about

While I am still young, I have had a great deal of life experience. It is from this that I give advice. I am open minded and try not to be judgemental. If I can help in any way, I will. Just ask. However, like everyone else in this world, I am not perfect. My advice may not always suit you, since my experiences are not the same as yours. If you want clarification on any answers I give, feel free to ask me. If you don't like what I said, or if I offended you, let me know. This is the best way for me to improve on my responses.

A while back, I had seriously burned, dead, split ends from straightening my hair so much for parties and stuff. My mom decided to get my hair cut to 3 or 4 inches shorter, which devastated me when I saw how short it was. That was about one month ago, and I thought by the end of the summer my hair would be longer because I've only straightened it once since then. I want my hair to be medium-long. But my hair barely grew. It's longer, but still way too short for me. What can I do to make my hair grow faster and longer?

On average, hair grows 1/2" per month. There are some things that supposedly help your hair to grow faster or healthier. One I personally like is to use paprika or ground red pepper with your shampoo. I don't know if it makes your hair grow faster, but my hair tends to look nicer. It stimulates the scalp, which is healthy for your hair. Also, if you have even somewhat curly hair (which is more porous than stick straight hair), which I'm guessing you do if you have been straightening it, use shampoo as little as possible. You can wash your hair with just conditioner and it will cause less damage and get your hair just as clean (for more info on this, get the book Curly Girl. Most libraries have it). In the meantime, there are some great styles out there for shorter hair and you will be glad, in the long run, that you had it cut. It will be so much healthier without the damage to the ends. That means it will be stronger, shinier, and generally prettier.
Good luck!

ok this is a wierd question but ok well when you give a guy a hj well or head do you have to make him hard first or what do you do idk ive had sex but have never done oral im confused

Well, no. He doesn't need to be hard to start either. In fact, both are good for getting a guy hard. For actual intercourse, that is needed. Like the other person said, just starting a hj or bj will typically get a guy hard.

At age 28 your mature enough to answer this if you wish to do so. I relates to the statement you made inquiring mens thoughts on women "swallowing".

Personally I find it exciting to look down as I cum and watch a woman swallow. Perhaps it a "power or control" issue.

What I want to know is does letting a man use your mouth cause any feelings of shame at all somewhere deep in your mind?

Sorry it took a while to answer your question. Flu hit my home :(
Anyway . . .
Thank you for your answer to my question. I can certainly understand the power/control thing.
As for feeling shame, I really don't, but I am sure some women do. The reason I don't is pretty simple. I know I am good at what I am doing and I get very turned on seeing the pleasure I am evoking. And there is also a bit of the power and control in there as well. Sure, it seems like the man is in control in that situation, but a woman who knows what she is doing has all the real power. It is a very vulnerable spot for a man to be in, when you think about it. You are letting a woman put her teeth in a very sensitive area. Best not to upset her at that time. So, feeling the power of being able to cause pleasure or pain so easily is pretty arousing. Well, for me anyway :)

My goal weight is 135-140
My weight now is 161

I swim 2 and 1/2 hours everyday and lift weights everyother day. My diet thing is basically just eating healthier. If i keep eating healthy and eating low fat stuff about how long will it tak eme to reach my goal wieght?

