Ok I need some advice. I really want to shave my hair "down there" because it bothers me to wear bikinis and stuff. I don't think my mom wants me to but I know she wont get mad if I do. I just need to know if it grows back fast ( how long) and is it painful to shave. I don't want to shave it off then regret doing it. Do alot of people shave there? Please help. Thanks

When you shave, shave in the direction the hair grows or you'll get horrible razor burn. Also, I recommend leaving hair conditioner down there when you're done. It prevents ingrowns. There are other options besides shaving such as waxing[it's not too painful] and expensive laser hair removal surgey. [ Emaho's advice column | Ask Emaho A Question ]

It usually starts to grow back around 1-3 days.
Shave with your hair growth. Though doing it this way may take a bit longer it's better for you. If you want to shave in the opposite direction of your hair, (it's quicker) then be prepared for little bumps. These are infected/ingrown hairs. -When you shave against it, you are pushing the hair back into the follicle, therefore causing the infected/ingrown hairs. AmandasAdvice answered Monday August 7 2006, 5:33 pm: hey it's not really necessary to shave the whole area; [why would you want to look like an undeveloped child??] just the parts that show when you wear a bikini. so put a little conditioner on [this prevents razorburn a little better than shaving cream. razorburn is NOT fun!!!] and then shave the opposite way your hair grows. it doesn't hurt once you get used to it, but i remember the first time i shaved there it hurt for a couple days but then it was fine the second, third, etc. time i did it. disposable razors work good for this [rather than electric!!] by the wayy!!! hope i could help & good luck. if you need anything else just drop one in my inbox!! ;]
OiShmoi answered Monday August 7 2006, 5:19 pm: The first few times you shave, it's a little uncomfortable when the hair starts growing back.
But you get used to it after the first couple times.
Oh, and let the hair grow out a bit before you shave it again, otherwise you can get razorburn, which isn't very fun. Another thing you can do instead of shaving the whole area, is just shave where your swimsuit doesn't cover. Good luck. [ OiShmoi's advice column | Ask OiShmoi A Question ]
xostarbrightbaby answered Monday August 7 2006, 2:41 pm: It will grow back after 2-3 days and it shouldn`t be painful if you don`t cut yourself. Just use conditioner or shaving cream and shave the opposite way your hair grows in. Alot of people shave down there these days and your mom shouldn`t get mad because it`s your body and you want to feel comfortable with it. If you don`t want to shave you could always trim it with sissors. Hope this helps. ♥ [ xostarbrightbaby's advice column | Ask xostarbrightbaby A Question ]
