Personally, I hate this website. The majority of questions are either horribly worded, incredibly easy to answer on one's own with the use of widely available resources (including, but not limited to, www.google.com), alterations of a very common question, or a combination of the three. I confuse myself sometimes as to why I continue to read random questions, only to be to be driven insane by the utter disregard for the reader of the question. Maybe I just use this website as an outlet for my rage towards the section of teenagers who upset me the most, or possibly it is just ingrained in my psyche to read over poorly spelled questions to fuel my masochistic personality. I might even be staying here to prevent the overtake of this hapless corner of the internet by ignorant and lazy teenage girls that don't know how to say "yes" to someone who asked her out by the use of common sense and correct grammar.
I have, however, found that reading topic specific questions eliminates most of my frustration. Of course, that still doesn't stop me from running into unbelievably ignorant questions such as "does doing squats really make your theighs smaller?" in the INTERNET AND WEB DESIGN topic list.

Sir,
My name is Joseph Koufie. I am in charge of Technical operations of Westel
Ghana Ltd. We are planing to go for mobile frequency licence and I have been
task to come up with frequencies that we could use for our short term and Long
term planning.
We are planing to 1 million subscribers for a start and expand to 2million in
the future on both both GSM and CDMA technology.
Please, I would be most grateful if you could advice on the best 3G frequency
band that would be good for our services, with less cost effective to deploy.
If possible the type and where we could source the equipment to be used.
Secondly, I would be most grateful if you could help with a website that I could
get more information on 3G mobile technology.
Looking forward to reading from you.
Thank you
Joseph

This is NOT the site to come to. You will get little to no advice. Start at www.google.com and work from there, but definitely don't plan on getting any more info out of Advicenators.

is there a website that can help you make up a screeen name? (link)
|
If you have no idea how to think of a new screen name, why do you want to change it in the first place? And you have to have a screen name already, because you need a screen name for Advicenators.

One of the commonest tricks a politician plays is to answer the question he wishes you'd asked instead of the one you did.
re: your answer to the person who misspelled "psychotic".
Try harder next time. (link)

So I'll answer both next time, then.
|
my questions are simple.
I'd like to see your opinion on my latest moral quandry. hypothetically put yourself in the shoes of a soldier in iraq or afghanistan, you have the fortitude to engage and destroy the average insurgent with whatever weapon you can grab, be it a bayonet, or a mark 19 grenade launcher. you are on patrol in the streets of samarra or some other craphole city, and some 12 year old boy comes around the corner with a PKM(russian assault rifle) and opens up on your squad.
1: would you open fire with the intent to destroy the target, or to injure and disarm?
2:is it right, in a moral sense, to shoot and kill this kid?
those of you who instantly say no are missing the point of this exercise. use quotes if you feel the need.
you fellas that like to act like a box of rubber dicks, please contribute.
you normal civilians are welcome to answer, i just like to let those specific groups know that their opinion, no matter how depraved, is still valuable.
thank you for your time and patience.

Kill the fucker.
I don't care if you put a glock in the hands of your newborn infant, if he somehow figured out how to fire it, I would blow his head off if he endangered my life. There would be no hesitation on my part to kill.
War is war, and if war is what you want, then you are going to have to deal with that. Innocent civilians will die. Far too much blood will be shed. It's all part of a package deal. If you can't handle the responsibility of voting for war, then don't support it.