If you are eating about 2000 calories a day while eating healthy foods, along with your exercise, you can lose a couple of pounds each week. However, lifting weights is not going to help your weight go down. Muscle weighs more than fat. Lifting weights builds bulky muscle. You may find you get thinner, but not necessarily lighter. Good fat loss exercise includes aerobic (keeping your heart rate at about 70% of maximum), strength training (to build lean muscle, not so much as to build bulky muscle), warm up and cool down (to keep your muscles safe) and stretching at the end (helps retain 19% more muscle mass, and protects your muscles). Swimming is good for this. It doesn't put as much strain on your muscles, but gives them plenty of work. Make sure you give your body a chance to rest. Instead of working hard every day, work hard every other day and take it slower the rest. This gives your muscles time to recuperate and will reduce bulky muscle build-up.
Your diet should suit your needs. For instance, I have a medical problem that make me carbohydrate resistant. That means I really have to watch my carbs or I will gain a lot of weight. If you don't know what diet would suit you best, I recommend asking your doctor at your next check-up. You should eat 5 or 6 smaller meals each day, rather than 3 good sized ones. They should be very balanced (like if you have a bowl of cereal, find a way to get some protein in there. Eggs are a good choice). Low fat is important, but balance is even more important.
Keep in mind that weight isn't everything. How you feel, your size, and your body fat percentage can say a lot more, especially since you lift weights. I currently go to Curves, and they keep track of all of that. They even have a diet plan I am following and I lost 10 pounds in the last 3 weeks. If you are curious about your measurements and body fat percentage, you can go to your local Curves and get a figure analysis. They will try to get you to sign up, but you don't have to in order to get the analysis.

when you talk about giving head
and someone says "swallow" what does it mean?
like swallow the cum? and do guys liek
it when a girl swallows?

Yes, it means just what you think. And yes, just about every guy I've known (that is a lot) likes it. I personally don't like the way it feels or tastes, so it is something I avoid doing. On the rare occasions when I do, my husband loves it. I don't know why. I guess it is a guy thing I will never quite understand. (and guys, feel free to inform us about why you like it. Inquiring minds want to know!)

does paprika stimulate hair growth? and if so should i mix it in my grease and my shampoo or either or? and if not what kind of protects should i buy to make my hair grow? i basically have no hair AT ALL and it looks like a boy cut and i want to have a least shoulder length hair, but without wearing weave! so what should i do? THANK YOU!!!

I have read that it does help stimulate hair growth. You are supposed to mix a small spoonful in with your shampoo. Now, I have done this and I am not sure if my hair grew faster or not. I just wasn't paying attention. However, my hair did feel softer and seemed healthier, so it certainly can't hurt to try. Also, prenatal vitamins are supposed to be very good for your hair, and that advice came from my gynecologist (who also is a hairstylist, among many other things), so it is probably valid advice.
Another thing to keep in mind is that split ends ultimately make your hair shorter, so getting a regular trim is a good way to help your hair to be longer and healthier.

So for my birthday I got a sewing machine, i'm happy because I wanted one! I know the basics of sewing like how to make pillows and how to thread the machine and stuff. But thats the bad part, I only know how to make pillows. My dad for part of my present also went out and got me all this stuff for making a pattern we bough in the rag shop. It's to make like this tote bag. I thought it was going to be really beginner friendly and all, but they say all this stuff in the instructions and when I looked at the papers it was so confusing it was like in another language. I feel bad because my parents spent all this money. How can I learn how to sew and do patterns??

I highly recommend starting with a pattern by Simplicity. Vests, t-shirts, and basic dresses are good starter patterns, and there is a reason the company is called Simplicity. The patterns are very easy to follow. I am fairly experienced with sewing, and I still rely on their patterns. The patterns also have a section with a glossary that tells you what sewing terms they use and what they mean. I also recommend the links posted in the other response to your question. Those will help quite a bit.

i have been out of school for 2 weeks and will be out about another week because of medical problems . i really want to be homeschooled , but my dad threatened my mom saying that if she doesnt keep me in a public school then he will take her to court and get custody of me . so do you think my mom can go on and homeschool me or do you think my dad would be able to really take her to court and get me ?

If you want to be homeschooled and your mom wants to do that for you, then there is nothing that can change that. If you have been out of school for medical reasons, being homeschooled is probably a good option.
Yes, your father can take it to court. Just about anything can be taken to court. No, there is not a chance at all that he can win. Most states have an age when the child can choose who they want to live with, and in most it is no older than 13. As you need to be 13 to post here, I would say that you have nothing to worry about. Unless your mom is actually causing you harm that he can prove, you will be able to live with whichever parent you want. Since you seem to prefer to be with your mom, I am going to guess that she isn't harming you in any way.

