question. my second one is can anyone give me a specific site for hairstyles for homecoming. and my 3rd and last question is what kind of dress should i get what colro and were (things like that for the dress) thank you guys so much! and i rate if it helps!
OK, first of all, tanning. The best self tanner I've found is Neutrogena Build-a-tan. I like it because it is gradual, you do it in layers so that you're not all the sudden dark. It's also cheap ($10). Make sure to exfoliate your skin and follow all directions prior to application! Also, have someone help you bc it'll be hard to reach your back!
As for hair, i'd reccomend havign it doen or just curling it in ringlets and leaving it down. Maybe with a fun flower clip!
Dress- I'd reccomend Windsor. They have every kind of dress in every color! Black is alway tres chic and will last you longer bc you can also wear it again (It's not as memorable as a neon orange one for example) Check with your friends to see how formal they are going- are they wearing sun dresses or floor-length ball gowns? if you're not sure how formal you should go, it would be better to be OVERDRESSED than UNDERDRESSED!

Ok, well the way that everyone does their hair at my school is by curling it in ringletts and leaving it down. It looks really cute. As for make up, go to a beauty counter in a department store a couple hours before the dance. Go to a counter like Clinique if you want something natural or MAC if you want something a little more upbeat. Describe to them your dress and they'll do something that compliments you AND ur dress, and you get a pro to do ur makeup for free!!!! What's not to love?

Okay, well idk where you live, but hoemcoming is kinda a reigonal thing and it's different in different places. I'm from texas. We do the whole mum/boutonerre thing for the game and dress up really formal for the dance. Check out my advice collum i just answered a question on the top 5 ways to have fun at homecoming. how can i make homecoming extra fun?
Some tried and true pointers on having fun on homecoming, from the mouth of Homecoming Princess 3 years running, ME! :-D (wow, that sound really rude, sorry!)
anyways....
1. Limo. Get a Limo that seats a lot of people and divide up the cost. That way it'll be like $25 a person. It's kinda pricey, but trust me, it's so fun, and way better than riding with mom. (unless you can drive!) Plus, it'll be a blast because with like 16 people and free coke, it gets CRAZY!
2. Dinner. Go out for dinner before the dance. Go with a big group (Note the common theme-group! the more people, the crazier it gets, the more fun you'll have, I SWEAR!) Pick a fun restaraunt, like Magic Time Machine or Buca DeBeppo. (idk if you have them, but the point is go to one with a laid back atmosphere taht's about having fun like a themed restaraunt.) It'll be fun and you can get som grub!
3.Emergency kit. Keep an emergency kit in your purse. Including: a toohbrush for after dinner (or BRUSH UPS!) mints or gum bc u dont want to slow dance w someone who has stinky breath! Makeup to touch up yor face, cell phone, money, tampon/pad, advil, and a camera. (see #4) this kit will prevent a huge catastrophy and prevent you from having to worry about anything else.
4.Pictures. Make sure you bring a camera along! Take pix infront of the limo, w ur date, w all ur friends and their dates, eating dinner, and dancing! These will help you preserve the memories- and you can send them into your yearbook!
5.DANCE! I cannot stress to you that you must dance! Some people are too embarrassed or self concious to dance (example, me freshman year) but i promise you, as soon as i started dancing i had so much more fun! It doesnt matter what you look like! Just go for it! Chances are everyone's busy worrying how they look anyways!
hi im 13 and this may sound really dumb, but there is this girl i really like. she calls me alot. i like that. she is attractive, not by that much but still i like the whole thing, only one problem.......my friends hate her, she is a year older than i but she is new (so she doesnt really know anyone else) i get embarrased wen she calls around my friends and make up lies to them about how i feel. help.
You shouldn't ever do something just bc your friends think a certain way. Although, this can be really hard. If you really like this girl and you want to persue something, go for it! Ask your friends to try to understand. Maybe if they hang out with her her they'll see taht she really is cool. If not, then I would question my friendship with them. A friend's gotta be more understanding than that!
I'm searching for a good birth control method to use. I have taken Ortho Tri-Cyclen, and Depro Vera before, and would not be incredubly unwilling to try them again. The problem is that I have a very hard time remembering the pill each day, and I have heard bad things about the shot. Such as: weight gain, increase in discharge... and I find it hard to believe that it is healthy to go through your life without having your period.
I know that this should be a question for my gynocologist, but I could not get an appointment for another month or so. I was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers on a good method of birth control. Perhaps some good and bad experiences you have had?

Well there is the new birth control patch which will help you not forget, but that comes with the downside taht you can see it! It doesn't really matter if you do find an alternative method before your appt. tho. You'll need a perscription anyways.

I have this friendin 6 th grade and a sister in 8th, my friend likes my sis. He said that she was hot( no lie). He said it right in my face...i told him i felt like barfing and i dont want him to get 2 close to my sis. Am i being 2 defensive about my sis?
NO! It's totally reasonable. But I'd suggest talking to your sister about it. I'll bet your sister wouldn't ever dream of touching that kid- and if so, you're lucky. Then you can back off and let those two work it out without having to tell either of them what to do. If your sis says she might be interested in the guy- tell her you wouldn't feel comfortable with her going out with one of your friends. Hopefully she'll be cool and go for a guy her own age.

Friends ALWAYS come before boys!!! Chances are that the boy and you would break up within a year- but your friend will still be mad after taht. So talk to your friend about it. Hopefully she'll understand and you can both make a truce to like some one new- this time some one DIFFERENT from her!

Don't base your descision based merely on who's feelings you'll hurt more, it will only hurt you in the end. Pick the guy you genuinely like- and if that's not either of them just say, "Look, you're a really great guy and you seem cool- but I don't feel like I kow you enough. Let's get to know each other better before we commit 100% to each other."

You should do what you want to do. You got screwed over in the first place by dumping someone because of your dad. THIS IS ABOUT YOU DATING THE BOY, NOT YOUR DAD DATING THE BOY! LOL! you need to make ur own descisions and stop worrying about what other people think!
how do u grow ur hair out fast?
There is no way to healthily make it grow. however I do know a trick to make it look longer when you wear it in a ponytail!
1.Pull up half of your hair in a high pony tail. Secure with hairband.
2.Pull up the other half of your hair in a pony tail directly under the first one. secure with hair band.
3.put a band aroun them both.
VIOLA! Longer pony tail Instantly! You may want to use "skinny" bands on one, two, or all of them because all the bands tend to get bulky.
