I don't like getting high..?

Question Posted Saturday November 13 2010, 2:29 pm

Please don't answer if you are just going to tell me stupid **** okay? Because quite frankly, I don't care.

Well, I've only been high a handful of times but whenever I do I don't like it at all. When I get high all I want to do is go to sleep so when I wake up the feeling will be gone.. because I don't like it. Now, I wish it didn't affect me like this. I wish I could enjoy it but I can't. I just get really tired. How can I make it more enjoyable? Or is this how it will always affect me?

Should I just stick to drinking? Because when I drink I actually have fun..

If you've tried it and it's not for you, then don't do it. There's not really a way to make it more enjoyable if your body doesn't react to it well. It may be because the stuff you got is poor quality, but honestly I think your reaction to it will be roughly the same whether it's good or bad stuff.

I'd say it would be better to stick to what you know "works" lol. If you drink, just be safe about it. Hopefully you know what I mean by that, I'm not going to get into it. Don't get drunk, the tipsy stage is the best stage anyway, imo.

I don't like it either. Never really have.

Pot makes me nervous and anxious. It's not a pleasant feeling, and I find the nervousness can last for a few days after I've smoked as well. It's yucky, to say the least.

Your experience of pot is probably not going to change. You can experiment with how what you've eaten may have effected it, you can try different brands, but in the end this is probably just how weed effects your body and mind.

Best to just stand up for what you like and don't like. I don't mind when people around me smoke weed - I remember feeling defensive like you are at first in your question - but these days the only thing that bugs me is when people don't respect it when I say "Thanks, but no thanks."

I used to smoke and enjoy it but now I don't. I don't like the feeling. You can either enjoy it and hang out funny people or not. It might be easy to like it when you're in the right situation. You shouldn't be previously tired. Sometimes it can't be helped. Maybe you need to try something else.

More than half of the times for me, I ended up eating right after just to end it.

You might just be one of those people that don't like being high. Being high and drunk are completely two different feelings.
Just do what you feel is right for you but be safe about it.

Have you tried drinking (getting drunk/tipsy) than smoking?

WittyUsernameHere answered Sunday November 14 2010, 4:11 am:
Ehh.

If you don't like something don't do it. I'm not a fan of alcohol, and hate beer. I'm 6'2 and descended from three cultures for whom alcoholism is a cornerstone. It takes me roughly triple the consumption in the same time period to maintain the same level of intoxication as normal people.

Do you have any idea how expensive it is when you're a whiskey snob who needs a fifth to get reasonably drunk?

Beer is an exercise in futility. I've never found one that I liked enough to be able to drink it fast enough to feel more than disappointed and a little sick.

I'm more than of age, have been for a while. I go out with friends, they get margaritas, I get a coke. It's only a big deal if you make it one, I lived in a college house that was all about drinking for a while, and after about a month people got used to the fact that I wouldn't touch their kegs and no one thought twice about it.

You shouldn't feel like you're required to enjoy something. One of my best friends hates weed. It makes him dizzy and sick to his stomach.

It's really not that big a deal. Personal biochemistry varies from person to person. You might never like weed, you might like it someday. You might be buying shake someone mixed with oregano. God only knows.

Smoking weed is dumb and when I was your age I did it a handful a times as well I just quit doing it. I ended up being a young mother and quit for that reason as well. I am 19 now and ivee quit drinking. Its fun when you are young because you are around people your age who is doing it as well. Both can get you in a lot of trouble. Honestly if you are going to smoke it I would rather be sleepy than getting into trouble or being abusive. As well as.

I'm not gonna be all preachy and say "don't do illegal things", because at the end of the day, we're sitting here in front of our computer, miles and miles away from you, and we can't control what you do at all. You're 14, it's illegal for you to drink. But if you don't mind the risk of getting caught, then it's your choice. I'll admit, when I was your age, I was way into substances, and I realized it was getting out of control, and made the decision to stop until I got to college. Personally, that was a good decision for me, despite the peer pressure around me to drink and smoke among other things.

If you don't like smoking, don't smoke. If you like drinking, we can't stop you. Do what you think is right, I'm not gonna judge you.

This isn't going to be the answer you want to hear.

First of all, nobody here is going to tell you to keep smoking weed. It's illegal.

I'm also not going to tell you to drink, because I've looked at your past questions and I know you're way underage. Again, illegal.

You might not care, but we do. That's why we're here. We're here to give advice. Whether you want to hear it or not is up to you.

Look, you're an articulate person. I'm sure you're smart enough to find ways to have fun without having to break the law and get yourself in dangerous situations. I managed to get through elementary and high school without any sort of substances (other than possibly copious amounts of sugar). Do yourself a favour and do the same. Fitting in is not worth the consequences of illegal activity.