When i have sex i feel like i have to poop. and its normal sex. i think maybe when it hits my cervix it makes it feel like it but how can i get rid of that or is this normal?

It is fairly normal. The wall between the vagina and the anus is very thin, and the nerves in both are very sensitive.
You might try making a trip to the bathroom before sex just to reassure yourself that you definitely don't have to poop.
If you are having pain, you could have a sensitive cervix, or it could be a sign of other problems. In that case, check with a doctor just to be sure.

[view]

lets start this first off as i am 15/f.

i am ALWAYS wet. like im not even or anything i just get wet is that normal and how can i stop it? it also smells really really bad. i clean it with usually just deodorent soap. should i still clean it? what do you suggest i clean it with if anything? thanks.

A bad smell and frequent discharge mean something is wrong. Do you wear tight pants? Are your panties cotton, or are they something else? Do you take bubble baths? Are you sexually active?
Tight clothing, man made fibers (like polyester, lycra, etc), bubble bath soap, and other such things can cause irritation and lead to these symptoms. You may have a yeast infection, or some other sort of infections (boy, I'm answering a lot of infection questions today!). If you are sexually active, it could be something more serious.
Whatever it is, you should see a gynecologist. Talk to your mom and tell her you have noticed a bad smell and discharge that you would like to have checked out. It will be awkward, since this kind of personal stuff is hard to bring up with parents, but she will understand and get you taken care of as long as you make sure you are clear that something is not right and you want to just make sure you don't have any infections or anything.
As for cleaning there, use very mild soap (baby soap is very gentle) or just water. You might just be having a reaction to the soap.

Recently I have been on a diet. It hasent been working really effectively because around noon, I get bad cravings that are extremely hard to control. So, I give in, and eat. Then I feel horrible because I have ruined my diet. I am not overweight, 115 pounds, but I am hating this craving! What gives? How can I stop this?
Help

A craving is usually the body's way of saying something is lacking. If you are not overweight, then listening to your cravings is a good idea. A good diet for you would include 2000-2500 calories spread out over 3 reasonable meals and a couple (2-3) good sized snacks. Eat something every 3 hours or so. Make sure you get a good balance of calories, carbs, and protein. When you get an urge to eat in the middle of the day, try some fruit and cottage cheese. That is very well balanced and very good for you, so it should tame the cravings. Other than that, your weight sounds very reasonable and I don't see why you would be on a diet. It is obviously not working right for you if you can't give in every now and then without feeling bad.
So, to sum up: You probably don't need a diet, unless your doctor has told you to. Cravings tell you that you need something, so don't ignore them. Eat balanced meals every few hours to stay healthy and not feel so hungry. Also, don't skip breakfast. That charges your metabolism every day. You do not need to stop the cravings, you need to figure out what you are doing that is causing them.

well the guy im really close too, and i like is asking my BEST friend out tomrow, and like im suporting him and stuff
and she knows he knows and she like just started liking him and everyones like didnt you like him first and stuff and im like w/e
but its kinda bugging me
cuz she like is all happy but im hapy for her its just she like brags , and acts like shes everything now and is like im not sure
what to do
should i just let it happen, if i do ill never get a chance with him cuz if she already dated him wel until next year.
she dated like 2 people this year, then my other friends dated everyone else
its not fair, i really want a bf
but i dont think im ever going to get one
help?
tips?
ideas?