I’m 13, in the 8th grade, and have a guilty pleasure. I’ve been raised in an intellectual household, with both parents having a Ph.D. Generally, I don’t watch T.V. So I was at my friend’s sleepover birthday party with 7 other girls, and she rented the First Season of the O.C. We watched 4 episodes---and I liked it! I feel kind of guilty, because I know that technically, the show is for advertising and eye-candy with a plot. But I can’t help it. That blonde what’s-his-face that stole a car and set a house on fire is really good looking. And it keeps me at the edge of my seat. Now I’m addicted! What should I do? Am I shallow for liking this?
Thanks

For a 13 year old girl, you have surpassed 99% of female teenagers on this site in terms of intelligence, respect, and dignity. I think you'll turn out just fine.

ok....im not a very social person, at least not anymore, see...i used to go to this awesome school where i had like tons of friends and stuff but then i had to move so now im at this new school and its sooooooo much different. now i dont have that many friends. i mean like its not like im a nerd or anything, like people like me but theres only like 4 or 5 people that i can really call my friends. all i want to do is just make more friends but i dont really no how. First of all, thanks for the stereotype that nerds don't have friends. Nerds have nerd friends, bitches like you have bitches for friends. Congratulations, your ignorance has made me not want to answer this.

Hi I'm a 27 year old woman but dress like I'm a lot younger. I was wearing a pair of tight track pants that showed off my figure. They were not slutty, but just the style right now and I also wore a black jacket. Anyways these two older men were sitting on a park bench when I walked by, one man said "that's a little tight".
Also two days ago me and my friend who is 33 (but looks 25) were at Tim Hortons having a coffee. We were sitting outside and these old men were sitting behind us. We were not talking to them but they were eavesdropping on our conversation ( which was about men). When we left they jeered at us and said BYE GIRLS.
Why do I always get this reaction from older men? I am not a slut and not a flirt. (link)

It's life, deal with it. For as many perverted men there are in the world, there is an equal amount of bitchy women.

I am currently in the dating stages of life (like many people). I have dated about 5-10 people and i am a nice guy who is just the plain average guy. But everytime i date someone i always end up being broken up for some "bad boy" or someone who is along those lines. I am starting to think that a normal guy can't keep a girlfriend without having to become a total jerk and steal peoples girlfriends. i am just wondering if anyone would tell me what could i do to stop this in the future. i was thinking of starting to date someone and i dont want this to happen again. (link)
|
Your problem is, that you are dating women who prefer those so called "bad boys." Just be more meticulous about who you date and you will find the people who get along with you.

I got a DELL POCKET DJ for christmas last year. I haven't really been using it lately but now I want to. Anyways, on my computer I use DELL MUSICMATCH JUKEBOX PLUS to listen to music and put songs onto my DELL POCKET DJ. Okay, so I put all the songs I wanted onto my DJ and all 172 songs are on there. But, when I press "PLAY ALL MUSIC TRACKS" on my DJ, not all of the tracks play and I don't know why. Then, when I press "VIEW ALL TRACKS", all of my songs are there but then when I press play it only plays that one song and does not allow me to scroll down to view any other songs, in order to play another song I would have to go back and press "VIEW ALL TRACKS" again and so on. I don't know how to fix this problem and I don't know if it has something to do with the DJ itself or the DELL MUSICMATCH JUKEBOX on my computer. If anybody knows how I can get all my songs into the "PLAY ALL MUSIC TRACKS", please tell me and I'd glady appreciate it. 5's to anybody who answers! (= (link)
|
This is in the wrong category.
To get all of your tracks to appear in a Dell DJ, every mp3 MUST contain an album name in the ID3 tag. If that field is empty, the Dell DJ firmware will fail to automatically load it into the playlist. You need to either download ID3 tag editing software (which you should be able to find for free, or at least a trial version) and edit all of the ID3 tags at once to just have the same random album name so they show up in the playlist, or go through each ID3 tag individually in musicmatch and put in the correct album name. The former is most likely the easiest way.

