I know that if you sleep too long, you feel tired all day (at least, I do) but if you don't sleep enough, you're obviously tired and unable to function. Good luck! Erinn_the_bamf answered Friday June 12 2009, 10:06 pm: SPEED!
Disclaimer: I am 100% kidding. Never do speed. Ever. It is a terrible idea.
However, as the answer below me said, carbs are a great way to gain energy. Focus on eating wheat carbs, as opposed to white carbs, which have nutrients bleached out of them.
Furthermore, cut out soda from your diet. The sugar does give you a brief energy rush, but you end in a debilitating crash. Actually, stay away from all caffeine in general. Stick to water.
Cux answered Friday June 12 2009, 8:03 pm: Carbohydrates are your body's main source of energy, so obviously those will help.
That doesn't mean go carb crazy and just consume a lot of carbs- do it in moderation.
And yes, like the first two people said, working out does increase how much energy you have. You know how great you feel during and after a workout? That's because you get energy and you've been working your muscles.
Try taking a nap.. but only a 15-20 minute one, because if you sleep too long, you get even more tired when you wake up. A 15-20 minute "power" nap really helps you feel refreshed.
kwyllie7892 answered Friday June 12 2009, 5:03 pm: Eat carbs, such as bread- bread gives you energy and so do bananas. Also, I've been drinking one vitamin water (usually the yellow energy one, not the one that's in the can though) a day and noticed that I have more energy. Working out helps a lot too. If you sit on the couch all day, you'll just feel more tired. Drinking green tea helps too, without giving you too much caffeine. Hope this helps!
