Hi , Im 13 years old , & Im 5'6 & I weigh 256 pounds . I am WAY over weight . I cannot go to dieting because I have a physical in one month so i NEED to loose weight before I go off the charts and I dont want him to yell at me . I literally just started making myself puke to loose weight . How long will it take for me to be average weight ?
MrWombat answered Friday August 9 2013, 7:42 am: Not wanting someone to yell at you is 100% the wrong reason to not want to be rocking a BMI of 41. And having the attitude that you just need to do it for one month … kid, you know you are going to live badly and die young, right?
A far, far better plan would be to set a *realistic* goal for *next year* and begin working on that goal. (doing this will also stop the yelling). [ MrWombat's advice column | Ask MrWombat A Question ]
evil-devil12 answered Thursday August 8 2013, 1:41 pm: If you don't eat too much you wont have a reason to throw up ._.
Just try eating normally. How about around 1200 - 1500 calories a day? And exersise. It will make you lose weight. I started going on unhealthy diets and starved myself when I was 10 and now I am 19 and have an eating disorder. Please don't throw up. It does not help anyways because your body will start clinging to every calorie it can get. This is why most bulimic girls aren't really thin.
As I said eat normally and you wont need to worry. Cut out junk food and fizzy drinks. Only drink water and eat healthy food and you'll be fine :) [ evil-devil12's advice column | Ask evil-devil12 A Question ]

It will take you even longer to get to your average weight.
You're swallowing all of the crap society is giving you. Most girls who end up suffering from bulimia end up gaining more weight.
Purging isn't effective at getting rid of calories. Vomiting immediately after eating doesn't even get rid of half the calories you consume. The only reason you'd weigh less would be your water weight, so you didn't actually lose any weight. You can get rid of water weight just by going to the bathroom.
So if you keep this up, you can have a lot more problems than just being overweight.
These are some of the effects from doing this..
So pretty much you can kill yourself slowly and painfully by doing this. And in the mean time, you're not losing any weight.
I'd go see a professional like a dietitian or nutritionist and they can help you. They'll help you figure out what foods you should eat and how to take care of yourself. [ lightoftruth's advice column | Ask lightoftruth A Question ]
Lilz answered Wednesday August 7 2013, 11:36 am: I will try to keep it short and sweet. Stop making yourself throw up. If you think its bad being over weight, try being over weight, irritable, with horrendous breath. Its also rots your teeth and look it up to see what I mean. Plus since you extremely overweight now it will take months and months before you get back to where you should be. And by that time so many things will be shutting down on you, you wouldn't make it. The plus side to being that big is that you drop weight fast if you do 1 out of the 2 things. You either cut down on your eating habits or work out and still cut down on what you eat. Please don't read this in a mean way, just out of concern. [ Lilz's advice column | Ask Lilz A Question ]

When you're sick you puke up some acid and in that acid is cells that contain haemoglobin (which carries oxygen) Last year I came clean to my doctor. that I made myself sick, and he told me all this. Basically, making yourself sick can result in breathlessness and can put you at risk of having a heart attack. Stop it.
Okay, so you've recognised you have a problem and want to fix it. Your advise does not ask how to lose weight, it asks for how long it should take.
adviceman49 answered Wednesday August 7 2013, 9:44 am: First; stop vomiting to lose weight. Not only will it not help you lose weight but it is very bad for you as constant vomiting disrupts the electrolyte balance your body needs to keep you alive. Vomiting to lose weight is known as an eating disorder called Bulimia.
Bulimia is a very serious disorder for as I said among the problem it causes is an imbalance in your electrolytes. Then the continued bringing up of the stomach acids can severely damage your esophagus. Both of these problems are considered to be life threatening problems if left uncorrected.
You do not say how long you have been causing yourself to vomit. However long it has been has already started to harm you. You do not have to take my word for this as it is easy to confirm what I am saying simply by researching the effects of Bulimia.
If this information is not enough to cause you to stop. There is no way your body can tolerate losing 100 pounds in thirty days and you not end up in the hospital. In fact I'm not sure you can lose 100 pounds in thirty days no matter what you do.
My advice is to have you physical. Your doctor is not going to yell at you. What he will tell you is how harmful it is for someone your age to be so overweight. He will probably ask you if you would like help dieting. You should accept his offer to help you diet.
One thing you MUST DO is to tell him you tried vomiting to lose weight. He has to know this so he can run the blood tests and check your esophagus to make sure you have not done any harm that he needs to attend to. This is very important.
Please understand one thing about your weight. You did not gain all this weight overnight. You will not lose this weight overnight either. You need to learn proper eating habits and stop eating the junk type foods that have unneeded calories and other things that are bad for you. When you learn to eat properly and start an exercise regime you will lose weight. [ adviceman49's advice column | Ask adviceman49 A Question ]