Hi,
My name is Todd, I'm an only child, and I am 15 and in High School. I have a really good friendship with this girl who has some problems. We're not really dating, but she's a really nice person and she's very kind, however she's depressed quite a lot.
I found out that she cuts herself since I saw cuts on her arms, and when some people asked she said it was nothing. I knew something wasn't right since she's never usually been cut like that. I didn't want to tell her that I think she's cutting herself, since I don't want to make her feel worse, but I just wish I could do something to make her feel better.
I always listen to what she has to say (although it's not much [as she says]), and I always try to do great things for her like get her gifts and make her feel better.
I know, from what she told me, her family has issues since she isn't really given much attention. It's not that her parents are mean, it's just that they don't really care about her. She also has two older sisters (who have children also) and one younger sister, so things get hectic over there, from what I know. Her two older sisters occasionally come up once a week or so, and she is left to babysit her nephews and niece.
I always try to let her know that I care about her 24/7. I'm going to invite her over to my house this weekend since she's been to my place before and my parents are happy to see her. Plus, it's a lot quieter. :-)
I know I can't "give" her my family, but I want to do as much as I possibly can to make her feel better and less depressed.
I'm concerned because I don't want her to commit suicide, since that would kill me. ;-(
If you have any advice or solutions you can give me, PLEASE TELL ME.
One of my ideas was that if her family doesn't do anything for Thanksgiving, I was thinking of having her over for Thanksgiving, since my parents won't really be doing anything since my immediate family moved away.
Thank you very much! :-) (link)
|
You seem to be handling the situation very well, and don't seem to need any advice.
As a side note, I'll say that the situation you are in is a bit odd, seeing as I was recently in an extremely similar one last year. I even invited her over for Thanksgiving, too.

Hey I'm a guy and was just wondering about something...
I know its normal and not exactly their fault and everything, but when a girl goes through monthly stuff, what are we, the guys, supposed to do. I really don't mind it, but sometimes I feel like I need to help out my g/f with whatever the problem may be...but I can't. Should I just be there to talk and listen? That's what I've been doing so far. I mean I can't think of any good advice other than lie down, take some medicine, try to relax, and stuff like that. Should I try to help, or just stay out of the way? Is there any way I can help or no? I know I don't or ever will understand what it feels like or anything, but I'd still try to help with anything. Will rate, thanks in advance. (link)
|
Avoid her at all costs, but do not let her on to the fact that you are avoiding her. If she wants to hang out with you when she is PMSing, try to do keep busy with other things, but if she is persistant, you are going to have to hang around her.

Ok, I love animals. Right now I have 2 dogs, one outside and one inside. We also sort of have a cat, but really it just eats our cat food. Haha..anyway..I want to get a cat. Yesterday I went to the SPCA for a science fair project, and I just fell in love with this little white kitten. It is 80 dollars and I have the money, but the problem is my dad. Everyone else in the family is OK. I just need some things I could say to my dad to convince him! Thank you! (link)
|
I love animals, too. I also love the fact that I don't have to use condoms because I can never get my dog pregnant. Life sure is wonderful.
If only your dad is against it, you could consider recruiting the rest of your family to go with you to get the cat. That's what my family did when we got our first cat from the humane society, and my dad ended up loving the cat just as much as anyone.

Does anyone know how to make your picture smaller? I tried this one program Adobe Photoshop and zoomed out of the pic then saved it. But it was back to the normal size. Please Help!!! (link)
|
Why do you have photoshop if you have no idea how to even resize a picture? Just curious.
To resize in Photoshop:
(In the menu bar at the top)
Image -> Image Size...
Constrain the proportions of the dimensions so that your picture won't look distorted. You can then decrease the size of your picture from here, and then save it as a new, smaller file.
-------------------------------------------------
Seeing as that is a lot of work for a very simple task, try something like the XP Powertoys Image Resizer.
http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe
After installing, right click on a picture in a folder, and select "Resize Pictures." You can then pick a preset, common resolution, or if you really feel the need, make your own dimensions. Once you install this Windows update, you will find this to be the easiest and quickest way to resize a picture. You will also be able to select multiple pictures at once and convert them all at the same time to the same lower resolution, which is INCREDIBLY quick and handy, and saves loads of time.
Just don't delete your source picture(s), in case you want to print a high resolution photograph at a later date, because you are obviously not going to be able to resize a smaller picture to it's original quality.
Sidenote: If you intend to put the picture online, editing the html tag won't resize the picture, only scale it. Doing this can be a big mistake if you post source digital camera pictures, as a 5 megapixel picture scaled to 320 x 240 in an html tag will make for an incredibly LARGE download (upwards of 2 megabytes), when actually resizing to 320 x 240 will give you a file closer to .02 megabytes. Why is this important? Because for one, if you don't need to show such a highly detailed picture, then you shouldn't have a file that is. Also, you have to keep in mind that not everyone accessing may have a broadband connection. For a 56k user, this can be a wait time of 5-10 minutes to load a picture, when a properly resized picture will take even a 56k user a matter of seconds to download.