Well, you could try telling him just how you feel before he asks her out. If she knows you like him, then she really can't be too upset about it. And if she is, well, she isn't that great a friend.
Or, you could let it happen. Be supportive, even help them get together. When they split up, be there for both of them, but also be clear to your friend that you haven't stopped liking him. Ask her how she would feel about you asking him out, since you liked him before they were ever together. Again, she isn't that great a friend if she gets really upset about it.
This same situation happened to me when I was 16. I actually helped my crush and one of my dearest friends get together. They didn't last long. Then I was hanging out with the guy and he asked me out. We were together for a little while. I still am in contact with the guy, but have lost track of the girl since she has moved a few times and no longer keeps up the blog we all used to post to. But I still consider her a friend.
The important thing is to be honest with them both. If that causes problems, then it is their problem, not yours.

for the past 14 weeks, I've been waking up sick, then I wait a couple hours, then caugh up s***.
At night I feel better, but I wake up and the same Bulls***... WTF!!!!
I need answers.....

14 weeks is a long time. I am not a doctor, but I have been sick many, many times. You probably have a bronchial infection or something. When you sleep, the phlegm and stuff doesn't have a way out, so it just sits in your chest until you wake up. Then you cough up everything and feel better, until the next morning.
As long as this has been going on, you do need to go to a doctor to take care of it. If you do have an infection, it can eventually affect more and make you incredibly ill. Yes, many infections go away on their own. But this one obviously hasn't, so you need to get it fixed.

I just got over having some type of illness, but now the whole side of my left face aches. its my head, jaw, and ear. i thought it was my teeth and my gums too, but now i realize that it was just my jaw that is making it feel that way. It is weird, because when my head was hurting before, it ONLY hurt on the left side... not the right. I have never had that happen before, but its the same with my ear and jaw. My ear feels like there is water in it, like when i talk..it kinda sounds distant or something. And my jaw just.. hurts bad. it is hard to chew

I think you might have an ear infection, and possibly a pretty bad one. That will affect your ear and your jaw and make it hard to eat. If left untreated, it will either go away or get worse. With what you described, I don't think it is something you want to wait out to see if it goes away on its own. My son ended up in the hospital for 5 days because of an ear infection left untreated. So, go to your doctor asap. They will be able to just look in your ear and tell you what is going on and give you the appropriate medicine.
Oh, not only did my son end up in the hospital, I also met a woman just a couple days ago who had a sinus infection that got out of hand. It ended up eating away part of her skull. She has opted not to get surgery to put in a titanium plate, though that means her brain is not protected in the area above her left eye. I knew infections could cause a lot of damage, having seen the fluid build up behind my son's ear, but this really surprised me and now I take these things even more seriously. Please see your doctor and get it taken care of right away.

EDITED TO RESPOND TO FEEDBACK QUESTION: I think the chances of the drainage causing such severe damage are probably pretty low, but you should certainly get rid of the problem as soon as possible just to be certain you avoid complications. Only a doctor can really tell you what can and can't happen, or what is actually happening. Good luck, and let me know how you are doing.

hello, i was the one who wrote about the cervical cancer, if my doctor asks about those symptoms, can they be from something else besides sex? like can i say that i havnt had sex and there would be another explanation in case i do have it? because im not sure if my doctor would tell my parents so yeah. thank you!

Nope. You can't tell your doctor you haven't had sex. I mean, yeah, you could. But your doctor will be able to tell during the exam. However, there is a thing about doctor patient confidentiality. You ask him not to talk to your parents about it, he can't talk to them about it.

me and this boy are about to date. we talk about having sex sometimes. i asked him last night if he uses condoms or not. he says he doesn't like to, i do respect that bC i have had sex with out a condom, but the guy pulls out ((i know all the lectures people so please do not give them to me)) i told him i wouldn't mind him not using one as long as he pulls out he said that was fine. then i said i was on birth control, he then said that there is no reason for him to pull out, i'm on the nuva ring, i've been on it since november, i honestly dont trust birth control, but how much is there a chance of my getting pergnant by being on the nuva ring?
i am 18 female.

