Are tongue rings trashy?
Id like to hear yalls opinions about tongue rings on girls 18+. Ive always wanted one because I loveee piercings/tattoos, I like the way they look, and I always like to have something in my mouth like straws, pens, cigarettes (i really want to quit). I wouldn be that girl whos always showing it off and would want it far back enough where its not terribly noticable.
Do you think its trashy when a girl has a tongue ring? (Like i said, not showing if off but if you just noticed when she was lauging or something)

I've spoken to a lot of men about this they say it looks dirty and trampy and they also think the same of tattoos plus the risk of infection is not worth it

It's your body and you can do what you want with it. As with any body modification, there will be people who love it and there will also be those who don't like it or consider it 'trashy'. The most important opinion is your own.
However, at the risk of sounding like a killjoy here, you do need to consider the impact a tongue piercing could have on your current, or any future job you may have. The beauty of piercings is that usually they can be taken out easily when necessary but oral piercings tend to heal very quickly and it will not be as easy and simply slipping it in and out when you need to.
Whatever you do, make sure you read up on the potential complications this kind of piercing can cause so that you are fully aware of any consequences. You also have to think about the consequences. I knew a girl who got a tongue ring cuz she thought id look cute. But, she ended up having an infection in her mouth. I also knew a girl whos tongue split in half.

First off, I myself would never get one. But, no a tongue ring is not trashy. If you want one go crazy. Get yourself one. Don't let other's opinions influence what you do or don't do! Be yourself. Don't be fake! If you want it get it.

What? Don't even ask that question. If you want that tounge ring get it girl! Screw people. There is nothing wrong with getting a tounge ring. People have different styles and tastes for example im not really into that stuff , but heck if you want it go get it! :) I mean yes people will judge you like the earlier comment said about ''must get into a lot of trouble'' ,but oh man don't worry about it. If you want it and how you say you love it , get it :) I actually love it because you are expressing yourself

no I have a tongue ring and I am not trashy. Its not a peircing that makes a girl trashy its they way she acts

Personally, I don't think they're trashy. I'm pretty open-minded and a lot of people in my family have tons of tattoos and piercings. Some are kinda out there, but they're well-done and they like that sort of thing.
The only thing I think of when I see people with tongue piercings is "oooh, ouch... their poor teeth!" Many people with tongue piercings end up chipping their teeth from playing with the piercing - they'll tap it against their front teeth. I don't know how far back they CAN pierce your tongue, but I imagine if it's far back enough it would minimize the chances of chipping. I know some dentists won't see patients with piercings, but most will - they'll see you as a frequent patient, haha.
I say, go for it! It's your body. You also have the added bonus of tongue piercings healing pretty quickly and closing up within a day or two. If you decide you don't like it anymore, it's pretty easily undone :)

Personally i dont find anything wrong with them. But they tend to have a bad rep. From personal experience people have told me to never get my tongue done, maily beacause adults will lose respect for you cause they know what it is used for. Not like your getting it for that purpose if you know what i mean ;) but im just saying that for job interviews and such in the future, employers take note to that and they might not care for it or think it is professional. Its your life. Do wat you want. But im just letting you know that people tend to judge someone who has their tongue done. Go for it if you want.

I don't think its trashy.. but i can be judgmental and think "oh that girl probably gets into a lot of trouble". to me- its intimidating and makes me think the girl is a trouble maker or risk taker haha.
But if you want one, then go ahead and get one :) don't let other people's opinions stop you from doing what you like :)