hey is it true that when you sleep you're supposed to take your bra off? (link)

Yes.
|
do u think its ok for someone who is fourteen to hide a boyfriend from there parents i dont have one yet but in the futrue is it ok because i think my parents dont want me to have one but is it ok because its wut teenages do (link)
|
No. And here's why:
If you have a boyfriend, you should have no need to hide it from your parents. The man you are dating should be respectable and friendly enough to be liked by your parents. If that man (or more likely in this case, boy) doesn't meet that requirement, maybe you just shouldn't be dating him.
I could elaborate FAR more on why this holds true for the most part, but don't feel like doing that unless you ask specifically here, or on AIM.

Does anyone know where I can find a friend survey that I can just copy and paste and give it to some people. I mean the survey that has quite a lot of questions asking personal questions such as favorite color, movie, have you ever drank, smoked, etc... (link)

I have a quiz tomorrow in math and I dont know really understand how to find something from a cirle graph. Okay so lets say that the cirle graph is called Persons Living Alone by Age and the pieces of the cirlce are ages45-64 is 33.4% Ages 25-44 is 14.8% and Ages 65 and older is 46.7%. Lets say they ask If the total of 10,851,000 people were living alone, how many in each age group were living alone? How do I find it out? Please help and thank you! Sorry its so long! (link)
|
For your information, the three parts of your pie chart don't even come close to adding up to 100%. They only add up to 94.9%.
Multiply the percentage in decimal format by the total number of people. I'll do "Ages 65 and older" as an example.
46.7% = .467
.467 * 10,851,000 people = 5,067,417 people that are Ages 65 and older
Piece of cake (or in this case, pie), no?

I am almost 15 and i have only had one real relashonship with a guy. it lasted about a year.
all of my friend have great boyfiend relashonships. but i don't, the only advice they can give me.(is to be the one to move first.) well i gess im a old fashion girl. i like the guy to ask first. (link)
|
I didn't have a single relationship until I was 18. Hell, I didn't even get a hug until I was 17. I've only been in one relationship, and due to this meticulous selection, it is a very strong and deep relationship. That being said...
You're 14 years old. You don't HAVE to date someone just because your friends are. That's almost as stupid as me saying, "well, if your friends jumped off a cliff, would you do it too?" So I won't say that.
Consider breaking the lame tradition of forcing a man to ask you out. I think if you are careful in who you pick to ask out, you will end up with a wonderful man to date. Or at least, you have a much better chance of doing that then if someone were to ask you out.
|
What do you say when a guy asks you out. I'm only thirteen, so things don't come naturally. Do you just say "yes"? But that sounds like when someone asks you to marry them!! I think too much about simple things. CAn someone help mee?!?! Don't call me dumb please because you're just stating the obvious!
I'll rate honestly. (link)
|
"Yes"
"OK"
"Sure"
"10-4"
"I agree to partake in such a commitment"
To be honest, I think it's a bad idea to be TOLD what to say in this situation. It will cause you and your words to become hollow and unoriginal. It would be the same as if you printed out your favorite response and read it off the piece of paper when you talked to him again. You have a brain, so think of what to say on your own. Just taking what someone here says and repeating it as if you DIDN'T read it here only makes the act simply that: an act.
Long story short: nobody cares what you say, and as long as you say ANYTHING positive, I'm sure he'll be more than happy with it.