You will likely not get pregnant as long as you are using birth control as directed.
Now, I know you know the lectures about pulling out not preventing pregnancy, so I will skip that.
But, if he prefers not to use a condom, it is very possible that he could have an std. Make sure you both get tested before having sex. If he is really wanting to without a condom, he will get tested. If he doesn't get tested, then he really doesn't care enough about you or himself. You getting tested is just as important, if not for more than to encourage him. I am guessing you have had some sort of test, as many doctors do that when prescribing birth control. But if you haven't, it is a good idea anyway as you have had sex without condoms. It is always better to be on the safer side with these things. Even if you are totally sure you are fine, getting tested once in a while can confirm it and that is a very good thing.

okay, my mom just told me that im getting a shot that prevents cervical cancer, and i decided to look online and see what it was.

i have had sex before and im under 18 years old, and they said that some signs of cervical cancer are:
Abnormal vaginal bleeding or a significant unexplained change in your menstrual cycle.
Bleeding when something comes in contact with your cervix, such as during sexual intercourse or the insertion of a diaphragm.
Pain during sexual intercourse.
Abnormal vaginal discharge containing mucus that may be tinged with blood.

and ive had those happen to me. it really freaked me out, and im scared if i have it.
what do i say to the doctor? my parents cannot know ive had sex! i would be murdered. has anyone had this before??

and if you have, please tell me what you did and what happened. thank you im very nervous

Your parents don't need to know. Many of the symptoms have nothing to do with sex. Tell your mom about those ones and that you are a bit worried and would like to be tested. At the doctor's office, tell your mom you would feel more comfortable if she wasn't there, since it is rather awkward. Use that time to talk to the doctor about sex. If you ask your doctor not to say anything to your parents, that should be respected.
Whatever happens, getting tested is very important. Also, those are symptoms of many things, so listen to what your doctor says and don't worry too much about cancer unless your doctor gives you that diagnosis. Let us know how it goes!

im going to florida
and if i have my period then..
i dont wear tampons, ive tryed amillion times to put on in. never works, so i wear pads. But can i swim in a pool with my period?
because doesnt it like stop it
or will blood go everywhere
xo thanks

Bleeding does NOT stop when you are in water. It is just so diluted, you won't notice it. I would say not to worry too much in a pool, unless your period is heavy enough to be noticed. It isn't really bad. But I don't recommend going in the ocean without a tampon. I grew up in Hawaii and have been told by professional divers that you don't want to be bleeding in the ocean 'cause if there are sharks around, well, they will be around you. I was 13 when I was told that, and had just started my period while on a boat. I sooo wanted to go swimming. Luckily, I didn't, because a hammerhead was spotted that day by a few people on the boat.

Anyway, as I said in your other post about this concern, talk to your mom (or other older female). They can help you get tampons right.

is it ok to put contacts in water instead of solution over night?

It is fine on a very temporary basis. Just make sure to use well filtered water. Tap water will really irritate your eyes. Especially if you are in a place with hard water.

i heard that if you get put on accutane [sp?] that is mandatory to be put on birth control as well because it causes guarenteed birth defects. is this true?

Well, I didn't know the answer to your question, so I did a search. I found an fda page that had some info that honestly made me question whether it is worth taking or not.

http://tinyurl.com/c8jo5

It says:
"You must not become pregnant while taking Accutane, or for 1 month after you stop taking Accutane. Accutane can cause severe birth defects in babies of women who take it while they are pregnant, even if they take Accutane for only a short time. There is an extremely high risk that your baby will be deformed or will die if you are pregnant while taking Accutane. Taking Accutane also increases the chance of miscarriage and premature births."

"While you are taking Accutane, you must use effective birth control. You must use 2 separate effective forms of birth control at the same time for at least 1 month before starting Accutane, while you take it, and for 1 month after you stop taking it. You can either discuss effective birth control methods with your prescriber or go for a free visit to discuss birth control with another physician or family planning expert. Your prescriber can arrange this free visit, which will be paid for by the manufacturer."

It also says that there have been instances of depression and even suicide that may have been caused by this drug. There are also a lot of other things you should and should not do while taking it. So, unless you REALLY need it (your doctor will tell you), it looks like something to avoid.
